Know someone who is in deep sorrow?

11And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.

Ever found someone who was in a position where they were filled with deep sorrow? A position where they were being put down because they couldn’t do or have something? A position where they were being picked on because they weren’t able to do something? Sometimes even a friend or family member who gives love into the situation may not be enough. Sometimes even receiving a double portion to show how much they are loved won’t be enough to meet that need. We need to call in the big guns! We need to pray! We need God’s help, God’s provision, God’s purpose, God’s plan to show up so that this problem can be addressed!

Today’s Reading: 1 Samuel 1:11

11And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.”

Imagine wanting something so bad that if you got it, you would give it to God. Imagine having a grieving heart for a child to the point where if God gave you a son, you would give him into the hands of God. Imagine a situation where it mean you gave your son to the priest to train in the ways of God and to live there because God met your need and prayer for a son. Imagine the level of pain that this would be your prayer. Imagine the aches of longing for a child that only God could comfort. Imagine it being your daily prayer to God asking for a child. Do you know someone like this? Do you know anyone who needs prayer for such a situation? Let’s lift them up in prayer! If I can pray for you or them, please let me know as I am happy to do so.
