Jesus the Way to the Father
1“Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them. “Believe in God and believe also in me. 2There are many rooms in my Father’s house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. 3And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am. 4You know the way that leads to the place where I am going.” 5Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; so how can we know the way to get there?” 6Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me. 7Now that you have known me,” he said to them, “you will know my Father also, and from now on you do know him and you have seen him.” 8Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father; that is all we need.” 9Jesus answered, “For a long time I have been with you all; yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Why, then, do you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Do you not believe, Philip, that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I have spoken to you,” Jesus said to his disciples, “do not come from me. The Father, who remains in me, does his own work. 11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. If not, believe because of the things I do. 12I am telling you the truth: those who believe in me will do what I do—yes, they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. 14If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.
–from John 14
So will you choose to align yourself with Jesus? Will you walk in His ways? Will you build that relationship with Him so that you may be a part of His hands extended into this world and get to share in the serving? Will you trust Him enough to ask in His name? Will you trust enough to allow your work, your life, your words, and your actions be in His name? Let’s live to glorify God in Jesus’ name! And let’s do it now before it is too late! Let’s share it now before the end is here! Let’s spread the news for it is good!
Today’s reading continues and sets my heart on fire, it makes me cry for I want everyone I know to be saved, I don’t want anyone to have to go through the alternative end point. And so I share each day the reading God brings to me. The reason for this site and the title is because back in 2005 I was going to start a blog and I had an encounter with God who told me I was to make it public and to publish it to the world. That made me rethink my plans and purpose for the blog. And so I started posting my morning reading time notes. Each year as I pick different reading plans, a day comes when I get to the book of Revelation. Each year I reflect on where we are as a world and what I remember from the previous times reading this book. Each time it feels closer to the return. Each time I praise God that I know He will be victorious! Each time I cry and pray for all those I know and for those I will meet for I know that there is only one way for us to all make it and it is Jesus!
1This book is the record of the events that Jesus Christ revealed. God gave him this revelation in order to show to his servants what must happen very soon. Christ made these things known to his servant John by sending his angel to him, 2and John has told all that he has seen. This is his report concerning the message from God and the truth revealed by Jesus Christ. 3Happy is the one who reads this book, and happy are those who listen to the words of this prophetic message and obey what is written in this book! For the time is near when all these things will happen.
Greetings to the Seven Churches
4From John to the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace be yours from God, who is, who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits in front of his throne, 5and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first to be raised from death and who is also the ruler of the kings of the world. He loves us, and by his sacrificial death he has freed us from our sins 6and made us a kingdom of priests to serve his God and Father. To Jesus Christ be the glory and power forever and ever! Amen. 7Look, he is coming on the clouds! Everyone will see him, including those who pierced him. All peoples on earth will mourn over him. So shall it be! 8“I am the first and the last,” says the Lord God Almighty, who is, who was, and who is to come.
–from Revelation 1
Turn to Jesus! Go to Jesus! Jesus is the answer, no matter the question or the circumstance! Seek Him with all your heart, mind, and strength and you will find Him. He will provide wisdom, without finding fault! Without Jesus our advocate, our prince of peace, our king of Kings, it is hard to find answers…God wants a relationship with us where we know His character and His heart…
1-2I still rebel and complain against God; I cannot keep from groaning. 3How I wish I knew where to find him, and knew how to go where he is. 4I would state my case before him and present all the arguments in my favor. 5I want to know what he would say and how he would answer me. 6Would God use all his strength against me? No, he would listen as I spoke. 7I am honest; I could reason with God; he would declare me innocent once and for all. 8I have searched in the East, but God is not there; I have not found him when I searched in the West. 9God has been at work in the North and the South, but still I have not seen him. 10Yet God knows every step I take; if he tests me, he will find me pure. 11I follow faithfully the road he chooses, and never wander to either side. 12I always do what God commands; I follow his will, not my own desires. 13He never changes. No one can oppose him or stop him from doing what he wants to do. 14He will fulfill what he has planned for me; that plan is just one of the many he has; 15I tremble with fear before him. 16-17Almighty God has destroyed my courage. It is God, not the dark, that makes me afraid—even though the darkness has made me blind.
–from Job 23
So let’s build our relationship with Jesus! Let’ allow our relationship with Him to develop and flourish! Let’s allow our lives to be an overflow of all that He pours into our lives!
God has a plan! His plan is good! Jesus will be back to complete the plan! So let’s make sure we are all on the same team! Let’s be living the life God desires for us! Let’s make sure we are walking with Him and not apart nor away from Him!
1This is the message which the Lord gave Hosea son of Beeri during the time that Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah, and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel.
