Is developed always better?

Is developed always better?

When people compare status of nations and they say that some are developed vs developing, some probably think one is better than the other, but is it? Is it better to make life more complicated and more complex? Is it better to make life heavier to carry? Is it better to make life more complex to live and navigate? What new complexities and challenges come from a developed nation? What new complexities and challenges develop for those who are in politics or business or front line emergency positions? Does it cause making decisions more difficult? Does it open doors or traps or behaviors that make it more difficult to understand what is going on or should be going on? Does it make it harder to be able to respond to simple questions? Does it make it harder to be able to solve what could or should be simple problems? What is the right balance? What is the right direction? What is the right position? What is the right way?

As these thoughts filled my mind an interesting quote played out in my head from Matthew 11 where we read:

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

How is life treating you today? Are you starting to grow weary? Are you starting to feel burdened? Are you starting to need rest? Are you willing to learn from Jesus? Are you willing to align your will and your way to Him? Do you want to find rest for your soul? Ever considered the ways of the world against the way Jesus would have you live out your life? Ever taken hold of the reality that in this world we will have troubles but that we can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world? Have you received Jesus and allowed Him to give you faith to press in and press on so that you can even be able to take hold of and live out the words of James 1 which say:

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4

What would it take to take the complicated and simplify? What would it take to receive a hope in the midst of the troubles because Jesus has overcome the world? Would would it take for you to be able to consider it pure joy in the midst of the trials that come your way in order to become mature and complete, lacking nothing?

Today’s verse of the day comes to us from Philippians 2:11 and says:

‘ And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’

Philippians 2:11

Let’s take hold this truth. A prophetic destiny of all humanity and one day it will happen. All people will acknowledge the power truth of Jesus in all races, all languages. This will happen so that everybody will know it eventually. But for those of us who know Him now, how blessed are we that we get to worship Him now. Everyone, those who don’t know Him, and His goodness, His greatness, and His sovereignty. But for those of us who know Him, He is real right now, He is good right now, He is great now, He is sovereign right now, He is working all things out for His glory right now, so let’s not put off to tomorrow what we can and should be doing today, right now. Let’s believe and acknowledge Jesus today as we live out our day. Let’s be confident in centering our lives around Jesus and the truth, so that in and through it all, God the Father will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With September in the rearview mirror how will you live out your today?
With September in the rearview mirror how will you live out your today? More than half way through October, how can we choose to live out our today in a way that will make a difference and leave a positive impact on the world around us. How can we use our time and energy to be able to bring glory to God today, right here, right now? Let’s take the lessons from 2020 and allow them to lead us, guide us, direct us through the Holy Spirit in the way we should go so that as we acknowledge and lift up Jesus in this world that God will be glorified by us being living sacrifices to Him and for Him today.

The 49 week challenge
Day 290

Want to join me in the challenge? Click Day 290 link to join me and sign up. It is never too late.

The 49 week challenge has 6 days in which to notice a promise to trust, a command to obey, a truth to embrace, a warning to heed, or an encouragement to rest in and 1 day to reflect on what you’re learning and to share it with others, to think back over the week’s readings, to see connections between the various passages of the week. Each day we have time to talk to God and contemplate what is being said through His Word, and even more so on the 7th day.

How interested are you in what will happen today? How interested are you in what will be required of you today? How interested are you in what decisions you will need to make today? How interested are you in hearing from God today? How interested are you in accomplishing what God is calling you to do today? What if it were life and death decision? What if it were everlasting life and everlasting death decision? What if the decision that you make today will determine how you will spend the rest of eternity? Would it make a difference?

If you are interested in getting together or sharing the information together, please let me know through the comment section below, through email, or even through text messages.

Today’s reading from GOD’S WORD – THE BIBLE comes to us from:

My Notes:

  • There is power through faith!
  • The power of few as seen through the faith of Gideon
  • The power of faith to defeat oppressors
  • The power of faith to raise you up, receive correction, and become the man God created you to be
  • The power of faith to protect you from death or threats of death
  • The power of faith to trust God to be the judge and the victor
  • So let’s offer ourselves up to God as living sacrifices
  • Let’s be people of faith who like the sun when it rises is strength
  • Will you trust God enough even if he wants you to shrink in order that He can grow?
  • Will you trust God enough even if you do shrink in order that He will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory?
  • Even if you are the smallest or the weakest, God is able to work in and through you.
  • The Lord is peace!
  • Let’s trust in God rather than trying to do it all in our own strength and be tripped up by pride
  • Dream from God can encourage us and create fear in the opposition

As day 290 begins, I would hate to miss giving the opportunity to anyone who hasn’t received Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior an opportunity to make the decision today and the blessing to get to live out the rest of the year in that power and that truth and that hope.

If you would like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not join me in this prayer?

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Christ alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face death now that you are my Savior. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through the deep valley. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
