Happy Anniversary Weekend of Eastridge Church (90yrs in West Seattle, 57yrs in Issaquah, 4yrs in Addis Ababa Ethiopia)

‘And Saul approved of their killing him. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was great joy in that city. ‘ — Acts 8:1-8

Are you ready to share the Good News and help infuse it into our culture for today?

Are you ready to help people be generous and invest in the lives of others?

Let’s choose to live according to God’s will and have Him be the center of our lives!

Let’s elevate Jesus in order to that miracles can take place.

We need to be looking at the outcomes.

Attack on faith, the people of faith, the Bible

God can use persecution and the difficult times

What if this intensified

The apostles stayed in Israel – Holy Spirit must have told them to stay

Saul – is an unbeliever and is persecuting the church

Did everything he could to destroy the message of Jesus — and yet God will give him an encounter that will transform him later in the book and gives him the name Paul, the apostle Paul

If you think you are too far gone or have done too many bad things, take hold of God’s redemptive power

There is hope for everyone

There is a power to transform you and your life around

Jesus has the power to transform a person and give eternal life

Those who scattered performed great miracles and shared Jesus everywhere they went

  1. Outreach Church — shares, reaches out, helps others come to the Lord. Leading, supporting university, missions church, making disciples, baptizing,
  2. Embracing Church – embracing where ever they are, choose to love people enough to give them an opportunity that God loves them, they have to belong before they believe, move from unbelief to faith, filling city with joy,
  3. Discipling Church – help mold and shape followers of Jesus to be disciples, people who are growing, submitted to Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, people who love worship, making faith decisions instead of fear decisions, let relationship flow into ministry , character, integrity, stand lovingly reaching out to others, making strategic leadership moves

Revival = Resuscitation – like mouth to mouth resuscitation to be able to bring it back to life!
