Where are you at today? Do you know what to do? Could it be to be still?

Are things too busy? Are things too confusing? Are things too tiring? Are things too out of control? Are you trying to figure it out on your own? Are you trying to solve it in your own power? Are you trying to get it done your way? Are you trying to handle it by yourself?

What if you stopped? What if you stopped and got on your knees? What if you stopped, got on your knees and prayed to God? Could that moment of being still turn things around? Could admitting and confessing that God is bigger than your problems be the beginning of something? Could praying to God and praising God be what is required in this moment to get unstuck? to get energized? to get instruction? to get direction? to get going?

Will today be the day you stop trying to be the end all, be all and start leaning on God rather than your own understanding? Will today be the day you stop and get still so that you can acknowledge God in all your ways so that He can make your path straight? Will today be the day you stop and get still so that you can exalt God, worshipping Him as a living sacrifice?

The decision is yours! You can’t keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result! That is the definition of insanity you know.

Albert Einstein defines Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Exalted in All the Earth

MEMORY VERSE OF THE DAY:

‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!’

Psalms 46:10

POINTS FROM THE DEVOTIONAL:
  • Ever had a really bad day?
  • Ever felt like things were or were getting out of control?
  • Ever felt like the problems you were facing were humongous?
  • Ever felt like everything was getting turned upside down?
  • Ever considered how much of that feeling is real and how much of it is perceived or imagined?
  • Will you stop, be still, and turn to God?
  • Will you be still and remember that God is still in control?
  • Will you be still and trust that God has it under control and will take care of it in His timing?
  • Will you be still and stop trying to run around like a chicken with your head cut off trying to fix it all and do it all in your own strength?
  • Will you be still in order to get God’s perspective?
  • To get God’s perspective requires that we stop, look, listen, and remember His goodness and His greatness!
  • In God’s timing, God’s grace and strength will be more than enough to take care of things!
  • In God’s timing, chaos in the natural, political, and spiritual will be replaced with God’s sovereignty and reign!
  • Don’t allow the stress of the world to get the best of you! It sure will try!
  • Don’t allow the expectations of the world to frighten you! They will try to set the bar too high!
  • Don’t allow opportunities to turn into demands for more! They will try!
  • Don’t allow opportunities to snowball into the need for more opportunities and higher achievements!
  • When we stop we can allow God to show us how many of the stresses in our lives are external vs internal!
  • We can stand firm on the rock of Jesus Christ no matter if the stresses are internal or external, and ask God to step into the situation in order to help us get through it!
  • When things are starting to feel or get unglued, take hold of God’s truth and what He says to us: “‘ Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!'” — Psalm 46:10

DISCUSSION TOPICS FROM TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL:
  • Describe a time when you felt like your life was coming unglued.
    • 2020 – learned to trust God through the process
    • WL – learned about forginess
  • How does it help to stop, be still, and focus on God in times of chaos?
    • When we focus on God we realize how much bigger He is than whatever problem we are facing.
    • When we focus on God, He is able to calm the storm, calm the storm in us, or help us get through the storm with Him!

QUOTE(S) FROM TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL:

“I am profitably engaged in reading the Bible. Take all of this Book upon reason that you can, and the balance by faith, and you will live and die a better man.”

Abraham Lincoln

Today’s reading from Tanakh:

So are you willing to stop, be still, and focus on God today in the midst of your today?

Are you ready to turn to God? Are you ready to hear from God? Are you ready to start a relationship with God? Are you ready to acknowledge Him and allow Him to make your path straight?

Do you need guidance? Do you need direction? Do you need wisdom? Do you need understanding? Are you at the end of your rope? Are you in need of help? Are you ready and willing to ask? Are you ready and willing to seek? Are you ready and willing to knock? Join me in this prayer today:

Heavenly Father
I come to you in prayer asking for the
forgiveness of my Sins. I confess with my
mouth and believe with my heart that
Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the
Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven.
and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of
Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose
from the dead and I ask you right now to
come in to my life and be my personal
Lord and Savior. I repent of my Sins and
will Worship you all the day's of my Life!
Because your word is truth, I confess with
my mouth that I am Born Again and
Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus
Name, Amen
