Loyalty is a combination of love and faithfulness.

Are you someone who is loyal? Are you loyal to your marriage? Are you loyal to your family? Are you loyal to your boss? Are you loyal to your friends? Are you loyal to your church? Are you loyal to your pastor? Are you loyal to your coworkers? Who else are you loyal to? What allows you to choose to be loyal to them? How important is loyalty to you? Is it who you are or do you need someone else to do something? Is it you or is it a response? So in life how important is loyalty to you? How important is it for you to live it? How important is it for you to receive it?

Are you being loyal to God? You realize that God is loyal right?

8He will sustain you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God,who has called you into fellowship with His Son JesusChrist our Lord, is faithful. 10I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree together, so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be united in mind and conviction.

–from 1 Corinthians 1

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

–from Deuteronomy

God’s loyalty is most visible in the truth that…

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. –from Romans 5

Do you see what happens when loyalty is missing? Do you see what it will do to the family? Do you see what it will do to churches? Do you see what it will do to businesses? Do you see what it will do in politics? Do you see what it will do to a nation?

A house divided will fall! Without loyalty, division and treachery are at hand! When you think of people disloyal, what comes to mind? Would any of these words resonate?

betrayal · disloyalty · faithlessness · unfaithfulness · infidelity · breach of trust · duplicity · dirty tricks · deceit · deception · chicanery · stab in the back · backstabbing · double-dealing · untrustworthiness · treason · two-timing · perfidy

So what will you nurture today? How will you choose to live? How will you build today? How will you choose to live your relationship with God? How will you choose to live your life with everyone else? Let’s put first things first and seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness!

So first let’s be loyal to God! By doing that we will love God and love our neighbors!
