How are you staying connected?

Isolation is taking place all around the world. Social distancing which is a relatively new term is becoming the norm. Lock-ins are starting to take place. How are you staying connected?

Technology provides many things. It provides the ability to communicate that a problem is starting. It provides the ability to communicate the current status and plans related to the problem. It provides the opportunity to share lessons learned and practices to begin. It provides for sharing but also for hiding information depending on who is in control of the various sources. How are you staying connected?

Technology provides opportunities to help stay connected. Be it through messaging like texts, messaging thru social media tools like Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, WeChat, GroupMe, Skype, Teams, WhatsApp, Slack, and others. Be it through voice conversations like phone calls with landlines, cell phones, or over the internet (like Facebook Messenger). Be it through video conferencing like Skype, Teams, Zoom, Facebook Messenger, FaceTime, and others. How are you staying connected?

Working from home? Schooling from home? Stuck at home? How are you staying connected?

Are you able to stay connected in a healthy way with all the changes that are taking place and with everyone’s routines being off from the norm?

What about in your neighborhood? Are you reaching out or talking with your neighbors? What about the ones that are being called “at risk”? The elderly (people over 65) and the people they say are “immunocompromised”? How are you staying connected with them? Do you know what options are available? Do they have a phone? Do they have social media of sorts? They may have felt isolated before and with everything going on now how can we double down to make sure they are ok? How are you staying connected?

How can we come alongside rather than being or leaving others alone? How can we resist or fight against isolation in a way that will be healthy and safe? How can we be the “one another” we are supposed to be? How are we praying for one another? How are we encouraging one another? How are we building up one another? How are we confessing our faults to one another? How are we loving one another? How are we devoting ourselves to one another? How are we honoring one another? How are we serving one another? How are we bearing with one another? How are we submitting to one another? How are we spurring on one another? How are we being hospitable to one another? How are we greeting one another? How are we being at peace with one another? How are we being of same mind with one another? How are we giving preference to one another? How are we esteeming one another – as better than ourselves? How are we receiving one another? How are we rejoicing and weeping with one another? How are we admonishing one another? How are we caring for one another? How are we showing tolerance to one another? How are we being kind and forgiving to one another? How are we comforting one another? How are we being compassionate with one another? How are we accepting one another? How are we being truthful with one another? How are we going to not take one another to court?

How are you staying connected to God? Are you spending time in His Word? Are you spending time in prayer? Are you spending time doing online church? Are you spending time reflecting on messages from God in your life? Are you praying without ceasing? Are you staying connected to the vine that is Jesus? Are you staying connected even when you have needed pruning? Are you staying connected and producing good fruit? How are you staying connected?

What will you do today to connect?

With February in the rear view mirror, let’s share our takeaways from today’s reading! Did you catch and promises to trust? Did you catch any commands to obey? Did you catch any truths to embrace? Did you catch any warnings to heed? Did you catch any encouragement to rest in? What did you learn about God? What did you learn about yourself? What did you learn about the world? What verse stood out most to you today?

If you are interested in getting together or sharing the information together, please let me know through the comment section below, through email, or even through text messages.

Today’s reading from God’s Word – the Bible comes to us from:

(I have chosen to use NIV translation, but feel free to choose whichever version you feel more comfortable with)

My Notes:

  • Are you more interested in staying connected to traditions – the ways of man or to God?
  • Are you more interested in staying connected to the original intent of God or the wayward ways of man?
  • Are you more interested in being right than being connected?
  • Are you more interested in being the top than being connected?
  • Are you more interested in pride than the humility required to stay connected?
  • Are you more interested in your stuff than connecting with others with generosity?
  • Are you more interested in being connected with Jesus than going it alone?
  • Are you more interested in being connected with Jesus than the suffering it may require?
  • Are you more interested in having yourself shine or shining for Jesus?
  • Are you interested in staying connected to your spouse?
  • Are you interested in staying connected to your kids?
  • Are you interested in staying connected to your parents?
  • Are you interested in staying connected to your family?
  • Are you interested in staying connected to your friends?

As day 81 of 2020 begins, I would hate to miss giving the opportunity to anyone who hasn’t received Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior an opportunity to make the decision this early into 2020 and the blessing to get to live out the rest of 2020 in that power and that truth and that hope.

If you would like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not join me in this prayer?

Did you pray with me? Would you be willing to leave me a comment so that I can pray with and for you about such an incredible decision? Or if you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment on my blog, why not email or text me instead?
