As I prepare for this day and know it will include going to church, I consider the importance God has been in my life and the reality that it’s not about rituals and routines but rather about having an intimate relationship with God through Jesus. That aha moment from 2000 transformed my life and my family forever. Be it my oldest who decided to get a degree in pastoral ministries and then go to serve in the navy. Showing faith and a servant’s heart. Be it my middle one who chose a Christian college to go and play soccer and a couple of weeks ago shared a testimony with the youth in our church, preaching a powerful message. Be it my youngest who got his first opportunity to preach to the youth in our church and shared a message about fear and how to address it. Without that divine encounter with God, we wouldn’t have gotten so plugged into the church and into building our relationships with God. Without that divine encounter with God, we wouldn’t have lived a life of faith that would have allowed our kids, the next generation to see the benefits of walking our life with God!
So, where are you at? What are you believing in? What is your faith in? How is that impacting the way you live your life and the lives of your family? Is it enabling you to thrive?
Today’s Verse of the Day:
‘Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. ‘
Romans 12:1
