W11D1: Getting things lined up for the week ahead.

As I got up late this morning, compared to what others have referred to as O dark hundred, I am considering all that needs to be done to be ready for this week. I know God has prepared all the good works He has planned in advance for me to get done list. I know my family has another list of good works that they have planned for me to get done. And so today, I turn to God and His Word to help me make sure that I get to put first things first, seeking His will and His ways for His glory and our good. It’s important to align our week with God’s will and trust Him to guide our steps.

Seeking God’s Guidance

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV). Starting the week by seeking God’s guidance is crucial. Trusting in the Lord means relying on His wisdom and not solely on our own. This scripture encourages us to submit our plans to God and trust that He will guide us. Dependence on God aligns our steps with His purpose. Begin each day with prayer, asking God to direct our actions and decisions, ensuring that His will is prioritized over personal or familial expectations.

Prioritizing According to God’s Will

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33, NIV). When we prioritize God’s kingdom and righteousness, everything else falls into place. This means focusing on spiritual growth, aligning our actions with God’s principles, and trusting Him to meet our needs. Putting God’s kingdom first brings order and provision to our lives. Review our tasks for the week, ensuring that our goals and activities reflect a commitment to God’s values. Let this be a foundation for your daily to-do lists.

Relying on God’s Strength

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13, NIV). Facing a new week can be daunting, but this scripture reminds us that our strength comes from Christ. We are empowered to handle whatever challenges come our way through His strength. Christ is our source of strength in all circumstances. When feeling overwhelmed, take a moment to pray for Christ’s strength. Remind ourselves that we are not alone and that His power is made perfect in our weakness.

Embracing God’s Plan with Confidence

As we approach a new week, let’s remember the importance of seeking God’s guidance, prioritizing His will, and relying on His strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us to trust in the Lord and submit our ways to Him. Matthew 6:33 encourages us to seek God’s kingdom first, ensuring our priorities are in order. Philippians 4:13 reassures us that we can face any challenge through Christ’s strength. By embracing these truths, we can tackle our week with confidence, knowing that God’s wisdom, provision, and power are with us every step of the way. Trust in God’s perfect plan and be encouraged as you pursue new opportunities, including your job search, knowing that He has prepared the way for you.

My Notes:

Where are you today? What situations or circumstances are you dealing with? Consider turning to God and His Word for direction and wisdom to help you. God’s Word is active and alive, never returns void, is sharper than a double-edged sword, and can cut to the core of our situations and circumstances. So rather than limiting your insight into my notes, I recommend you use the links above to read or have it read to you so that you can hear from God because God’s Word is good for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training to ensure we are thoroughly equipped.

2 Kings 11

Trusting in God’s Protection

“But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes who were about to be murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah; so he was not killed.” (2 Kings 11:2, NIV). This verse highlights how God used Jehosheba’s courage to protect Joash, preserving the lineage of David. God’s protection is always present, even in dire circumstances. Trust that God has a plan for our protection and provision, especially in uncertain times. As we seek new job opportunities, believe that He is safeguarding our path and preparing the right opportunity.

2 Kings 12

Being a Faithful Steward

“Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the years Jehoiada the priest instructed him.” (2 Kings 12:2, NIV). King Joash’s reign was marked by his efforts to restore the temple, showing his commitment to God’s work. Faithful stewardship of the tasks God gives us is crucial. Approach your job search and daily tasks with diligence and integrity, as if working for the Lord. Be encouraged that God honors faithful stewardship and will guide you to the right position where you can serve Him effectively.

Aligning with God’s Plan for the Week Ahead

This week, as we focus on getting things lined up, it’s essential to remember the lessons from God’s Word. Seeking His guidance ensures our paths are made straight (Proverbs 3:5-6), prioritizing His kingdom brings order and provision (Matthew 6:33), and relying on Christ’s strength empowers us to face any challenge (Philippians 4:13). The stories from 2 Kings 11 and 12 further remind us of God’s protection and the importance of faithful stewardship. As you step into this week and pursue new job opportunities, trust that God is guiding you, protecting you, and equipping you for the good works He has prepared in advance. Be encouraged and confident, knowing that God’s perfect plan is unfolding in your life.

Today is a day that thanks to Jesus is filled with inspiration. So let us make sure we receive the gift of grace through Jesus by faith in Him and step up and out to accomplish all the good works He has prepared in advance for us to accomplish. If you haven’t received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not choose today to be the day your life is transformed and you become a new creation and start the journey of becoming everything God created, purposed, and planned for you to be?

Let’s pray:

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you Father for loving me. In Jesus' name. Amen
