I do not fear sickness because by the stripes of Jesus I am healed. I have confidence stepping up to today because Jesus has already won the victory. I have faith to press in and press on because God is faithful and true and what He promises will happen in His perfect timing. So, I won’t stop or hold back as we hit Humpday but rather choose to accelerate and trust God in order to leap forward in order to finish the week strong for His praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name.

Fearlessness in Sickness

"But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed." - Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)

Key Takeaway:

This verse reminds us that through the sacrifice of Jesus, we have access to healing. We need not fear sickness because Jesus has already provided for our wholeness.

Application:

When facing sickness, instead of succumbing to fear, lean on the promise of healing through Jesus Christ. Pray for healing, trust in God’s power, and seek medical assistance as needed.

Confidence in Victory

"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NIV)

Key Takeaway:

Our confidence does not rest in our own strength but in the victory already won by Jesus Christ. We can step into each day with assurance, knowing that we are on the winning side.

Application:

When facing challenges or uncertainties, remind yourself of the victory secured by Jesus. Approach each situation with confidence, trusting in God’s ability to see you through to triumph.

Faith in God’s Timing

"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." - Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV)

Key Takeaway:

God’s promises are sure, and His timing is perfect. Even when it seems like things are moving slowly, we can trust that His plans will come to fruition at the appointed time.

Application:

As you wait for the next career opportunity or any other significant event, remain faithful and patient. Trust that God’s timing is best and continue to seek His guidance and direction in the meantime.

Trusting God:

In summary, as we navigate through sickness and pursue our goals, let us hold fast to the promises of healing, victory, and perfect timing found in Scripture. By relying on these truths, we can press on with confidence and determination, knowing that God is faithful and will lead us to a strong finish for His glory.

Joshua 13

Pressing On in Pursuit of God’s Promises

In Joshua 13:1, God speaks to Joshua, reminding him that there is still much land to be conquered. Despite the victories already won, there were still territories to be possessed. This passage highlights the importance of perseverance and pressing on in the face of unfinished tasks. Just as God encouraged Joshua to continue moving forward, we are reminded to press on in our own journey, trusting that God has more in store for us. Even when we may feel like we have reached a milestone, there is always more territory to claim for God’s kingdom. Therefore, let us not become complacent but instead remain steadfast in our pursuit of God’s purposes, knowing that He will equip us for every challenge and lead us to victory.

  • Land Still to Be Taken
    • ‘When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over. ‘
      — Joshua 13:1

Joshua 14

Emulating Caleb: Bold Faith in God’s Promises

In Joshua 14:10-12, we find the account of Caleb, who at the age of 85, boldly declares his readiness to take possession of the land promised to him by God through Moses. Despite the challenges and obstacles, Caleb remained confident in God’s promises and refused to let age or circumstances deter him from pursuing God’s purposes. This passage reflects the theme of confidence in victory, as Caleb trusted in God’s faithfulness to fulfill His word. Similarly, as we face challenges and uncertainties today, let us emulate Caleb’s faith and determination. Let us trust in God’s promises, regardless of our circumstances, knowing that He is faithful to bring about His plans in His perfect timing. Like Caleb, let us boldly step forward into all that God has prepared for us, trusting that He will lead us to victory for His glory and our good.

  • Allotment for Caleb
    • ‘“Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.” ‘
      — Joshua 14:10-12

Joshua 15

Boldness in Prayer: Approaching God with Confidence

In Joshua 15:13-19, we encounter the story of Caleb’s daughter, Achsah, who boldly approaches her father with a request for additional land. This narrative illustrates the importance of boldness and confidence in approaching God with our desires and requests. Achsah did not hesitate to ask for what she believed she deserved, and her father responded favorably to her petition. Similarly, we are encouraged to approach God boldly with our prayers and desires, trusting that He is both willing and able to grant them according to His will. Let us not be afraid to bring our needs before God, knowing that He delights in giving good gifts to His children. As we step forward today, let us do so with boldness and confidence, trusting that God will hear and answer our prayers according to His perfect plan.

  • Allotment for Judah
    • ‘In accordance with the Lord ’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.) From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites—Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai, the sons of Anak. From there he marched against the people living in Debir (formerly called Kiriath Sepher). And Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Aksah in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher.” Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Aksah to him in marriage. One day when she came to Othniel, she urged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What can I do for you?” She replied, “Do me a special favor. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water.” So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs. ‘

Before closing out let’s pause to meditate on God’s Word and listen to another worship song:

Accelerating in Faith: Pressing Forward with Confidence

As we reflect on today’s journey through God’s Word and meditate on His promises, let us be encouraged to press forward with unwavering faith and determination. Just as Caleb boldly claimed his inheritance at the age of 85 and Achsah fearlessly approached her father with her request, may we too approach God with confidence, knowing that He is faithful to fulfill His promises in His perfect timing. Let us not be discouraged by the challenges we face or the territory yet to be conquered, but instead, let us trust in God’s provision, victory, and timing. As we continue our journey through this week, may we accelerate in faith, pressing on towards the finish line for the praise, honor, and glory of our faithful God, in Jesus’ name.

Today is a day that thanks to Jesus is filled with inspiration. So let us make sure we receive the gift of grace through Jesus by faith in Him and step up and out to accomplish all the good works He has prepared in advance for us to accomplish. If you haven’t received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not choose today to be the day your life is transformed and you become a new creation and start the journey of becoming everything God created, purposed, and planned for you to be?

Let’s pray:

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you Father for loving me. In Jesus' name. Amen
