Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you don’t matter! No matter what you do or what you have done! No matter where you are or where you have been! No matter how you got there! You matter! God created you on purpose with a purpose! He also created you with a freewill so that you get to choose! You can choose to turn to God and receive the incredible gift that He has provided! You can choose to reject that gift! You can choose… God so loves the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever will believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting aka eternal life with God! Jesus loves us so much that He was obedient to death on a cross in order to provide us a way to be reconciled back to God! Jesus defeated death and on the third day He rose from the dead! That is why we celebrate not only the death (Good Friday) but also the resurrection (Easter). You matter so much that God even before you were born provided a way for you and me to get right with God! You matter to God! Don’t miss out on the opportunity!
Don’t allow lies and deception to keep you from the reality that you do matter!
Today’s reading shows how what some people think doesn’t matter because what is most important is what God thinks!
Jesus and Zacchaeus
1Jesus went on into Jericho and was passing through. 2There was a chief tax collector there named Zacchaeus, who was rich. 3He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he was a little man and could not see Jesus because of the crowd. 4So he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, who was going to pass that way. 5When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to Zacchaeus, “Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today.” 6Zacchaeus hurried down and welcomed him with great joy. 7All the people who saw it started grumbling, “This man has gone as a guest to the home of a sinner!” 8Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Listen, sir! I will give half my belongings to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay back four times as much.” 9Jesus said to him, “Salvation has come to this house today, for this man, also, is a descendant of Abraham. 10The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
–from Luke 19

BECAUSE YOU MATTER!
We need to pick up the torch and start live different lives! We need to allow our actions to speak louder than words! We need to be living in alignment with God’s purpose and plan for our lives! We need to choose to follow after Him! Because it matters! Today’s reading continues in Titus where it calls out how much it matters how we live!
10For there are many, especially the converts from Judaism, who rebel and deceive others with their nonsense. 11It is necessary to stop their talk, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching what they should not, and all for the shameful purpose of making money. 12-13It was a Cretan himself, one of their own prophets, who spoke the truth when he said, “Cretans are always liars, wicked beasts, and lazy gluttons.” For this reason you must rebuke them sharply, so that they may have a healthy faith 14and no longer hold on to Jewish legends and to human commandments which come from people who have rejected the truth. 15Everything is pure to those who are themselves pure; but nothing is pure to those who are defiled and unbelieving, for their minds and consciences have been defiled. 16They claim that they know God, but their actions deny it. They are hateful and disobedient, not fit to do anything good. –from Titus 1
We need to live what we believe! We need have our actions speak to what we believe and know to be truth! Let’s not do anything that would separate us or others from God! We don’t want to be a trip up for someone else! Let’s be encouragement! Let’s be helpful and hopeful for those around us! Let’s speak the love, the grace, and the hope of Jesus into the lives of those around us! Do you know why?
BECAUSE THEY MATTER TO GOD TOO!
When you aren’t sure what to do, check out God’s Word! Seek Wisdom, for He give it out generously and without finding fault!Today’s reading continues into the book of Proverbs and shares this wisdom with us!
19Evil people will have to bow down to the righteous and humbly beg their favor. 20No one likes the poor, not even their neighbors, but the rich have many friends. 21If you want to be happy, be kind to the poor; it is a sin to despise anyone. 22You will earn the trust and respect of others if you work for good; if you work for evil, you are making a mistake. 23Work and you will earn a living; if you sit around talking you will be poor. 24Wise people are rewarded with wealth, but fools are known by their foolishness. 25A witness saves lives when he tells the truth; when he tells lies, he betrays people. 26Reverence for the Lord gives confidence and security to a man and his family. 27Do you want to avoid death? Reverence for the Lord is a fountain of life. 28A king’s greatness depends on how many people he rules; without them he is nothing. 29If you stay calm, you are wise, but if you have a hot temper, you only show how stupid you are. 30Peace of mind makes the body healthy, but jealousy is like a cancer. 31If you oppress poor people, you insult the God who made them; but kindness shown to the poor is an act of worship. 32Wicked people bring about their own downfall by their evil deeds, but good people are protected by their integrity. 33Wisdom is in every thought of intelligent people; fools know nothing about wisdom. 34Righteousness makes a nation great; sin is a disgrace to any nation. 35Kings are pleased with competent officials, but they punish those who fail them. –from Proverbs 14
