The reality is that if we let LOVE direct our path, we will think the right things, we will do the right things, and we will say the right things. Jesus puts it this way:
“The most important one is this: ‘Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second most important commandment is this: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment more important than these two.”
The love of God will keep our eyes on His priorities, His plans, His will in our lives! The love of God will help us to keep His commandments! The love of God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength helps keep us focused on what is most important.
The love for our neighbor is an overflow of the love of God! We are to love because God first loved us! God so loved the world that He sent His one and only son that we can be reconciled back to Him and saved for eternity! He will give that much, our love for others becomes an overflow into the lives of every person who crosses our path each and every day, because they are all our neighbors.
How will love overflow from your life? Love came down for a season as a reconciliatory! Let’s follow in His tracks and help others be reconciled…to each other and to God!
How will love for our neighbors materialize? Will we help them? Will see the needs even without being asked? Let’s allow love overflow and drive our actions in our communities. Let’s be lights that shine into a dark and hopeless world with love and joy and peace and hope that others may come to know the one who gives us love and fills us up to overflowing! Let’s be generous! Let’s sow generously that we may see an great harvest for the glory of God’s kingdom! God will provide for all our needs! We need to remember and realize that God gives to us that we may be part of His plan! We need to remember that everything is God’s and everything comes from God! God will put it in our hearts! So that we won’t be giving out of compulsion, but rather out of the desire of our heart! We need to be joyful givers as we give!
5So I thought it was necessary to urge these believers to go to you ahead of me and get ready in advance the gift you promised to make. Then it will be ready when I arrive, and it will show that you give because you want to, not because you have to.
6Remember that the person who plants few seeds will have a small crop; the one who plants many seeds will have a large crop. 7You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly. 8And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause.
9As the scripture says,
“He gives generously to the needy; his kindness lasts forever.”
10And God, who supplies seed for the sower and bread to eat, will also supply you with all the seed you need and will make it grow and produce a rich harvest from your generosity. 11He will always make you rich enough to be generous at all times, so that many will thank God for your gifts which they receive from us. 12For this service you perform not only meets the needs of God’s people, but also produces an outpouring of gratitude to God. 13And because of the proof which this service of yours brings, many will give glory to God for your loyalty to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else. 14And so with deep affection they will pray for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown you. 15Let us thank God for his priceless gift! –from 2 Corinthians 9
So let’s celebrate LOVE! GOD is LOVE! So let’s celebrate GOD!
1Praise the Lord, my soul!
O Lord, my God, how great you are!
You are clothed with majesty and glory;
2you cover yourself with light.
You have spread out the heavens like a tent
3and built your home on the waters above.
You use the clouds as your chariot
and ride on the wings of the wind.
You use the winds as your messengers
and flashes of lightning as your servants.
5You have set the earth firmly on its foundations,
and it will never be moved.
6You placed the ocean over it like a robe,
and the water covered the mountains.
7When you rebuked the waters, they fled;
they rushed away when they heard your shout of command.
8They flowed over the mountains and into the valleys,
to the place you had made for them.
9You set a boundary they can never pass,
to keep them from covering the earth again.
10You make springs flow in the valleys,
and rivers run between the hills.
11They provide water for the wild animals;
there the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12In the trees near by,
the birds make their nests and sing.
13From the sky you send rain on the hills,
and the earth is filled with your blessings.
14You make grass grow for the cattle
and plants for us to use,
so that we can grow our crops
15and produce wine to make us happy,
olive oil to make us cheerful,
and bread to give us strength.
16The cedars of Lebanon get plenty of rain—
the Lord’s own trees, which he planted.
17There the birds build their nests;
the storks nest in the fir trees.
18The wild goats live in the high mountains,
and the rock badgers hide in the cliffs.
19You created the moon to mark the months;
the sun knows the time to set.
20You made the night, and in the darkness
all the wild animals come out.
21The young lions roar while they hunt,
looking for the food that God provides.
22When the sun rises, they go back
and lie down in their dens.
23Then people go out to do their work
and keep working until evening.
24Lord, you have made so many things!
How wisely you made them all!
The earth is filled with your creatures.
25There is the ocean, large and wide,
where countless creatures live,
large and small alike.
The ships sail on it, and in it plays Leviathan,
that sea monster which you made.
27All of them depend on you
to give them food when they need it.
28You give it to them, and they eat it;
you provide food, and they are satisfied.
29When you turn away, they are afraid;
when you take away your breath, they die
and go back to the dust from which they came.
30But when you give them breath,
they are created;
you give new life to the earth.
31May the glory of the Lord last forever!
May the Lord be happy with what he has made!
32He looks at the earth, and it trembles;
he touches the mountains, and they pour out smoke.
33I will sing to the Lord all my life;
as long as I live I will sing praises to my God.
34May he be pleased with my song,
for my gladness comes from him.
35May sinners be destroyed from the earth;
may the wicked be no more.
Praise the Lord, my soul!
Praise the Lord!
