Peace be with you…

Are you at peace? Do you have peace? Peace with others? Peace with God? Peace of God?

If you don’t then do you want to?

“And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Why not invite Jesus into your heart and life? It begins with a relationship with Him. Through Him we receive forgiveness of sin. Through Him we receive salvation and peace with God. Allowing Jesus in allows the Holy Spirit who will prove you with God’s peace. With God’s peace we can find peace in the midst of our situation and allow us to forgive others and start to build peace with others through God’s wisdom and strength.

Will today be the start of you journey with Jesus? I know it has transformed my life, my mind, and my heart. So what God has given me I offer to you, the gift of grace through Jesus Christ our Lord.

With all the darkness, the evil, and the anxiety that is going on in this world, wouldn’t you rather trade it in for the peace of God that goes beyond what we can even understand in order that our hearts and our minds will be guarded and protected through Jesus?

Wouldn’t it be great that if and when things happen we can be people with a clear and focused mind because the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guards our hearts and minds while everyone else is panicking or anxious? Even if it doesn’t make natural sense to everyone else but thanks to Jesus, living in and through us, by faith we are able to face the challenge head on. We can be like Benaiah who faced the lion and rather than panic or flee, he roared back and chased the lion. All of this is possible. We can find peace in the midst of the trials because our trust and hope is in Jesus and the eternity with God in heaven. We can find peace in the midst of troubles because we can take heart knowing that Jesus has already overcome the world. We can have peace in the midst of the storms because we know that God will either protect us in he storm or get us through the storm for the glory of His kingdom. To those who don’t know Jesus it probably looks crazy.

What is it you are facing today? Will your first response be to invite Jesus into it? Will you ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance? Will you do what He tells you so that out of this very situation and this very moment Our Heavenly Father will receive the praise, the glory, and the honor in Jesus’s name? No matter what it is, make your first response be to turn to God and then allow His peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind.

With this peace you receive become a peacemaker! For as much as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone! Let’s be ambassadors of peace!

August is in the rearview mirror
August is in the rearview mirror and they say that hindsight is 2020. So what have you learned so far from 2020? For some this is a long weekend and it means an extra day to consider and reflect, relax and refresh, energize and motivate and for other to take the lessons learned and put them into action. How will you take the lessons in order to help provide a clearer path forward? Will you pursue vision or dreams? Will you seek God’s direction and instruction? Will you set a plan in motion and then allow God to direct your steps?

The 49 week challenge has 6 days in which to notice a promise to trust, a command to obey, a truth to embrace, a warning to heed, or an encouragement to rest in and 1 day to reflect on what you’re learning and to share it with others, to think back over the week’s readings, to see connections between the various passages of the week. Each day we have time to talk to God and contemplate what is being said through His Word, and even more so on the 7th day.

How interested are you in what will happen today? How interested are you in what will be required of you today? How interested are you in what decisions you will need to make today? How interested are you in hearing from God today? How interested are you in accomplishing what God is calling you to do today? What if it were life and death decision? What if it were everlasting life and everlasting death decision? What if the decision that you make today will determine how you will spend the rest of eternity? Would it make a difference?

  • Will you ask God for wisdom in the midst of your needs?
  • Will you ask God for wisdom in the midst of your trials?
  • Will you ask God for wisdom in the midst of your troubles?
  • Will you ask God for wisdom in response to God’s offer to give to you?
  • Will you ask God for wisdom in order to be able to live your life to the fullness of God’s blessings?
  • Will you ask God for wisdom so that you can walk out your life in alignment and accordance to God’s Word, God’s will, and God’s plan?

  • What will you do with what the Spirit reveals to you?
  • How will you take the wisdom from God and respond to it?
  • Will you be someone who speaks truth and life into the world around you?
  • Will you speak it so that others too may find the peace that surpasses all understand and so that they too will be saved?

As day 249 begins, I would hate to miss giving the opportunity to anyone who hasn’t received Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior an opportunity to make the decision today and the blessing to get to live out the rest of the year in that power and that truth and that hope.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Christ alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face death now that you are my Savior. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through the deep valley. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
