THRIVE: Time to finish strong early on purpose!

Lots going on and so today between getting to watch my daughter playing in the national championship tournament and looking to wrap up the work week strong, I am leaning in on God for wisdom and discernment along with health and protection to help me accomplish the good works He has prepared in advance for me to accomplish. There is always a lot that will pull at us for our time, our resources, and our finances. The key is to lean in on God and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us down the right path so that we can remain focused and live with purpose, on purpose, and for a purpose! So today as I get my day started, figuring out the things to get done and the things that can wait till next week, I turn to God for wisdom and direction so that in and through it all, He will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name.

Verse of the Day:

‘For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. ‘

Matthew 7:8

Today’s post from Be The Dads is Be Faithful In The Little Things – Day 1

Are you being faithful? Are you trusting God? Are you putting Him first? Are you living with purpose, on purpose, and for a purpose? Are you ready to finish strong? Invite Jesus into your heart! Invite Jesus into your life! Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you in being faithful with the little things so that God can work in and through your life for your good and His glory!

If you pray today’s prayer with me feel free to let me know so I can pray with you and for you too. (If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment then you can always try email.

Prayer Of Salvation
"Oh Father God, I believe with all of my heart that Jesus died on the cross for my sake and has risen from the dead. Lord, I receive Your Word and I repent of my sins. I renounce the past. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I receive my forgiveness. I receive the new birth, cleansed and washed in the Word and in the precious blood of Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit, in Jesus' name. Amen."

THRIVE: Do see it as a finish line or a transition line?

Can you believe it is already the end of the work week? With everything taking place and scheduled are you seeing today as a finish line or a transition line, like the passing of a baton in a relay race?

For me today will be the end of the graduation festivities that have been going on for about 3 weeks now. For me, it is a transition as we prepare for camps coming up and then a transition to college move in, and then transition to another camp.

How about you is today a finish line day or a transition day? The interesting thing is that either way we are still being called to finish strong! If you consider a 4×100 race each transition isn’t coasting but rather a strong finish so that the next leg of the race starts strong! So today, let’s choose to finish strong! If it is just the week, finish strong! If it is something else or something more, finish strong! Whatever it is for you choose to finish strong!

Let’s finish strong and thrive for the glory of God!

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” ‘

Isaiah 12:2

Today’s post from Be The Dads is Just For Dads: Be A Positive Christian Role Model – Day 16

Where are you today? Are you at a transition point to pass the baton or to receive it? Are you finishing strong or starting strong? Are you patiently awaiting the baton? Are you patiently trying to pass the baton? Why not invite Jesus into your heart and allow Him to lead and guide you? Why not invite Jesus into your life and allow Him to direct your steps and help build your patience? Why not invite the Holy Spirit who is here to be your comforter and guide you into the situation so that you can finish strong, start strong, and be patient in the midst of it all!

If you pray today’s prayer with me feel free to let me know so I can pray with you and for you too. (If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment then you can always try email.

THRIVE: Pressing in and Pressing forward to accomplish what is most important!

So with tomorrow being Friday how are you going to live out your today? Are you over the hump of Wednesday and coasting? Are you flying because Wednesday was a ramp and you are pressing in and pressing forward towards the goal for the glory of God? Are you focused? Are you prioritizing things so that what is most important is getting done? Let’s pause and consider the prioritization quadrant for a moment.

Urgent vs Important

or another way to look at it would be

So, tomorrow is Friday so consider the things pulling for your time and let’s press in and press forward to accomplish what needs to be done now and plan for the things that will need to get done. Let’s choose to not be distracted by the things that aren’t important, especially those that aren’t important but are coming at you like they are in crisis.

As I reflect on things on my plate I see family things, like celebrating my daughter’s graduation including a party planned for tomorrow. I also see calling things like prepping the final details for camp to bless a bunch of teenage girls that are coming up soon. I also see a huge project for work with many tasks that need to get done. There are some things that are needing me to action today. There are some things that I need to plan out today. There are some things that I need to say no to and others that I will need to delegate.

