As the week kicks off I reflect on a question/comment I made last night at my daughter’s baccalaureate when I said “God’s Word tells us to be ready in and out of season to give a reason” and was going to ask my daughter’s friend’s boyfriend a question. It didn’t happen but God’s Word is so true and so powerful and so right!
Are you ready to give an answer to the question someone could ask you? Are you ready to give an answer to why you have so much hope? Are you ready to give an answer for what you are doing? Are you ready to give an answer to why you are doing it? Are you ready to express that God is leading and guiding you into what you are to be doing? Are you ready to express that Jesus is the reason why you are doing it?
Let’s pause for a moment and consider what Paul says in 2 Timothy 4:2:
Let’s consider what we hear from Peter in 1 Peter 3:15-16:
- But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
So as we begin our week, let’s get prepared, let’s be prepared, and let’s live our lives to glorify God!

Today’s Verse of the Day:
‘Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ‘
Acts 2:38
