W7D1: Trust and Prepare to remember how good God has been.

As week 7 starts my trust in God is stronger than ever acknowledging Him and knowing that He is making my path straight in His perfect timing to provide for me and my family. I am trusting Him over my own understanding because He sees the beginning and end and has plans for me that are for good. So as today begins my thought is to spend some time today pulling together memories from my career and how good God has been in and through them all. I know it is important to have a specialized resume for each job and I also know that it’s the first step so having the history documented to help in storytelling about the experiences will be equally important.

Trusting God’s Guidance

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Key Takeaway:

Trusting God means fully relying on His wisdom rather than our limited understanding. Acknowledging Him in all aspects of our lives ensures that He will guide us on the right path.

Practical Application:

Begin each day with prayer, asking God for guidance in your decisions and actions. When facing uncertainty in your career or personal life, remind yourself to trust in God’s plan, knowing that He will lead you where you need to be. Documenting your career achievements can be done prayerfully, seeking God’s wisdom in highlighting the right experiences and skills.

Remembering God’s Faithfulness

Psalm 77:11-12: "I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds."

Key Takeaway:

Reflecting on God’s past faithfulness strengthens our trust in His future provision. Remembering how He has worked in our lives reinforces our confidence in His continued care and guidance.

Practical Application:

Set aside time to journal about specific instances where you have seen God’s hand in your career and personal life. This practice not only serves as a reminder of His goodness but also helps you articulate your experiences clearly when updating your resume or sharing your professional journey with others.

Preparing with God’s Wisdom

James 1:5: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

Key Takeaway:

God promises to provide wisdom to those who seek it. When preparing for future opportunities, we should ask for His guidance to ensure that our efforts align with His will.

Practical Application:

Before working on your resume or preparing for job interviews, pray for God’s wisdom to accurately and effectively present your skills and experiences. Trust that He will provide the insight needed to tailor your resume to each job, highlighting the aspects that will resonate most with potential employers.

Embracing God’s Faithfulness and Wisdom

The journey of trust and preparation in our careers is deeply enriched by remembering God’s past faithfulness and seeking His guidance for the future. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to rely on God’s wisdom rather than our own understanding, ensuring that He directs our paths. Psalm 77:11-12 encourages us to reflect on His mighty deeds, reinforcing our trust in His continued provision. James 1:5 assures us of the wisdom available from God when we seek it.

By trusting in God’s perfect timing and wisdom, and by actively recalling and documenting His goodness in our lives, we prepare ourselves not only for immediate career steps but also for long-term faithfulness in our walk with Him. This holistic approach ensures that our efforts are not just personally fulfilling but also aligned with God’s greater plan for our lives.

My Notes:

No matter where we are at or what we are going through turning to God’s Word is the key practice to follow. His Word is active and alive and will cut to the core of the matter being sharper than a double-edged sword. So today instead of just reading my God has to speak to me through His Word take your situation, your circumstances, and your challenges and lift them up to Him and then lean into His Word to see how it will speak into them and help you in navigating through today and forward towards His glory. As you lean in, trusting His Word to speak to you, listen to hear His teaching, rebuking, correction, and training to ensure you are thoroughly equipped.

1 Samuel 19

Practical Application:

Just as David trusted God for protection amidst life-threatening circumstances, we should trust God to protect and guide us through uncertain times in our careers. When facing rejection or setbacks, remember that God is watching over you and will provide a way forward. Pray for His protection and discernment as you navigate job searches and interviews.

Today is a day that thanks to Jesus is filled with inspiration. So let us make sure we receive the gift of grace through Jesus by faith in Him and step up and out to accomplish all the good works He has prepared in advance for us to accomplish. If you haven’t received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not choose today to be the day your life is transformed and you become a new creation and start the journey of becoming everything God created, purposed, and planned for you to be?

Let’s pray:

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you Father for loving me. In Jesus' name. Amen