How about you? What are you pressing in on? What are you pressing forward on? How are you prioritizing all the things pulling at your time?

Let’s choose to thrive for the glory of God!

THRIVE
LIVING FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. ‘

Galatians 5:24

Today’s post from Be The Dads is Just For Dads: Be A Positive Christian Role Model – Day 15

So where are you at today? What is it that you are facing? What is it that you need to prioritize? What is it that you need to evaluate? What detour has entered the picture? What will you do? Where will you turn? How will you respond? Invite Jesus into your heart! Invite Jesus into the situation! Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment to help you decide and move forward for the glory of God!

If you pray today’s prayer with me feel free to let me know so I can pray with you and for you too. (If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment then you can always try email.

THRIVE: Focus and Finish strong…

Do the weeks seem to fly by for you as quickly as they feel they fly by for me? Yesterday is gone and that was mid-week and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed and that is the end of the week. As today began the words that came to me were focus and finish strong. As I go into today and look to prepare to live out this day for the glory of God the key will be to focus. So when I step up to my desk I will want and need to
emphasize
, give emphasis to, stress, put/lay stress on, highlight, accentuate, accent, call/draw attention to, focus (attention) on, zero in on, spotlight, throw into relief, give prominence to, bring to the fore, foreground, bring home, point up, play up, make a feature of the work I have before me. I will need to avoid distractions and look for ways to make forward progress, pressing towards the goal!

‘Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.’

Philippians 3:12-21

So today as I focus and as things change some more, making time to workout and get back into fitness will be an important focus. With Dusti roaming instead of being downstairs, I won’t need to use that as an excuse anymore for not going downstairs. As I realize today and prepare for today, my goal and focus are to move forward for the glory of God and thrive! My goal is to become stronger and more focused so that I can finish this race strong! My focus is to reach my goal weight while at the same time building endurance and strength! And today it has come to me that I must focus and finish strong to be able to thrive for the glory of God!

Verse of the Day:

‘“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”’

Revelation 4:11

Today’s verse of the day causes me to reflect back to 2005 when this journey to blog began. It reminds me of when God called me to write a blog and make it public. It reminds me of when God called me to write a public blog based on my morning devotional. It reminds me of how real and how close Jesus’ return felt as I was reading through Revelation and how much closer eternity was feeling. It reminds me of how each year as I read through the Bible and got to Revelation it felt like it has gotten closer and closer and closer. Even this year I have changed things up answering the call to start the “Be The Dads” movement and am going thru and writing a blog there too based on devotionals about and for dads, God continues to speak in me, to me, and through me to those who would read and visit the sites. So today as an act of worship, I continue to write because God is worthy to receive the glory and honor and power, forever and ever, Amen!

THRIVE: Ask questions to learn and then listen to understand!

As the week continues do you have a lot more questions than you do answers? Do you have a lot of questions even though you have many answers? Is it because of the reality that the more you know the more you know you don’t know? When you ask a question are you doing it with the right heart? Are you asking to learn or to put the other person on the spot? Are you asking and then listening to understand or do you ask and start to come up with your next question? Are you asking questions in a way that can be understood and helpful? Are you asking questions in a way that will help you better learn from the answer and understand? Are you asking questions in a way that is worded or expressed so as to elicit information? Are you asking questions in a way that is for the purpose inquiry and query? Are you asking questions that are more along the lines of doing an interrogation or examination? Check your heart before you ask so that you are asking with good intentions! Check your heart so that you can ensure you ask it for the right purpose! Are you ready to ask questions today to help you learn and understand better in order to be able to help, move forward, and thrive?

THRIVE LIVING FOR THE GLORY OF GOD

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. ‘

Micah 6:8

Let’s pause and consider the answer to the question. WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU?

Let’s listen to understand what God requires of us! Let’s receive the instruction in order to be able to live our lives to the full and thrive!