Hosea’s Wife and Children
2When the Lord first spoke to Israel through Hosea, he said to Hosea, “Go and get married; your wife will be unfaithful, and your children will be just like her. In the same way my people have left me and become unfaithful.” 3So Hosea married a woman named Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim. After the birth of their first child, a son, 4the Lord said to Hosea, “Name him ‘Jezreel,’ because it will not be long before I punish the king of Israel for the murders that his ancestor Jehu committed at Jezreel. I am going to put an end to Jehu’s dynasty. 5And in Jezreel Valley I will at that time destroy Israel’s military power.” 6Gomer had a second child—this time it was a daughter. The Lord said to Hosea, “Name her ‘Unloved,’ because I will no longer show love to the people of Israel or forgive them. 7But to the people of Judah I will show love. I, the Lord their God, will save them, but I will not do it by war—with swords or bows and arrows or with horses and horsemen.” 8After Gomer had weaned her daughter, she became pregnant again and had another son. 9The Lord said to Hosea, “Name him ‘Not-My-People,’ because the people of Israel are not my people, and I am not their God.”
Israel Is to Be Restored
10The people of Israel will become like the sand of the sea, more than can be counted or measured. Now God says to them, “You are not my people,” but the day is coming when he will say to them, “You are the children of the living God!” 11The people of Judah and the people of Israel will be reunited. They will choose for themselves a single leader, and once again they will grow and prosper in their land. Yes, the day of Jezreel will be a great day!
–from Hosea 1
1So call your fellow Israelites “God’s People” and “Loved-by-the-Lord.”
Unfaithful Gomer—Unfaithful Israel
2My children, plead with your mother—though she is no longer a wife to me, and I am no longer her husband. Plead with her to stop her adultery and prostitution. 3If she does not, I will strip her as naked as she was on the day she was born. I will make her like a dry and barren land, and she will die of thirst. 4-5I will not show mercy to her children; they are the children of a shameless prostitute. She herself said, “I will go to my lovers—they give me food and water, wool and linen, olive oil and wine.” 6So I am going to fence her in with thorn bushes and build a wall to block her way. 7She will run after her lovers but will not catch them. She will look for them but will not find them. Then she will say, “I am going back to my first husband—I was better off then than I am now.” 8She would never acknowledge that I am the one who gave her the grain, the wine, the olive oil, and all the silver and gold that she used in the worship of Baal. 9So at harvest time I will take back my gifts of grain and wine, and will take away the wool and the linen I gave her for clothing. 10I will strip her naked in front of her lovers, and no one will be able to save her from my power. 11I will put an end to all her festivities—her annual and monthly festivals and her Sabbath celebrations—all her religious meetings. 12I will destroy her grapevines and her fig trees, which she said her lovers gave her for serving them. I will turn her vineyards and orchards into a wilderness; wild animals will destroy them. 13I will punish her for the times that she forgot me, when she burned incense to Baal and put on her jewelry to go chasing after her lovers. The Lord has spoken.
The Lord’s Love for His People
14So I am going to take her into the desert again; there I will win her back with words of love. 15I will give back to her the vineyards she had and make Trouble Valley a door of hope. She will respond to me there as she did when she was young, when she came from Egypt. 16Then once again she will call me her husband—she will no longer call me her Baal. 17I will never let her speak the name of Baal again. 18At that time I will make a covenant with all the wild animals and birds, so that they will not harm my people. I will also remove all weapons of war from the land, all swords and bows, and will let my people live in peace and safety. 19Israel, I will make you my wife; I will be true and faithful; I will show you constant love and mercy and make you mine forever. 20I will keep my promise and make you mine, and you will acknowledge me as Lord. 21-22At that time I will answer the prayers of my people Israel. I will make rain fall on the earth, and the earth will produce grain and grapes and olives. 23I will establish my people in the land and make them prosper. I will show love to those who were called “Unloved,” and to those who were called “Not-My-People” I will say, “You are my people,” and they will answer, “You are our God.”
–from Hosea 2
Hosea and the Unfaithful Woman
1The Lord said to me, “Go again and show your love for a woman who is committing adultery with a lover. You must love her just as I still love the people of Israel, even though they turn to other gods and like to take offerings of raisins to idols.” 2So I paid fifteen pieces of silver and seven bushels of barley to buy her. 3I told her that for a long time she would have to wait for me without being a prostitute or committing adultery; and during this time I would wait for her. 4In just this way the people of Israel will have to live for a long time without kings or leaders, without sacrifices or sacred stone pillars, without idols or images to use for divination. 5But the time will come when the people of Israel will once again turn to the Lord their God and to a descendant of David their king. Then they will fear the Lord and will receive his good gifts.
–from Hosea 3
