W8D7: Does it exist yet? When will we find it? Trusting God’s timeline.

I know in previous experiences of looking for a new job there were times when the job existed and another time where the job didn’t exist till about a month before I took the job. There were times where I was searching through existing openings and others when the job opened up a month before I was to start the job. I wonder which scenario God is going to use this time. Is the job one of the 7 active applications I have pending? Is the job something new that doesn’t even exist yet? How will I know? When will it become clear? As I lean into God today, all I can do is trust His timeline because His timing is perfect. So today I will wait upon the Lord for He will renew my strength.

Before jumping into God’s Word, I went for a walk with the dogs and the song “Meant for Good” by Brandon Lake came on as I was pondering the questions above and being encouraged through praise and worship music. Let’s pause and listen to the son before moving forward.

Let’s remember what we are going through so that we can use it as a testimony out the other side.

Trust in God’s Perfect Timing

Scriptural Assurance of God’s Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” This verse reminds us that God’s timing is impeccable and all-encompassing. Each event in our lives unfolds precisely when it is meant to, orchestrated by God’s perfect plan. Psalm 27:14 further encourages, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” This waiting period, though challenging, is an opportunity to grow in faith and trust in God’s sovereign control. As you wait for clarity regarding your job search, embrace this season as a time to deepen your reliance on God’s timing.

God’s Provision and Faithfulness

Philippians 4:19 reassures us, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” God’s provision is not only timely but also abundant, catering to every need in ways we may not immediately recognize. Reflect on your past experiences where God’s faithfulness was evident in unexpected ways. These moments serve as powerful reminders of His unwavering commitment to you. In your job search, remember that God is already aware of your needs and is preparing the perfect opportunity for you, whether it exists now or is yet to come into existence.

Patience and Renewal Through Faith

Isaiah 40:31 offers profound encouragement: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Patience in waiting does not equate to passivity but is an active engagement in faith. As you anticipate the unfolding of God’s plan for your employment, draw strength from Him daily. Trust that this period is designed not only to prepare the right job for you but also to prepare you for the job. Your character, resilience, and faith are being honed in this waiting period.

Embracing God’s Perfect Timeline

In conclusion, the Bible provides abundant evidence that God’s timing is both perfect and purposeful. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that there is a season for everything, orchestrated by God’s wisdom. Philippians 4:19 assures us of God’s provision, meeting our needs in due time. Isaiah 40:31 encourages us to find renewal and strength in hopeful waiting. As you continue your job search, take heart in knowing that whether the job exists now or is yet to be created, God’s plan is already in motion. Trust in His timing, for He knows the best moment for every blessing in your life. Keep your faith strong, and let this period be one of growth, preparation, and anticipation for the wonderful opportunities that lie ahead.

Today is a day that thanks to Jesus is filled with inspiration. So let us make sure we receive the gift of grace through Jesus by faith in Him and step up and out to accomplish all the good works He has prepared in advance for us to accomplish. If you haven’t received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not choose today to be the day your life is transformed and you become a new creation and start the journey of becoming everything God created, purposed, and planned for you to be?

Let’s pray:

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you Father for loving me. In Jesus' name. Amen