LET’S ACT JUSTLY! LET’S LOVE MERCY! LET’S WALK HUMBLY WITH OUR GOD!

THRIVE: Did you feel that? It’s humpday again…Let’s use it as a ramp to help us finish the week strong!

The week only has 7 days, yet time seems to be going so quickly. In this new place for 5 weeks and today will be day 3. It’s Wednesday and some call it humpday as it is the middle of the week. So will you have enough momentum to make it over by mid-day? Will you have more than enough momentum and so be able to launch into tomorrow? Will you just make it over and coast to the close of the week or will you launch into tomorrow in order to finish the week strong? We all get to choose how we will live today! This is the day that that Lord has made, so let’s rejoice and be glad in it! Let’s make the most out of today because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed! God has prepared good works for us to accomplish today! Let’s choose to receive it and get it done according to His purposes! Let’s choose to store up our treasures in heaven! Let’s choose treasures that will last through eternity rather than the things that are temporary and will get consumed in the fire! Let’s choose to be looking for ways to bring others with us into eternity with God! Let’s choose faith, hope, and love as our treasures for we know they will last and that love is the greatest!

Today’s Verse of the Day:

THRIVE: Let’s get it done!

As I wake up this morning I see a list of todos in front of me with excitement and energy. As I look ahead and see how busy work is and how busy life is I am excited to see God’s hand at work across all the areas of my life. Be it work with planning and preparing, meeting and learning, driving and executing. Be it life with training plans, camp plans, college plans, family plans, travel plans, and graduation plans. Both are busy and as I like to joke with people it helps me stay balanced. So as we get today going, let’s be focused, putting first things first, seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness so that we can get it done in alignment and accordance with His perfect will and plan and purpose for our lives and allow God to help carry the load and get it done for His glory!

THRIVE: Making the most of the time we have.

Today I woke up with an interesting perspective on how important it is to make the most of the time we have if we want to thrive for the glory of God! Be it sending my wife with my daughter on a trip so that neither of them will need to go it alone and so that they both know how much they are loved. Be it spending my day with my son and helping him to realize the connection between building a computer and its components and how it is similar to the human body being put together. Getting to spend time with the girls last night watching some baseball. Getting to spend time with my son and pour love and wisdom into his life. The key for me this weekend is to make the most of the time I have with my family. Be it facetime with my parents and my daughter or in person with the rest of my family, the key is perspective and purpose behind making the most of the time we have! We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow and so let’s make the most of today!

Ever heard how you don’t know what you have till it’s gone? That’s not really true. You know what you have and get to choose what you will do with it! So today, let’s make the most out of what we have! Let’s make the most of every moment we have with our loved ones! Let’s make the most of every conversation we have with our loved ones! Let’s make the most out of everything we do with and for our loved ones!

Let’s make today count for the glory of God so that we can thrive in and through it!

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” ‘

Ephesians 6:2-3

So how will you make the most of your today? Will you consider it a gift from God and be able to rejoice in it? Will you consider it a gift from God and use it to serve those around you? Will you consider it a gift from God and ask Him how you can use it to its full potential? Not sure where to start? Invite Jesus into your heart and your life! Ask Him to give you wisdom and discernment to know what you should do! Allow Him to transform you from the inside out!

THRIVE: Get a return on your investment. Be a good steward of what you have been given!

So you do realize that God has invested in you right? Every good and perfect gift you have came from God! God gave you the gifts and talents to thrive! God gave you the ability and opportunity to thrive! God created you on purpose, with purpose, and for a purpose! You have a choice of what you will do with it. Will you choose to be a good steward by using the gifts and talents He has given you? Will you choose to be a good steward by taking the gifts and talents and looking to have a multiplying effect on them so that when you get to be in front of God you will be like the people who got a return on the talents they were given and hear “well done, good and faithful servant“? Will you waste or bury those gifts and talents and lose what you have been given? The choice is ours and we get to decide how we will use our gifts, talents, time, and energy. Let’s choose to invest in what God has given us so that He will receive the glory in the midst of seeing us thrive!

