Catching up…What God’s Word says…

If you get the memo, will you listen? I remember getting the memo and thinking I was so comfortable that I didn’t leave. Big mistake as the org imploded and I was stuck going through some very challenging times as I was separated from the people that I had been working for and with. If you get the memo, I recommend you listen! The second memo I got was in a morning reading to get out of the boat, I took it and obeyed! This Word comes to me from 2 Kings 8 – The Woman from Shunem Returns. (v1-6)

Do you trust the messenger? You sent them right? To get you an answer right? Did you choose wisely? I tend to tell people to not shoot the messenger or you will stop getting messages. The key is to trust the messenger. We see that is the key here for the messenger in today’s reading wasn’t trust worthy and killed the king. 2 Kings 8 – Elisha and King Benhadad of Syria (v7-15)

Walk with God! In obedience to His Word and His calling on your life! Walking away produces pain and suffering you were never intended to have to go through. 2 Kings 8 – King Jehoram of Judah, King Ahaziah of Judah (v16-29)

When you are called, will you receive it and answer? Will complete the work God has called you to accomplish and complete? Things will go well for you if you do! If you don’t get it all done, then you will face the pain of the remnant working against you and God’s plans. 2 Kings 9 – Jehu Is Anointed King of Israel, King Joram of Israel Is Killed, King Ahaziah of Judah Is Killed, Queen Jezebel Is Killed, 2 Kings 10 – The Descendants of Ahab Are Killed, The Relatives of King Ahaziah Are Killed, All Remaining Relatives of Ahab Are Killed, The Worshipers of Baal Are Killed, The Death of Jehu

It isn’t a matter of age, it’s a matter of calling and obedience. It makes a huge difference how we respond. Imagine becoming king at the age of 7. 2 Kings 11 – Queen Athaliah of Judah, Jehoiada’s Reforms

It’s a matter of obedience to your calling. It’s a matter of doing what God desires not your own selfish ones. It’s amazing what God can do in and through you when you let Him! 2 Kings 12 – King Joash of Judah

The pendulum of history shows when things go well and when things go bad. When people decide their predecessor it can either continue the good or the evil that was taking place. When people decide to change direction from their predecessor it can either turn evil to good or good to evil. If you are part of the transforming part, be sure to do what God says for He has a purpose and a plan! His plans are for good. To take what the enemy has planned for evil and turn it around and use it for good! 2 Kings 13 – King Jehoahaz of Israel, King Jehoash of Israel, The Death of Elisha, War between Israel and Syria

It’s important to go all the way! When we only go part way, that remnant can come back and bite us in the butt later. 2 Kings 14 – King Amaziah of Judah, The Death of King Amaziah of Judah, King Jeroboam II of Israel

It’s also important that we raise up our children in the way they should go, so that they know the difference between right and wrong.  2 Kings 15 – King Uzziah of Judah, King Zechariah of Israel, King Shallum of Israel, King Menahem of Israel, King Pekahiah of Israel, King Pekah of Israel, King Jotham of Judah
