Are you prepared? Are you equipped? Are you ready?

As you begin today…as you begin each day…are you ready? Are you prepared? Are you equipped? How do you get started to make sure that you are? How do you get started to ensure you are rooted in what you need? How do you get started to make sure you have been equipped?

Today’s reading starts out with a truth so powerful we need to chew on it a bit…

16All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

–from 2 Timothy 3

Do you see the benefits of starting out the day in the Word of God? Do you realize when you read the Bible that it is the Word of God? Do you realize that God inspired in the minds of the righters ever word? No accidents! No mistakes! No discrepancies! All on purpose for a purpose! If we allow God’s Word to interpret God’s Word we can find incredible truth, hope, and trust that will allow us to continue to move forward in ways we could never hoped for nor imagined! We will be instructed, corrected, trained in how we should live and how we can help others to understand those same things. It’s always better to learn from someone else’s experience than to have to walk through each one ourselves. It’s on purpose for the purpose that we will complete and equipped for the good work God has planned and purposed for us to accomplish each day!

Ever seen all those self-help books? Ever seen those flash in the pan idea or programs that don’t stand the test of time? Everyone has the right to their opinions, right? Even when they are wrong! Whose opinion will you trust? One that showed up in the last year, last decade, last century? What if it hasn’t proven to work? What if it hasn’t proven to be true? What if it hasn’t proven to be right? Then what? What if it has stood the test of time? What if it has become the standard? What it is so effective?

Do you realize people are looking for answers? Do you realize people are watching you and trying to see if you are different? if you have something that they want? something they need?

Most people can get what has gone wrong. In general we can be our own worst critic. People are looking for answer! People are looking for ways to correct the wrongs! People are looking for solutions!

Do you know where to point them? Do you know where the answers are? Do you remember what today’s reading said? Let’s revisit…

16All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

–from 2 Timothy 3

God’s Word is useful to teach what is true! Not just some of it, but “All Scripture”! It helps us point to know what is wrong in our lives! It corrects us when we are wrong and teach us what is right and how to do what is right!

Know that test of time I mentioned earlier? The Word of God has lasted the test of time! It has proven to be true and to have impacted so many lives over the history of the world! It has been shown to be helpful! It has been shown to be effective! It has been proven to be true!

So are you prepared? Are you equipped? Are you ready? Do you take time to spend time with God and in God’s Word each day to get you ready for the day that is ahead of you? Why not start today and give it a try? Why not start and see the difference it will make! Not sure where to start? There are many different ways to get started! There are many different strategies to get through it! Checkout the reading plans like those found at bible.com. You can start in Genesis…(Old Testament) or You can start in Matthew…(New Testament). You can start based on a topic you are interested in or a timeline (Chronological). But getting started will speak life into your life! I have had people over the years since I started my blog ask how I pick my reading plans because it was so right on to what I was going through, the cool and miraculous part is that I picked a plan, but God made it speak right into the life I was living! God’s Word never returns void! I remember going through a tough time and then the book of Job came into my reading. I remember thinking, really! With all I have right now, Job is going to be my reading! The miracle of it all was that my last day of my old job happened to be the day I got to the end of Job and read Job 42:12! Wow, what a day! I knew the second half would be twice as good as the first half. 🙂

Will you give the Bible a chance? Will you allow the proven and most published book in history to speak into your life?

God has something important to say to you! He created you on purpose for a purpose and wants you to turn to Him so that He can speak life into your life!

Facing a challenge? Facing a touch decision? Facing a hard question?

What does God say about it?

Remember…(using the New Living Translation, today’s reading is put this way)

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

–from 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)
