8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. — 2 Timothy 4:8
The devil wants to load you up with doubt and fear. God’s plan is to fill you up with hope and faith. Faith is the antidote to fear. Hope is the antidote to doubt. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and follow after Him through the highs and the lows, the trials and the temptations, the losses and the victories, and life, we have the promise living in us of what is to come. Eternity with God in Heaven. God’s Word gives us the promise that nothing – nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable – absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus has embraced us.
“Know, then, that if thou couldst fly across thou wouldst see written upon one of its many mansions, “This remaineth for such a one; preserved for him only. He shall be caught up to dwell forever with God.” Poor doubting one, see the fair inheritance; it is thine. If thou believest in the Lord Jesus, if thou hast repented of sin, if thou hast been renewed in heart, thou art one of the Lord’s people, and there is a place reserved for thee, a crown laid up for thee, a harp specially provided for thee. No one else shall have thy portion, it is reserved in heaven for thee, and thou shalt have it ere long, for there shall be no vacant thrones in glory when all the chosen are gathered in.” – Day 10
So rather than allowing the devil to put doubt or fear in your head, don’t be afraid and put your trust and hope in God. God’s Word tells us:
So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. — Luke 12:32
So let’s be more than overcomers of fear of this world, because we have a good shepherd who protects us and who loves us.
I thank You Lord for this new day and for everything that is within it. I thank You Lord that You can do infinitely more than I could ever ask or imagine and that Your plans are better than my plans and will work together for good. My eyes are on You for You are the author and perfector of my faith. With You all things are possible. With You I know I have an inheritance that can’t be stolen or taken away, it can’t be rusted nor eaten up by moths. As I prepare for this day Lord, please go before me and prepare in advance the good work that You have planned for me to do and give me the wisdom and the courage to know and to do what You are calling me to do today. May my testimony of Your greatness and my day today bring You praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
