Do not forget! All things are possible with God!

What do you see in front of you? What can you do for others? What needs to be done? Does it look too big? Where are you putting your focus? God is bigger than anything that can come against you! It’s a matter of perspective! How will you respond to the challenges (what if it was a purity even with risk of a fiery furnace, a lions den? what if it was a giant? what if it was confronting immorality? what if it was to give and be generous?), the trials, and the troubles of this world? Will you look to God first? Does it look too strong? Where are you looking? Keep your eyes on God because our God is greater, our God is stronger, God is higher than any other, God is healer, God is awesome, God is power! It may be impossible for us to do it in our own strength so don’t forget that God is here and with God all things are possible!

Do you have a positive attitude? Do you walk around considering every day as a happy day? This is the day that the Lord has made, let’s rejoice and be glad in it! It’s true every day of the week! I find when I say “Happy Monday”, “Happy Tuesday”, “Happy Wednesday”, “Happy Thursday”, “Happy Friday” that the closer I get to Friday the more people are willing to participate. I am also finding that by doing it daily there are more and more people who are saying it daily. I am also finding that on days when I am out of the office people are looking forward to hearing “Happy …” and will ask me where I had been.

What type of attitude do you have? Do you have God in your focus and so no matter how big or bad that cloud coming looks, you know God is bigger and that you can do all things through Him? There is a reason for my attitude and He is Jesus! He helps me through the highs and the lows! He walks with me through it all! He teaches me! He corrects me! He loves me!

So we need to have a positive attitude — I call it faith! Faith that trusts in God because through Him all things are possible! Faith that trusts in God because He gives me strength! Faith that trusts in God because His plan is to give us a hope and a future! Faith that trusts in God because Jesus has overcome the world, has paid the price, has made a way when there didn’t seem to be a way! Faith that trusts in God because He will never leave me nor abandon me! Faith that trusts in God because He can turn around what the enemy plans for evil and use it for good!

So when you see a storm coming or trouble being stirred up, don’t fear, don’t worry, turn to God and pray! Fear and worry change nothing, but prayer changes everything! Call out to Jesus through whom all things are possible! Nothing is impossible for God!

Through Jesus, the universe was created … Proverbs 3:11-20

11My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, 12because the Lord disciplines those he loves,as a father the son he delights in. 13Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, 14for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. 15She is more precious than rubies;nothing you desire can compare with her. 16Long life is in her right hand;in her left hand are riches and honor. 17Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. 18She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her;those who hold her fast will be blessed. 19By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations,by understanding he set the heavens in place; 20by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew. –from Proverbs 3

What does God need to create something? Well, he created the universe out of nothing! Remember in Genesis the creation story? Today’s reading in Prov closed with “19By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations,by understanding he set the heavens in place; 20by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.” … God can!

Jesus is wisdom! Jesus can give us the information we need to face the situation we need! Will you believe and trust Him enough to invite Him into your life and the very situation you are in? Will you start and continue to build your relationship with Jesus for the rest of your life? Do you remember what John told us about Jesus?

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. –John 1:3

Let’s build up our relationship with Jesus so that in it we can find that peace that goes beyond all understanding because with Him we can find God’s wisdom and God’s power!

He loves you! He loves me! I love Him! Do you love Him?

Remember God is love! Remember He loves you so much that He sent Jesus!

When we receive Jesus into our lives and start the journey of life with Him at our side, we find God’s blessings of wisdom and understanding. Life is about more than just how much stuff you can get! A relationship with Jesus will transform your life forever! So let’s live like we will get to spend eternity with Jesus because Jesus said so.

Let Him lead you and guide, comfort and correct you, so that in all your ways you will acknowledge Him and allow Him to make your path straight!

With God, nothing is impossible … Matthew 19:16-30

16Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” 17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18“Which ones?” he inquired.Jesus replied, “ ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” 20“All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” 21Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” 25When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” 27Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” 28Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first–from Matthew 19

What impossible thing are you facing today? Is it impossible for you to get it done alone or in your own power? Have you invited God into the situation? Have brought to the table the one to whom all things are possible? You might be right that it is impossible for man. But don’t let it stop there, rather, invite God into the situation for with God all things are possible!

Consider how hard it would be if you were that rich man and were told to go and sell everything and then give it away! How would that make you feel? Where would your focus be? What thoughts would be going through your mind? What would it take but a miracle for you to go through with it? So if it is a miracle that you need, then why not invite the miraculous by bring Jesus into the situation? Allow God to change it from mission impossible to becoming mission possible!

We can’t get to heaven on our own! We can’t buy our way in! We can’t talk our way in! We can’t just walk in! We need to have a relationship with Jesus who made a way when there didn’t seem to be a way by sacrificing Himself on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice, once for all! Having too much stuff can even be a hindrance to entering into the kingdom of God as we saw in today’s reading! It doesn’t mean it won’t happen, it just means God needs to show up and work in our hearts for it to be possible!

So don’t be limited today by what you can do, rather turn to God and give it up to God so that He can give you wisdom for the very situation! Give it up to Him! Even the disciples then questioned Jesus how it will be possible and He confirmed that with God all things are possible!

So let’s be servant leaders! Let’s be about doing God’s work! Let’s not be so focused on the stuff that we miss out on the blessings of God! Let’s be good and faithful servants to God!

Take a look around and consider how you can help today! Do you see need? How would God use your provision to help them out? Let’s make God’s priorities our priorities today!

Let’s help the poor! Let’s be generous! Let’s be generous givers! Let’s give of our time! Let’s give of our money! Let’s give of our energy! Let’s turn this world upside down just like God put the paradigm of the first will be last and the last will be first upside down.

What did it take for you to give Jesus your heart? What will it take for you to give Jesus your heart? How will you keep putting God first?

For each of us what is top priority is different and hence what we need to give up to God so that we can put Him first will be different too. What we will receive back will far more than what you have given up! We see this in how this part of our reading closes with:

29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. –from Matthew 19

In your life, nothing is impossible with God … Job 8:1-10:22

Don’t be enticed into trying to give a bad explanation for why there is suffering! Let’s not be one who gives partial truth and because of the part that wasn’t true gets pushed aside! Instead let’s be authentic and speak from the heart! Let’s be compassionate! Let’s be outreaching and embracing! Let’s be helpful! Bring it to God! Give it up to God for whom all things are possible! Let’s seek wisdom from God! Let’s put our hope and trust in God who is so powerful! Let’s be there for one another! Let’s not try to go through it alone! Let’s call out for faith when we feel trials and troubles! Believe and ask God to help with any of your unbelief like the father who had gone out to Jesus! We might not have all the answers, but we do know the one who does! Yes it may not be easy and we are promised that in this world we will have troubles but we can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world, so let’s cling onto Jesus during these times! Be it for ourselves  or others who are also in need!

So today no matter what is before you, keep your focus on Jesus, put your trust in Him for in Him all things are possible!