Thrive living for the glory of God!

Verse of the Day:

‘Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. ‘

THRIVE: Do you have a to-do list that you need to get to-done?

What an incredible week with some incredible successes and incredible moves of God. What an incredible week of getting to dig deeper and understand more. What an incredible week of getting to meet more people and hear what not only takes place internally but how our customers engage too. What an incredible week of gathering details and setting up templates and processes. What an incredible week of news and announcements. What an incredible week when the Holy Spirit not only led a player to reach out to a coach but a coach and team were reciprocating and receiving a player. What an incredible week to see a prophecy about a school and a team come true as God’s hand was moving in both the heart of the school (academically and athletically) as well as the student-athlete. God is good! God is on the move! God’s faithful! God’s trustworthy! God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine!

Ever been prompted by the Holy Spirit to do something? Do miss the opportunity! It could change your life! It could change the life of someone else! It could be the step of faith needed for transformation and open the door to being able to thrive!

Let’s choose to make it about God rather than being pumped up and making it about ourselves because we know that pride comes before the fall! So let’s find ways to praise God through it all! Let’s thrive for the glory of God!

THRIVE: Ever felt like time was flying by and been amazed at what has taken place?

Oh, the testimonies that can be shared. Oh, the testimonies that will be shared. Oh, the hand of God in action. Oh the hand of God over my family. Be it the story of my oldest daughter. Be it the story of my younger daughter. Be it the story of my youngest son. God has a plan and a purpose for each of them and each of us! Imagine writing a Press Release (PR) for what it is you are hoping is about to happen and then getting to see it happen! It’s an interesting practice Amazon does as part of their product development lifecycle called PR FAQs. What would you write today as your week is finishing and you consider what is to come over the next week or two in your life? It will be so amazing when my younger daughter is able to share hers. As I reflect on the past two weeks and how fast it has gone, how much I have gotten to learn, all the people I have gotten to meet, and the incredible opportunity that is in front of me, wow. So as this day begins and I look to finish the week strong, preparing for the week to come and wanting to put to paper a PR document for my first 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days I turn to God for inspiration, wisdom, and discernment to lead and guide me forward. God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good! Let’s choose to finish the week strong! Let’s choose to trust God in order to be able to thrive for His glory!

THRIVE: Let’s get over the hump today…

What have you seen so far this week? What have you learned so far this week? What have you heard so far this week? What have you experienced so far this week? What are you needing to do to get over the hump today and thrive?

Need more data? Need more information? Need direction from God? Need specifics from God? Need to know God’s plan? Need to know God’s will? Need to know God’s purpose? Is it a speed bump to the weekend or are you climbing a mountain to get to see what’s next?

What does thrive mean to you? Is thriving something you do for yourself? Is thriving something you do for others? Is thriving something you do for the glory of God? Based on that what does it mean for what you should do next?

Yes, in this world we will have troubles, but we can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world! Yes, we can choose to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds because it builds our faith and when we persevere and perseverance has completed its work we will be complete and lacking nothing! So let’s lean in on God for understanding, trusting Him for His wisdom, His purpose, and His direction! Let’s persevere in the midst of the struggle! Let’s walk it out in unity at the speed of health so that in the end we will come out thriving and victorious on the other side with a healthy relationship.

Verse of the Day:

‘For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” ‘

1 Peter 3:12

Bonus Scripture today:

‘Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. ‘

THRIVE: Middle and yet just the beginning…

It’s the middle of the week with all that it entails and yet this week is special because it is the end of the workweek as I will get to watch my daughter graduate on Friday. It’s a week where we will get to reunite after over two months apart and celebrate her and the other graduates. It’s a week where we will get to spend some quality time with her after months apart. It’s a week where one chapter of her life is over and a new one is just about to start and last about two years. That girl is thriving! She is growing vigorously! She is flourishing! She is progressing towards and realizing a goal despite or because of circumstances! Oh God has incredible plans for that girl.

