Yesterday we had a life group time and one thing that came up was times in our lives that left a mark. I shared with the group two such moments in my life and realistically there are so many more. One experience that left a mark taught me that I can’t allow fear and my own limitations to keep me from doing what God has called me to do and called me to be. This one over the years I have tagged posts with titles like “you will be president or you will be nothing, you choose” because God was calling me to step up into a position that at the time I thought was so beyond me I kept coming up with excuses why I couldn’t, shouldn’t, and wouldn’t, up until that one day when God gave me an ultimatum and nothing sounded really bad so I agreed to go it His way! It was an incredible experience to see God help me in every situation where I had to step up and step out into deeper water than I had ever been. He gave me the names of the people I was to hire. He gave me the wisdom to ask questions about insurance and security issues. He gave me discernment when some were trying to lead me astray or off track from where we were supposed to be going as a board. God is good and faithful and if we will be obedient and sensitive to Him, nothing is impossible!
The most powerful and impactful mark left on my life has been the need to forgive and forgive quickly so that we don’t leave an opening for the enemy to allow things like bitterness, anger, frustration, and even in some cases depression to set in and take root in our hearts. When something happens we need to be quick to forgive for our own well-being! When something happens we need to be quick to forgive because it isn’t them we are setting free but we are keeping ourselves from getting locked up in our own prison of our minds! When something happens we need to forgive quickly because why should or would anyone take poison and expect the other person to be impacted? The drive to the tax lady and the song 7×70 turning on the radio transformed my response forever and has allowed me to share this important news and fact with so many others over the years! Forgiveness is the key to freedom! It left such a mark that I even shared my story in a company-wide Story Slam event and have gotten to post it on YouTube too.
So have you had an encounter with Jesus that has left a mark and transformed the direction you were going? Have you been willing to share it with others to point them to Jesus and allow their lives to be transformed forever? Would you consider sharing it in the comments section of this post to help encourage others with your lesson learned? Would you consider posting your story of how God left a mark in your life and transformed the direction you were going and the destiny He had planned? Would you be willing to share it so that you can thrive and others can thrive for the glory of God too?

Verse of the Day:
‘The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. ‘
Psalms 18:2
Today’s post from Be The Dads is
Love Slows Down – Day 7
Do you have a mark from your encounter with Jesus? Are you looking for an encounter with Jesus? Are you struggling in life like the lady at the well was, tired of being judged and feeling worthy? Invite Jesus into the situation and have an encounter with the one who knows you better than you know yourself and loves you! Consider the mark that could be and would be made on your life if you would just invite Jesus into your heart and allow Him to teach you how to worship God in Spirit and in Truth! Why not allow today to be your day of transformation? Why not allow today to be your day of new beginnings? Why not allow today to be the day that leaves a mark?
