Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness

Boldness…in the face of challenges…

Are you facing challenges? Are you facing trials? Are you facing troubles? Are you facing confrontation? Are you being tested? Are you being questioned? Are you seeing persecution around you? Are you watching others being attacked? Don’t fear! Don’t doubt! Don’t worry! Stand boldly as a messenger of God unafraid to share what Jesus has done in and through you! Give God the praise! Give God the honor! Give God the glory in Jesus’ name!

Today’s Reading: Acts 4:29-30

29And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

Let’s pray to God and be filled to overflowing with the truth, the wisdom, and the power of God! Let’s pray to God and walk and talk with boldness the truth of Him who was crucified and the freedom that it provides for us! Let’s walk following after Jesus, so that by staying close to Him, miracles will be evident because we are with Him! Not looking for miracles, but allow God’s miracles to materialize and be shown in and through your obedience to God! The verse following today’s reading in Acts 4:31 speaks to it this way:

31And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Imagine being questions about a miracle and at the same time being told not to speak of Jesus! Imagine the platform being provided so that You can share the truth, the hope, the love, and the power of Jesus with them. What the enemy may plan for evil, God can turn it around and use it for good!

5On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem, 6with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. 7And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?” 8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, 9if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, 10let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. 11This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. 14But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition. 15But when they had commanded them to leave the council, they conferred with one another, 16saying, “What shall we do with these men? For that a notable sign has been performed through them is evident to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.” 18So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 20for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” 21And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all were praising God for what had happened. 22For the man on whom this sign of healing was performed was more than forty years old.
–from Acts 4:5-22

Be ready to share! Don’t worry about what you will say for in the right time God will give you the words to speak!

11“When they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you are to speak in your defense, or what you are to say; 12for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” –from Luke 12

18and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19“But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. 20“For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. –from Matthew 10

So today go forth with boldness! Today go forward with wisdom! Today go forward in obedience!

27“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. –from Matthew 6

25Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad. –from Proverbs 12

30“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ –from Matthew 6

5Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. –from Philippians 4

25“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? –from Matthew 6

31“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32“For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. –from Matthew 6

6Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. –from 1 Peter 5

Worry changes nothing! Prayer changes everything! Worrying isn’t any good for you either! Let’s keep our focus on the right thing and in the right direction! Don’t waste your energy on things that won’t add up! Trust in God! Let’s be filled with faith rather than worry! Let’s let our faith fill us to overflowing!