It’s an interesting time when there is no news. It’s interesting times when it seems like a time to survive in the midst of trying to thrive. It’s interesting times when you are getting clear signals that “you” (based on who you are, how you live, what you do) needs to be shelved. It’s interesting times when the todo is to try and create a safety net to protect an image even though the reality is that many of the key and core pieces of the success have been taken away and not fully communicated to the impacted people. And yet, it is 2022 and the word is THRIVE, and thanks to God’s Word, I will not fear and will choose to fight the right fights, fight the fight to trust in God, fight the fight to endure through the circumstances, and fight the fight of unity in order to ensure we are marching forward at the speed of health!

So today has begun and it started talking with God. And will continue to talk with God as I turn to His Word to hear what He has to tell me. I will look to hear and be moved by His Spirit to help me get through this day in a way that is for my good and His glory! This is the day that the Lord has made, let’s rejoice and be glad in it! Let’s take heart when we face the troubles of this world because we know that Jesus has overcome the world! Let’s consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds because we know it will build our faith and when we persevere it will leave us complete and lacking nothing! Let’s get stuck or tripped up by the incident or the moment but rather remember and focus on the victory that is and will be thanks to all that Jesus has already done and that because we have Jesus as our Lord and Savior we can walk in that confidence and peace towards today and finish strong!

Verse of the Day:

‘I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” ‘

Psalms 91:2

Today’s post from Be The Dads is 6 Biblical Traits Of A Godly Dad – Day 5

Where are you today? Will you trust God? Will you invite Him into your life? Will you invite Him into your very situation? Will you choose to invite Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior? Will you choose to see things differently and live differently from this day forward? You struggling? Are you being challenged? Invite Jesus in and He will help you.

If you pray today’s prayer with me feel free to let me know so I can pray with you and for you too. (If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment then you can always try email or text.

Let’s Pray!

Dear God
I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank You Father for loving me. In Jesus' name.
Amen.

THRIVE: Let’s finish the week strong!

Let’s finish the week on a high note! Let’s finish the week getting things done! Let’s finish the week aligned with God’s plans and purposes! Let’s finish the week strong, leaning in and on God! Let’s finish the week strong, trusting in and on God! Let’s finish the week strong, not giving up, and persevering in the midst of it all!

Ever had a week where you quote scripture and nobody realizes you are?

‘See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”’

Hebrews 12:25-29

Ever looked around and thought about how everything is up in the air because they are being shaken? Ever wondered what things aren’t moving and so will remain unshaken and unshakable? Ever thought things were settling down and then the next thing happens? Be it civil unrest. Be it a pandemic. Be it politics. Be it war. So where are we at today? Are we coming to the end of a season and the beginning of a new one? Are we about to see such a change that it will feel like time travel? Are we about to experience a time when we lose time while we are sleeping? Are we about to experience something new where we have to let go of the things of the past and reach for what God is putting in front of us? Are you ready? Are you prepared? Do you have measures or criteria to help you know, help you choose, and help you move into it? Do you have a min-bar? Are you being a leader who stands up for something rather than falling for everything? Are you being a leader who will step up to the call God brings your way? Are you ready to be the ________________ God is calling and needing you to be? Are you ready and willing to pause and ask God what ________________ is? Are you ready to embrace it and pursue it? It’s the close of another work week, so let’s decide today to finish the week strong and press into what God has planned and purposed for you! Let’s get the framework done! Let’s get the wheels turning! Let’s be prepared for what God is about to do in and through our lives!

Verse of the Day:

‘And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ‘

Philippians 4:7

THRIVE: God’s timing is perfect!

As we hit mid-workweek the words God’s timing is perfect came to mind. In the midst of the meetings and the conversations, the waiting and the delays, my hope and my trust are in God because even when I don’t see it He does. God’s never late! God’s rarely early! God’s timing is perfect!

Gods Timing is Perfect!

