Take a look around you…do you know how it all works? Take a look around you…do you understand how it all work? Be it that you are looking at the situation of another…do you understand why they are going through such a time? Be it that you are going through something…do you understand what is going on and why?
Imagine being in Job’s shoes. Imagine having been questioned about that situation. Today’s reading starts in Job 37 and 38 where Elihu concludes his comments and then God shows up. He comes with many questions to reveal how great He is. Consider where you are and consider the questions. We need to submit to God and hold onto the truth of His Words. Imagine you were debating with your friend about your situation and complaining about your situation and asking for a chat with God. Imagine if God showed up like this…
Word out of the Whirlwind1Then Adonai answered Job out of the whirlwind. He said:2“Who is this, who darkens counsel with words without knowledge?3Now gird up your loins like a man; I will question you, and you will inform Me!4“Where were you when I laid the foundations of earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.5Who set its dimensions —if you know— or who stretched a line over it?6On what were its foundations set, or who laid its cornerstone—7when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?8“And who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb,9when I made a cloud its garment and thick darkness its swaddling cloth,10when I prescribed my boundary for it, and set bars and gates,11when I said, ‘This far you may come, but no further; here your majestic waves will stop.’12“Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, or caused dawn to know its place;13that it would take hold of the corners of the earth and shake the wicked out of it?14It changes shape like clay under a seal— they stand out like those of a garment.15And from the wicked their light is withheld, and the upraised arm is broken.16“Have you gone to the springs of the sea, or walked in the recesses of the deep?17Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Have you seen the gates of the deepest darkness?18Have you comprehended the expanses of the earth? If you know it all, declare it!19In what direction does light dwell, and darkness, where is its place—20that you can take it to its borders, and discern the paths to its home?21Surely you know, for you were born then; and the number of your days is great!22“Have you entered the storehouses of snow or seen the storehouses of hail,23which I reserved for a time of distress, for a day of battle and war?24In what direction is light distributed, or the east wind scattered over the earth?25Who cuts a channel for the flood, and a path for the thunderstorm,26to cause it to rain on an uninhabited land, a desert with no one in it,27to satisfy a devastated and desolate land, and cause it to sprout grass?28Does the rain have a father, or who has birthed the drops of dew?29From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost of heaven,30when the waters hide like stone, and the surface of the deep is frozen?31“Can you bind the chains of Pleiades or loosen the belt of Orion?32Do you bring out the constellations in their season or guide the Bear with her cubs?33Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set up dominion over the earth?34“Can you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with an abundance of water?35Can you send out lightning bolts, so they go? Will they say to you, ‘Here we are’?36Who put wisdom in the secret place or gave understanding to the mind?37Who can count the clouds by wisdom, or tip over the water jars of heaven,38when dust hardens into a mass and clods of earth stick together?39“Do you hunt prey for the lioness or satisfy the hunger of young lions,40when they crouch in their dens or lie in wait in the thicket?41Who arranges provision for the raven, when its young cry out to God, and wander about for lack of food?–from Job 38
Do you have an answer for Him? Do you know what you might say? Will you trust Him? We need to take God at His Word. We need to realize His plan is good! His plan is to give us a hope and a future! He can use what the devil planned for evil and turn it around and use it for God! He can use what the devil has done and be glorified. Let’s consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds. Let’s be overcomers when we face troubles for Jesus has already overcome the world! Let’s consider what God is about to prove in and through us!
Today’s reading continues into Acts 1. Jesus had risen from the dead and risen up to Heaven. He sent His disciples back to Jerusalem to wait upon the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They wanted to know if He would be restoring the kingdom but Jesus said it was not for them to know the day nor the time. He did tell them though that when the Spirit comes upon them that they will be given power from on high and be His witnesses from Jerusalem, to Judea, to Samaria, to the ends of the earth!
So what is your mission field? Where are you at right now? Until further notice, that is your mission field. Have you received the Holy Spirit? Have you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Will you live out your life with His power?
In Acts, we see the disciples picking a new apostle to replace Judas. The apostles were united in one accord and one mind. As they were in the upper room they nominated two and prayed for God’s wisdom and they cast lots and chose Matthias.
Today’s reading continues into Revelation 19. We see that God’s judgments are true and just. We see how in the end times He judged the one who corrupted the earth and how He has avenged the blood of His servants who caused by her hands. There is so much worship taking place and so my glory to God! And then we get to see the wedding.
Wedding of the Lamb6Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude—like the roar of rushing waters or like the rumbling of powerful thunder—saying, “Halleluyah! For Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot reigns!7Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready,8She was given fine linen to wear, bright and clean! For the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the kedoshim.”9Then the angel tells me, “Write: How fortunate are those who have been invited to the wedding banquet of the Lamb!” He also tells me, “These are the true words of God.”10Then I fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that—for I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Yeshua. Worship God! For the testimony of Yeshua is the Spirit of Prophesy.”–from Revelation 19
Oh what a day! Oh I hope to see you there. Let’s worship God all the days of our lives!
Today’s reading concludes with the final battle…
Final Battle of this Age11Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The One riding on it is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness.12His eyes are like a flame of fire, and many royal crowns are on His head. He has a name written that no one knows except Himself.13He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is “the Word of God.”14And the armies of heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.15From His mouth comes a sharp sword—so that with it He may strike down the nations—and He shall rule them with an iron rod, and He treads the winepress of the furious wrath of Elohei-Tzva’ot.16On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “King of kings, and Lord of lords.”17Then I saw a single angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he cried out to all the birds flying high in the sky, “Come, gather for the great banquet of God—18to eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of generals and the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and those riding on them, the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great!”19Also I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the One who sat on the horse and against His army.20Then the beast was captured, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs before him by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast, as well as those who had worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.21The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the One riding on the horse. And all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.–from Revelation 19
So in the end which side will you be on? Which decision will you make? We each have to make the decision for ourselves, so choose wisely, because it does matter. Your destiny depends on it!
Will you be a light that shines and points people to God? Will you be salt that points people to God? Will you allow your life to be a living sacrifice that points people to God? Will you be a new creation that testifies to the greatness of God?
Will you be overcomers by the blood of the lamb and the words of your testimonies?
