1Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! 2God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. Psalm 53:1-2
25One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” 26Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” 27The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” ( Deut 6:5; Lev 19:18.) 28“Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!” Luke 10:25-28
So let’s put first things first! Let’s not allow the urgent to take precedence over the urgent. Let’s not allow the petty situations take our focus off of God. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus so that the storms of life, the waves, the situations don’t create fear or cause us to stumble, fall, or sink. Let’s stick close to Jesus. Let’s stay in His presence rather than walking on our own wandering in the wilderness of life and being tormented and lied to by the devil. Let’s follow the path that He is leading us down rather than getting to the fork in the road and going our own way rather than being obedient and pursuing His dreams and visions, His plans and purpose for our lives. His ways are better than our ways. His ways are higher than our ways. So don’t give up for He will go with You, He will never leave you nor abandon you, He goes before You to prepare in advance the good work He desires for you to do, He walks behind You to watch your back, and He walks beside you every step of the way.
In TGIF today, Os says:
Do we understand, really understand? That is the question God raises to each of us today. If we understand, then why do we spend day after day toiling and fretting over what doesn’t matter? Can we set proper boundaries in our lives that don’t allow our time with Him to be continually stolen away? It is a challenge in a world that screams “activity, activity!” — Seekers of God by Os Hillman
So will you make time for God? Will you schedule time so that you can build up that relationship? As God’s Word says:
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. Jeremiah 32:38-41
Today is the day to get things started. Let’s consider what is truly important. Let’s give our all to God. And let’s allow Him to speak to and through us.References:

I thank You Lord for this new day and Your Word that speaks life and hope to me. Lord, help me today in everything I do to be focused on Your plan and purpose and not get distracted by the world, the petty things, the urgent but rather keep my eyes on the important. I pray patience and protection Lord for this day and that in and through it all You will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
