Where do you go? Who do you turn to? How do you respond? When do you stop?
Would you consider taking hold of the words from Jeremiah 33:3?
‘‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ ‘Jeremiah 33:3
How long will you struggle with the unknown? How long will you struggle with indecision? How long will it take or how bad will it have to get before you decide?
Will you take God’s advice and “Call to me”?
Will you turn to God’s Word and receive the wisdom and discernment, the direction and instruction you need?
Will you call on God so you can be delivered from your day of trouble?
‘and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” ‘Psalms 50:15
Will you call on God so He can provide you with answers, companionship, help, and honor?
‘He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. ‘Psalms 91:15
Will you call on God so He can stick close to you and you will know you don’t have to go through it alone?
‘The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. ‘Psalms 145:18
‘Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. ‘Isaiah 55:6
Will you call on God knowing that He hears you? Will you call on God when you don’t know what to do?
‘Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. ‘Jeremiah 29:12
‘For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” ‘Romans 10:12-13
When you don’t know what to do will you call on God because you know He promises to answer you? Will you choose to pray because you know that the only prayer God doesn’t answer is the prayer that isn’t prayed?
Are you ready for God’s answer when you ask? Are you ready for the answer when the answer is direct, delayed, different, or denied? Are you ready for the answer even when it is “wait for it”? Are you ready for the answer even when it is different than you thought, expected, or hoped? Are you ready for the answer even when it is no?
Sometimes when you don’t know what to do and God’s answer is direct…
‘Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. ‘Isaiah 65:24
‘When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me. ‘Psalms 138:3
‘When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. ‘Psalms 118:5
Sometimes when you don’t know what to do and God’s answer would be delayed…
‘There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: ‘Ecclesiastes 3:1
‘Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.” ‘Daniel 10:12-14
Sometimes when we don’t know what to do and call out to God, His answer is different…
‘“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. ‘ Isaiah 55:8-9
Sometimes when we don’t know what to do and call out to God, His answer is no…
‘When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. ‘James 4:3
So are you not sure what to do? Cry out to God! Turn to God! Pray! Remember who God is and how He is able to respond!
‘Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.’Ephesians 3:20-21
