Do you realize how important you are to God?

God's Word is a love letter to help us

Are you trying to find yourself? Are you trying to go and figure it all out on your own? Do you think you know it all and are leaving your parents to be able to do it your way? If you want to go and do it your way, make sure you go with God! It will ensure you aren’t playing on or in the fringe. It will make sure that you find what you are looking for and needing. Going it alone without God leaves you open to the tests of the devil and his temptations. If you have already gone it your way without God, it’s never too late to turn back to Him. Actually today’s reading starts out on that subject. Take a look at this…

The Lost Son

11Jesus went on to say, “There was once a man who had two sons. 12The younger one said to him, ‘Father, give me my share of the property now.’ So the man divided his property between his two sons. 13After a few days the younger son sold his part of the property and left home with the money. He went to a country far away, where he wasted his money in reckless living. 14He spent everything he had. Then a severe famine spread over that country, and he was left without a thing. 15So he went to work for one of the citizens of that country, who sent him out to his farm to take care of the pigs. 16He wished he could fill himself with the bean pods the pigs ate, but no one gave him anything to eat. 17At last he came to his senses and said, ‘All my father’s hired workers have more than they can eat, and here I am about to starve! 18I will get up and go to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against God and against you. 19I am no longer fit to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired workers.”’ 20So he got up and started back to his father.“He was still a long way from home when his father saw him; his heart was filled with pity, and he ran, threw his arms around his son, and kissed him. 21‘Father,’ the son said, ‘I have sinned against God and against you. I am no longer fit to be called your son.’ 22But the father called to his servants. ‘Hurry!’ he said. ‘Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and shoes on his feet. 23Then go and get the prize calf and kill it, and let us celebrate with a feast! 24For this son of mine was dead, but now he is alive; he was lost, but now he has been found.’ And so the feasting began. 25“In the meantime the older son was out in the field. On his way back, when he came close to the house, he heard the music and dancing. 26So he called one of the servants and asked him, ‘What’s going on?’ 27‘Your brother has come back home,’ the servant answered, ‘and your father has killed the prize calf, because he got him back safe and sound.’ 28The older brother was so angry that he would not go into the house; so his father came out and begged him to come in. 29But he spoke back to his father, ‘Look, all these years I have worked for you like a slave, and I have never disobeyed your orders. What have you given me? Not even a goat for me to have a feast with my friends! 30But this son of yours wasted all your property on prostitutes, and when he comes back home, you kill the prize calf for him!’ 31‘My son,’ the father answered, ‘you are always here with me, and everything I have is yours. 32But we had to celebrate and be happy, because your brother was dead, but now he is alive; he was lost, but now he has been found.’” –from Luke 15

How far down do you have to get before you will turn back to God? How are away do you have to go before you turn back to God? Even if you are off by a small degree from the path God wanted, with every step you get further and further way. Imagine if you happened to discover you were going the wrong way and were actually heading in the totally wrong direction. Wouldn’t it be better to just turn around?

Have you stayed on the path God has for you? Don’t be upset that God forgives for we need to ambassadors of forgiveness in this world. Let’s all celebrate that people’s lives are being restored out of love, God’s love. Let’s join in with the angels with they celebrate the salvation of others. They were spiritually dead but now are alive! They were spiritually lost but now are found.

Let’s allow to be the day! If you were lost, let today be the day that you find the hope, the love, and the reason for Jesus, that we can be saved. If you were walking in alignment, let today be the day that you celebrate, encourage, embrace those who are struggling and trying to find their way by welcoming them home, by pointing them home as God’s example shows up.

God is calling you! God is offering His wisdom if you will take time to listen! His Word never returns void. We are to be in a relationship with Him and as such we should be communicating with Him. God’s Word tells us that we are to pray without ceasing, that’s right take every step of every day with God! You don’t need me to tell you what God says! Jesus was there at the beginning. Seek wisdom! Today’s reading continues into the book of Proverbs…

1Listen! Wisdom is calling out. Reason is making herself heard.
2On the hilltops near the road and at the crossroads she stands.
3At the entrance to the city, beside the gates, she calls:
4“I appeal to all of you; I call to everyone on earth.
5Are you immature? Learn to be mature. Are you foolish? Learn to have sense.
6Listen to my excellent words; all I tell you is right.
7What I say is the truth; lies are hateful to me.
8Everything I say is true; nothing is false or misleading.
9To those with insight, it is all clear; to the well-informed, it is all plain.
10Choose my instruction instead of silver; choose knowledge rather than the finest gold.
11“I am Wisdom, I am better than jewels; nothing you want can compare with me.
12I am Wisdom, and I have insight; I have knowledge and sound judgment.
13To honor the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil ways and false words.
14I make plans and carry them out. I have understanding, and I am strong.
15I help kings to govern and rulers to make good laws.
16Every ruler on earth governs with my help, officials and nobles alike.
17I love those who love me; whoever looks for me can find me.
18I have riches and honor to give, prosperity and success.
19What you get from me is better than the finest gold, better than the purest silver.
20I walk the way of righteousness; I follow the paths of justice,
21giving wealth to those who love me, filling their houses with treasures.
22“The Lord created me first of all, the first of his works, long ago.
23I was made in the very beginning, at the first, before the world began.
24I was born before the oceans, when there were no springs of water.
25I was born before the mountains, before the hills were set in place,
26before God made the earth and its fields or even the first handful of soil.
27I was there when he set the sky in place, when he stretched the horizon across the ocean,
28when he placed the clouds in the sky, when he opened the springs of the ocean
29and ordered the waters of the sea to rise no further than he said. I was there when he laid the earth’s foundations.
30I was beside him like an architect, I was his daily source of joy, always happy in his presence—
31happy with the world and pleased with the human race.
32“Now, young people, listen to me. Do as I say, and you will be happy.
33Listen to what you are taught. Be wise; do not neglect it.
34Those who listen to me will be happy—those who stay at my door every day, waiting at the entrance to my home.
35Those who find me find life, and the Lord will be pleased with them.
36Those who do not find me hurt themselves; anyone who hates me loves death.”
