What are you dressed for? Are you dressed for success?

As 2020 is drawing to a close are you living your life to finish strong? As 2021 is around the corner are you preparing for what is to come? Either way, how are you dressed or prepared for today? Are you dressed for success?

Today’s Verse of the Day comes to us from Ephesians 6:11 and says:

‘ Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.’

— Ephesians 6:11

Do you realize what you are up against? Do you realize the battle that is ahead? Do you realize the battle you have been through in 2020? Do you realize that it is because of God’s supplies that you made it through? Be it the manager changes. Be it the role changes. Be it the organizational changes. Be it the favor of leadership. Do you realize that it is because you had on God’s armor that you made it through?

Do you realize that when someone says to you that they wish they had someone watching their back like you do that whether they know it or not, it is God whose got your back and enabled you to make it through? Do you realize that the favor you have found with men is because of your relationship with God?

Yes, hurting people hurt people. And they may not be able to control it or express it in the moment but if you are willing to be God’s arms extended and allowing the love of God to flow in and through you into their lives, nuggets of what is truly going on will surface and provide you insights into what has been going on. Did it look like or feel like a setup throughout the year? Did it feel like there were unspoken or undisclosed things going on keeping the truth from appearing? Did you notice how as it got to the end of the rope how things got clearer? Did you notice how as things got clearer and started to feel like they were getting resolved that your path opened up? Did you notice how as you were able to connect that your vision became more clear and you were more open to what God could have in store for you? Did you notice how wide the door was opened for you to be able to walk through? Did you notice the favor of the leadership that was shown to direct your path? Did you see God’s hand at work as the process was expedited to finish it before the end of the year? Did you see the hand of God through the conversations you had with the previous manager as well as the team?

So we need to put on the full armor of God so that we are prepared and dressed for success! So let’s reflect on what Ephesians 6 has to say about the armor:

‘ Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. [Isa. 52:7.] Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).’

— Ephesians 6:11-18

So as we prepare for this last week of 2020, let’s put on the full armor of God so that we are dressed for success! As we prepare for 2021 and the year ahead in the new role with the new responsibilities, let’s put on the full armor of God so that we are dressed for success!

Where are you at today? Are you feeling weary? Are you looking for support and encouragement? Are you wanting to get your journey with God started? Let’s pray together.

Heavenly Father
I come to you in prayer asking for the
forgiveness of my Sins. I confess with my
mouth and believe with my heart that
Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the
Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven.
and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of
Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose
from the dead and I ask you right now to
come in to my life and be my personal
Lord and Savior. I repent of my Sins and
will Worship you all the day's of my Life!
Because your word is truth, I confess with
my mouth that I am Born Again and
Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus
Name, Amen