As I consider where things are at, I look to God to help those who are being driven by fear and worry and pray they will cast their cares upon Him. The responses took place out of worry and fear that create ripple effects to others who hadn’t felt much effect to this point and had been able to focus on getting their work done. The fear and worry over the unknown and trying to align with a view, a vision, a perspective that may not fully align with reality will produce even more ripple effects on more people.

Timing is everything!

Today rather than focusing on the unknowns and the uncertainties, let’s focus on God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Let’s focus on how He is trustworthy and dependable! Let’s focus on how He loves us and will never leave us nor abandon us! Let’s focus on how much we can trust Him, even in uncertain, unclear, and volatile times! Let’s lean in on what God’s Word has taught us about THRIVing and decide to pick the right battles! Let’s lean in on what God’s Word has taught us about THRIVing in the midst of struggles! Let’s lean in on what God’s Word tells us when it comes to perseverance!

God's timing is almost never the same thing as our timing, but His timing always proves to be perfect. Trust Him while you wait.

‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. ‘

James 1:2-4

‘If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. ‘

James 1:5-8

‘But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. ‘

2 Peter 3:8-9

‘In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. ‘

Proverbs 16:9

‘There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. ‘

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. ‘

Jeremiah 29:11-12

‘The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. ‘

Lamentations 3:25-26

‘My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. ‘

Proverbs 3:1-18

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, ‘

Let’s Read the Bible Together (February)

catching up on the days I missed (back to Feb 8th)

THRIVE: Time to focus on God!

In order to THRIVE for the glory of God, we need to be hearing from God. In order to THRIVE for the glory of God, we need to be spending time with God. In order to THRIVE for the glory of God, we need to understand God’s plan and direction.

I am so thankful for Jesus who gave His all in order for me to be able to be reconciled with God and be in a relationship with Him. I am so thankful for Jesus who when He returned to sit at the right hand of the Father interceding for you and me because He sent the Holy Spirit so that we wouldn’t be alone but have a comforter and guide to help us through this life. I am so thankful for Jesus who taught us through His Word and His experiences how to live a life to the full by raising the bar on average. I am so thankful for Jesus who warned us that in this world we would have troubles because He also reminds us that we can take heart because He has overcome the world. I am so thankful for Jesus who came that we could have life and life more abundantly. I am so thankful for Jesus who demonstrated that the devil will try to trick us and trip us up when we are at our weakest by twisting God’s Word and yet that we can rebuke the lies and treacheries by correcting Him using God’s Word too.

Let’s choose today to follow Jesus and allow Him to guide us into a life where we can THRIVE. Let’s choose today to wait on Jesus and allow Him to provide us with the wisdom and discernment we need to address what comes our way. Let’s grab hold of what it really means to THRIVE:

THRIVE: To vigorously grow; to flourish; to take new ground in your life regardless of the circumstances.

Verse of the Day:

‘Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. ‘

Revelation 3:20

Today’s post from Be The Dads is 10 Challenges Every Dad Must Conquer – Day 4

So where are you today? Are you making time to spend with God? Are you making time to be with God? Are you making time to hear from God? Are you making time to do what God calls you to do? Are you seeking and searching? Are you hearing that tug on your heart from Jesus? Are you ready to open the door to your heart and invite Jesus in?

If you pray today’s prayer with me feel free to let me know so I can pray with you and for you too. (If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment then you can always try email or text.

Let’s Read the Bible Together (February)

THRIVE: Embrace and consider how the change can be used.

Do you remember how God can work what the enemy planned for evil and turn it around and use it for good? Do you remember how God does or allows something to happen for two reasons: (1) for His glory and (2) for your good! So yes, it’s 2022 and I am facing an unknown change and how it will look, feel, and be. But I don’t need to worry because worry does me no good, it doesn’t extend my life or fix anything. If there is anything that is concerning to me I can cast them on God because He cares for me. May it bring troubles? Maybe but I can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world. Maybe but I can consider it pure joy because I know it will build my faith, it will strengthen my endurance as I persevere, and when perseverance has finished its work I will be complete and lacking nothing. So today with so many unknowns for my team and me, I turn to God and put all my hope and trust in Him! Today as I prepare for a meeting to review 2021, I give it up to God trusting that I know He can use it all for His glory and my good!

