Are you willing to do what is right, even when it isn’t popular?

Are you willing to do what is right, even when it isn’t popular?

What if the people are against you and what you are needing to do isn’t popular but you know that it is right, will you do it? What if you were called to do what is right like Gideon (Judges 6, Judges 7) and it required going against what your community and your family were doing? Would you do what is right or would you allow what is popular to keep you from it? Would you allow fear of man to keep you from doing what is right? Would you be willing to go up against the popular vote or popular thinking if you knew their was wasn’t right? Would you be willing to take a stand for what is right, standing in the gap for everyone, in order for what is right to get done?

Are you more interested in being popular with people than right with God?

Do you have the faith to step out and take on the popular vote in order for the right thing to get done?

Would it matter if it wasn’t popular at home? Would it matter if it wasn’t popular in your neighborhood or community? Would it matter if it wasn’t popular in our town or city? Would it matter if it wasn’t popular in your province or state? Would it matter if it wasn’t popular in your country or region?

Today’s verse of the day comes to us from Romans 8:31 and says:

What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?] [Ps. 118:6.]

Romans 8:31 AMPC

We need to realize how much God loves us. We need to realize and toke hold of the truth that Jesus has won the victory and so in living in relationship and alignment with Him as our Lord and Savior, we will experience this victory. Irrespective of the trials or the troubles that come our way, if God is for us, who can be against us? Which foe can take away what God has already provided? Which loss here could ever compare with the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, spent with Him and the Father in heaven for all of eternity. So if we are doing what God is telling us and we are pursuing His purpose and His plan for our lives, what is there to fear? God’s Word tells us many times that we are not to fear but rather we are to believe! It is so important that we can find enough of them to be encouraged daily.

So today will you choose to do what is right or what is popular?

Will you choose to make things right or allow the popular vote to stand?

Is it about justice and righteousness? Is it about feelings and emotions?

With September in the rearview mirror how will you live out your today?
With September in the rearview mirror how will you live out your today? Consider what has happened in 2020. Consider how hindsight is supposed to be 2020. Consider the lessons you have learned through 2020. Consider where you have been able to turn, that has been unshakable through out all the change, the challenges, the trials, the troubles, and the traps. Let’s take hold of today’s verse of the day and remember that if God is for us, who can be against us!

The 49 week challenge
Day 291

Want to join me in the challenge? Click Day 291 link to join me and sign up. It is never too late.

The 49 week challenge has 6 days in which to notice a promise to trust, a command to obey, a truth to embrace, a warning to heed, or an encouragement to rest in and 1 day to reflect on what you’re learning and to share it with others, to think back over the week’s readings, to see connections between the various passages of the week. Each day we have time to talk to God and contemplate what is being said through His Word, and even more so on the 7th day.

How interested are you in what will happen today? How interested are you in what will be required of you today? How interested are you in what decisions you will need to make today? How interested are you in hearing from God today? How interested are you in accomplishing what God is calling you to do today? What if it were life and death decision? What if it were everlasting life and everlasting death decision? What if the decision that you make today will determine how you will spend the rest of eternity? Would it make a difference?

If you are interested in getting together or sharing the information together, please let me know through the comment section below, through email, or even through text messages.

Today’s reading from GOD’S WORD

THE BIBLE comes to us from:

My Notes:

  • ‘And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. ‘ — Hebrews 11:32-34
  • In our weakness, God’s strength is revealed
  • The battle belongs to the Lord
  • Vengeance is mine says the Lord.
  • Even when being pushed or cast away, don’t lose hope for the battle belongs to the Lord and if the Lord is for you, who can truly be against you.
  • Trust in the Lord rather than your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.
  • Consider the story of Jephthah shared in Judges 11.
  • Don’t allow pride to get in the way but instead live out your today in humility and in the right time God will lift you up.
  • Consider how people may attack you because you did what was right – like we read in Judges 12 what happened to Jephthah.
  • What will it take for people to turn back to God?
  • How bad would things have to get before the people will turn back to God?
  • Will people choose the Lord during good times or will history repeat itself when people start trusting in their own strength rather than the Lord?
  • Does the pendulum need to swing so far away from God for it to start swinging back to God?
  • Why walk into troubles rather than turning to God?
  • Why walk into a direction that is evil in the eyes of the Lord?
  • Will you choose to do what is right before it is too late?
  • Will you invite Jesus into your heart before His return?
  • Will you invite Jesus into your heart before the tribulation begins?
  • Will you invite Jesus into your heart or will you be left behind?

As day 291 begins, I would hate to miss giving the opportunity to anyone who hasn’t received Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior an opportunity to make the decision today and the blessing to get to live out the rest of the year in that power and that truth and that hope.

If you would like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not join me in this prayer?

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Christ alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face death now that you are my Savior. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through the deep valley. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
