The world around us needs hope! The world around us need peace! The world around us needs joy! The world around us needs love! So let’s not grow weary of doing good for at the right time we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up! So we as a church need endurance…
So let’s pray for the church to endure so that we can make an impact in the community and not give up!
We as a church need to encourage one another and the community around us…
9For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. –from 1 Thessalonians 5
We as a church need to walk in unity of the faith so that the world can see it and be able to know the one who sent us…
20“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
–from John 17
Today’s Reading: Romans 15:5
1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. 3For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” 4For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 5May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
Let’s be light in this world! Let’s be a light on a hill that will bring hope to the world around us! Let’s shine brighter as the world gets darker! Let’s not grow weary in doing good work!