What about you? What are you facing? What are you going to do about it? How are you going to choose to respond? Will you choose to TRUST God? Will you choose to PERSEVERE? Will you choose to walk out UNITY in health? The choice is yours! The decisions are yours? As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord! How about you?

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. ‘

Matthew 3:8

Before jumping into my usual next section, today’s verse speaks more. It speaks to how producing fruit means demonstrating new behavior that proves a change of heart. It speaks to how producing fruit in keeping with repentance is a conscious decision to turn away from sin. So let’s grab hold of this and decide to live out our today in a way to bring God the glory and the honor. Let’s choose to live out today elevating God’s authority and power by not quitting! Let’s choose to live out today building trust!

Today’s post from Be The Dads is How do I forgive my abusive dad? – Day 4.

So do you have a relationship with Jesus? Are you ready to receive His wisdom and discernment? Are you ready to get godly directions and instructions? Are you ready to break free from the chains of the past in order to move forward in true freedom? Then let’s pray together.

Let’s Pray!

Amen.

Let’s Read the Bible Together (February)

THRIVE: News? Questions? Concerns?

It is nice to have confidence in my eternal future thanks to Jesus and Him having made a way for me. Today as the day starts and I reflect on yesterday’s events, activities, and conversations, it causes me to wonder. It triggers questions about what might be next. It triggered concerns about what others are thinking, saying, or doing and the impact it could have. It triggered intrigue into when more news will become available to help bring clarity for this year. There are many things I internalize because they shouldn’t be externalized. There are many things people share believing they can trust and hence they become internalized in order to ensure the trust isn’t broken. There are others who gossip without having the details in hopes of getting more details or even fake news that can get incorporated into the future distribution of the gossip. Gossip is something I prefer to avoid as I prefer to find the truth, for the truth will set us free. So today let’s decide to seek the truth, seek God’s plans and purpose for this year, seek God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength in love so that we will find it. Let’s ask so that we may receive answers. Let’s seek so that we may find answers. Let’s knock so that we may find the right opening.

‘ “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. ‘

Matthew 7:7-12

This is the day that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it! Happy Today!

Today’s Verse of the Day:

‘Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. ‘

Colossians 3:1

Today’s post from Be The Dads is Strange Words – A Dad’s Prayer For His Children – Day 2

So what are you facing today? Are you trying to go it alone? Are you looking for answers? Are you seeking the plan? Are you knocking on doors in hopes of finding the one you are supposed to go through? Today, let’s turn to God and invite Him into our situation. Let’s not go it alone but instead invite Jesus into our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us through it.

Let’s pray:

Amen.

THRIVE going into today. Are you living with purpose, for a purpose, and on purpose?

As you begin today, who are you? Where does your identity come from? Who do you say you are? Who does God say you are? Are you ready to live according to who God says you are rather than being defined by what you do, how you do it, or what others think? Are you ready to grab hold of your identity and live out the purpose for which you were created?

Today’s verse of the day comes to us from Matthew 28:19 and says:

‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ‘

Matthew 28:19

Are you ready to go today? Are you ready to share the good news today and make disciples? Are you ready to remove the limits and the barriers of who you can share the good news with? Are you ready to help them enter into the baptism? Are you ready to bring them into and under the covering of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? Are you ready to help them find their true identity in Christ Jesus? Are you ready to help them be redeemed? Are you ready to answer the call?

Today’s post from Be The Dads is Finding Dad – Day 7.

There are so many things in this world that try to tear us down. There are so many things in this world that try to define us or write out our identity. Let’s not allow the world to rob us of our true identity. Let’s grab hold of who God says we are. Let’s decide today to accept and receive the gift of God through Jesus Christ and become children of God. Let’s pray:

Amen.

