Everything flows from the heart and so we are to guard our hearts.

What are you allowing in thru your eyes? What are you spending time watching and seeing? What are you allowing in thru your ears? What are you listening to and hearing? Is it good stuff that builds up? Is it bad stuff that tears down? Is it tv or social media things that taint your view of the world? Is it something that builds up your faith and hope in God? Is it worship music or the Word being spoken? Is it gossip or bad news?

Let’s take hold of two truths from God’s Word: (1) “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” — Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ and (2) “You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.” — Matthew‬ ‭12:34‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

So let’s guard our hearts since everything depends on it and so that from the overflow what we speak will be glorifying to God.

Hindsight is 2020, so what have you learned, what are you learning, how can you improve the vision for the future and make what is in front of you less blurry?

With June in the rear view mirror, let’s reflect on what we have learned in the past 6 days as we meditate on God’s Word this 7th day. Do you have any highlights or insights from what we have read in the past 6 days? What connections have you made or can you make in relations to our readings from God’s Word? Have you made time to speak with God through your reading time? Have you made time to speak with God as a part of your daily schedule? Are you prioritizing God enough that He gets prime time with you? Have you missed the mark this week and need to turn back to God and confess it and ask Him for forgiveness? Have you taken time to thank and praise Him for the forgiveness that has already been paid for through the blood of Jesus? Have you taken time to thank Him for all the other blessings in your life? Have you taken time to thank Him for all the answered prayers? Do you have any worries? Are you taking hold of His promise not to worry but to give it up into His hands? Let’s ask God for wisdom and guidance for this day! Let’s put our trust in Him!

If you are interested in getting together or sharing the information together, please let me know through the comment section below, through email, or even through text messages.

Today’s reading from God’s Word – the Bible comes to us from:

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We don’t need to go and try to do everything alone. Just because the world is teaching independence doesn’t mean we need to go through life without God. Let’s lean in on God. Rather than worrying let’s give our cares to God because He cares for us. Worry changes nothing by praying changes everything. Rather than trying to carry the burdens of life and the yoke others try to put onus, let’s receive the gift from Jesus for He offers us an exchange where His yoke is easy and His burden is light. All your weaknesses to reveal the power and the promises of God.

As day 210 of 2020 begins, I would hate to miss giving the opportunity to anyone who hasn’t received Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior an opportunity to make the decision this early into 2020 and the blessing to get to live out the rest of 2020 in that power and that truth and that hope.

If you would like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not join me in this prayer?

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Christ alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face death now that you are my Savior. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through the deep valley. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
