Our battle isn’t against flesh and blood!

Do you realize the battle taking place all around you? Do you realize the impact it is having on people’s lives? Do you realize the influence it is having on temptation? Do you see how it is causing pain and suffering through division and destruction? Do you know what is causing it? You may not be able to see it, but you can probably feel it! You may not be able to name it, but it is real and it is working to rob, kill, and destroy!

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

–from Ephesians 6:12 NLT

So we need to know what is going on and how to respond! We need to know how to stand firm against it! We need to know how to be prepared!

The Whole Armor of God

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

–from Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT

Don’t be caught by surprise! Don’t allow the enemy of your soul to sow seeds of doubt or division! Don’t allow the enemy of your soul to separate you from others believers leaving you alone to his devilish techniques! He wants to try and get you to believe the lie that he is stronger than God! He wants to try and get you to believe the lie that this world is all that there is! He wants to try and get you to believe the lie that you are all alone! He wants to try and get you to believe the lie that free will isn’t real and to make you believe you are a puppet! He wants to try and get you to believe the lie that you can’t make a difference today or into the future, that you life doesn’t matter!

Don’t allow these lies to derail or trick you! Turn to God’s Word which is true! Turn to Jesus where you will find life! Will it be easy? No! In this world we will have troubles, but we can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world! Don’t give up! Persevere! Lean on Jesus so that when you face trials of any kind, you can consider it pure joy knowing the truth that whenever you face trials of many kinds it will build up your faith because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance and that when we keep going and persevere that we will be be mature and complete, not lacking anything! Jesus came that we would have life and life more abundantly!

This is the day that the Lord has made, so lets rejoice and be glad in it!

Let’s take hold of the truth and resist the devil so that he will flee! Let’s allow Jesus to lead and guide us! Let’s live our lives as salt and light!  Darkness flees because of the light! Let’s be light that exposes the lies of the devil! Let’s be light that enlightens people to the reality of God! Let’s be light which points people to Jesus who is the way out! He is the way, the truth, and the life! Let’s be salt that helps preserve life! Let’s be salt that adds flavor to life! Let’s be salt that helps purify life! Let’s be salt that helps life grow! Let’s be salt that causes others to thirst for Jesus!