Happy New Year’s Eve

It’s the day before a year that will be filled with lots of change. It’s the day before a year when one daughter who has been raised up in the way she should go will be leaving home to pursue God’s purpose, passion, and plan for her life. It’s the day before a year when another daughter will be heading off to college and getting to play collegiate soccer after graduating her senior year. It’s the day before a year when the house will only have one child left and our son will get the experience of being a teen and only child type of experience. So needless to say there will be a lot of changes in how our house is going to be and feel. God help us enjoy every day we have with our kids. God help us to focus on what is important to you as we prepare for and go through these changes throughout the year. God help us to live our lives in ways that will point our kids towards you and will bring you the praise, the honor, and the glory. Lord, help me I pray to Be The Dad you created me to be for Your purpose, Your plan, Your honor, and Your glory. Seasons are changing and we need to be ready. Seasons are changing and we need to get prepared. Seasons are changing as we move from a home of 5 to 4 and after a few months 3 and after a few years down to 2. Seasons change! So let’s enjoy the one we are in and prepare for the one that is coming so that we can make the most of it for the glory of God!

THE ONE YEAR DAILY INSIGHTS
WITH ZIG ZIGLAR AND DR. IKE REIGHARD
FOR DECEMBER 31ST

SPRINGTIME FOR THE SOUL

MEMORY VERSE OF THE DAY:

‘For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land.’

Song of Solomon 2:11-12

Let’s look for additional context and details by expanding the verses and using the Amplified version:

‘“I am the rose [of the plain] of Sharon, The lily of the valleys [that grows in deep places].” “Like the lily among the thorns, So are you, my darling, among the maidens.” “Like an apple tree [rare and welcome] among the trees of the forest, So is my beloved among the young men! In his shade I took great delight and sat down, And his fruit was sweet and delicious to my palate. He has brought me to his banqueting place, And his banner over me is love [waving overhead to protect and comfort me]. Sustain me with raisin cakes, Refresh me with apples, Because I am sick with love. Let his left hand be under my head And his right hand embrace me.” “I command that you take an oath, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles or by the does of the field [which run free], That you do not rouse nor awaken my love Until she pleases.” “Listen! My beloved! Behold, he comes, Climbing on the mountains, Leaping and running on the hills! My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he is standing behind our wall, He is looking through the windows, He is gazing through the lattice. “My beloved speaks and says to me, ‘Arise, my love, my fair one, And come away. For behold, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth once again; The time for singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree has budded and ripens her figs, And the vines are in blossom and give forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, And come away [to climb the rocky steps of the hillside].’ ” “O my dove, [here] in the clefts in the rock, In the sheltered and secret place of the steep pathway, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely.” “Catch the foxes for us, The little foxes that spoil and ruin the vineyards [of love], While our vineyards are in blossom.” “My beloved is mine and I am his; He pastures his flock among the lilies. Until the cool of the day when the shadows flee away, Return quickly, my beloved, and be like a gazelle Or a young stag on the mountains of Bether [which separate us].”’

Song of Solomon 2:1-17

And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing. ‘

So are you ready to live your life on purpose? Are you ready to live your life with purpose? Are you ready to live your life for a purpose? God created each of us on purpose, with purpose, and for a purpose. So we need to choose to receive it and then start to live it in order to achieve it. Let’s invite God into our lives and ask Him to help lead and guide our thoughts, words, and actions so that we can live out our lives for His glory in Jesus’s name. Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father
I come to you in prayer asking for the
forgiveness of my Sins. I confess with my
mouth and believe with my heart that
Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the
Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven.
and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of
Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose
from the dead and I ask you right now to
come in to my life and be my personal
Lord and Savior. I repent of my Sins and
will Worship you all the day's of my Life!
Because your word is truth, I confess with
my mouth that I am Born Again and
Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus
Name, Amen
