How far have you followed yours? The past doesn’t have to control your future. This morning’s reading comes from 1 Chronicles 1-9 and Psalm 69. Every now and then I get interested in my family tree. I made it through … Continue reading Family…

Would you recognize him if you saw him? Would you believe it if you had been there?

This morning’s reading starts in Malachi 3 and has two very interesting titles: “The Master You’ve Been Looking For” and “The Difference Between Serving God and Not Serving Him“. The reading speaks to the coming of John who will prepare … Continue reading Would you recognize him if you saw him? Would you believe it if you had been there?

The biggest challenge in life is success and prosperity.

Consider all the people who appear to be successful based on many popular definitions… rich, famous, popular, … Consider how many of them we see fall or get tripped up in that success. Success isn’t the top, it is part of the journey and once you get to it, the foundation you have built gets tested. Consider those who become famous and how their marriages end up. Consider those who become rich and how their marriages end up. Consider those who become popular and how their marriages end up. Be it marriage, be it drugs, be it alcohol, be it … Continue reading The biggest challenge in life is success and prosperity.

Ever read about dinosaurs? Ever read about them in the Bible?

My morning reading today came from Job 40, 41, 42 and Psalm 134. In Job 40, we read of this incredible creature, the Behemoth: 15-24“Look at the land beast, Behemoth. I created him as well as you. Grazing on grass, docile as a cow— Just look at the strength of his back, the powerful muscles of his belly. His tail sways like a cedar in the wind; his huge legs are like beech trees. His skeleton is made of steel, every bone in his body hard as steel. Most magnificent of all my creatures, but I still lead him around like a lamb! The grass-covered hills serve him meals, while field … Continue reading Ever read about dinosaurs? Do you need God in your life all the time? Do you live that way? No matter where you are at today, make time to spend with God. Spend time in His Word. Spend time talking to Him throughout your day. Spend time listening to what He has to say through His Word, Worship, His Spirit, and through others. What is getting … Continue reading Don’t forget Him in the good times and cry out to him in adversity.

We have faced many things, but how many have we learned from?

What have you learned from the mountain top experiences? What have you learned from the valley experiences? What have you learned through the journey? What have you learned through the time of waiting? What have you learned through the time of hard work? Did you find your confidence in and through those times? Where did you put your trust? Who did you lift up or give thanks to? God’s Word speaks to us that through repentance, dependence and obedience the result is confidence that eliminates fear and anxiety. And we were greatly encouraged. Although we were encouraged, we felt even … Continue reading We have faced many things, but how many have we learned from?

Don’t just pick based on the past, but ask God for wisdom.

It may seem like the same issue or problem you are trying to solve, but assuming that you will solve it the same way may lead you the wrong way. It is important to turn to God to see how He wants you to do it this time so that you are able to learn the lesson associated with the situation rather than having to learn the lesson of needing to turn to God again. Consider how David turned to God when going into battle. 10So David asked God, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand … Continue reading Don’t just pick based on the past, but ask God for wisdom.
