As we step into the first Thursday of 2022 are you ready to be restored?

Are you in desperate need of help? Are you ready for God to peel back and see or reveal the damage that is in place to see below the surface? When we feel the pain we may want a quick fix but it may require a deeper look and effort to be able to have the Holy Spirit’s deep work in our lives to be fully restored. If we want to live out our lives to the full rather than just settling for a quick fix? Are you ready to be vulnerable enough to invite God in and allow Him to do the deeper work of restoration in our lives rather than trying patching up or covering up those things? Let’s pause and invite God in and grab hold of God’s Word and God’s joy and God’s salvation through Jesus. Are you ready for a full restoration?

Today let’s grab hold of and pray God’s Word over and into our lives:

‘[Rather] is this not the fast which I choose, To undo the bonds of wickedness, To tear to pieces the ropes of the yoke, To let the oppressed go free And break apart every [enslaving] yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not to hide yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood? ‘

Isaiah 58:6-7

‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a right and steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted and return to You. ‘

Psalms 51:10-13

‘The Lord will sustain and strengthen him on his sickbed; In his illness, You will restore him to health. ‘

Psalms 41:3

‘He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow]. ‘

Psalms 147:3

‘Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are spiritual [that is, you who are responsive to the guidance of the Spirit] are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness [not with a sense of superiority or self-righteousness], keeping a watchful eye on yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. ‘

Galatians 6:1

Today’s post from Be The Dads is Day 1 – How has becoming a father changed your perspective on a Father’s love for his children?

Rad Dad! – Day 1

So where are you today? Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart? Are you ready to ask Him to help with the deeper work rather than being a bunch of patch jobs? Are you ready to seek Him and ask Him in to give you eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart, mind, and will to be bold and courageous and do what is necessary to be restored? Could today be a breakthrough day? Could today be the day you move from just surviving into a place of thriving through Jesus? Let’s pray:

Dear God
I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you Father for loving me. In Jesus' name.
Amen
