Are you able to sleep well? Where does your help come from?

As for me and my house we will trust and serve the Lord.

Ever have nights where you can’t sleep? Your mind is racing, your heart is pumping? Either pre-occupied out of fear or worry? Looking for a way to find peace and be able to rest? What do you do? Where do you turn? Do you make lists…does that help? does that last? Do you just get up and try to do something else? Do you try to exercise and tire yourself out more so that you can sleep?

In my case, I pray. God’s Word provides wisdom and insight into how much God loves and cares for us. It tells us to cast our cares upon God because He cares for us.When I give them up to Him in faith, trusting and believing that He will be there for me, there is a peace that goes beyond understanding that allows the rest from the concerns, worries, and fears of this world created by the lies of the devil to keep us from fully entering into the joy that God wants us to have. When I am going through challenges, spending time daily in God’s Word plants seeds of hope into my life and speak life and truth to encourage me and help me through the day.

God promises us peace. He has a purpose and a plan for each of us. Will you receive it? Do you trust Him?

Are you doing things to lift you up and tire yourself out? Are you giving it up to God so that He can get all the praise, the honor, and the glory?

As in everything, we have been given a freewill and it is up to us to choose.
So choose wisely.

Fearful to Fearless

I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will rid the land of wild animals and keep your enemies out of your land.

Leviticus 26:06 (NLT)

Biblical Truth:

We are saved by the power and promises of God, let His peace replace your fear and worry and keep you safe.

Today’s Devotion: Are You Exhausted, Or Is Jesus Exalted?

6But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

Romans 7:6

Prayer Starter:

God, I don’t want to be too exhausted to obey Your promptings. I choose to follow Your plans and exalt You in my life.

from Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life – a Daily Devotional

Today’s Prayer – From the Presidential Prayer Team Prayer Wall

Father we pray for a visitation of Your Spirit, the weight of Your presence and Kingdom, come visit our leaders. May our leaders not be found: not be numbered with the stiff-necked, stubborn, unrepentant ones. Visit them in their sleep, frustrate any plans to do the enemy’s will. Deliver those who inherited, strong delusions, futile worthless beliefs in false gods. Show them their error, compel them to see where they are. Release them from captivity. Thank You Lord for Your faithfulness and abundant mercy

Heavenly Father,
I thank You for this new day and for all that is within it. I praise You Lord for You are my strength that helps me make it through each day. I praise You Lord for you are wisdom to map out each day. I praise You Lord for You are my hope for I know that You are covering me and my marriage and my family. I praise You Lord, for You are where my hope comes from. Help me today I pray to accomplish and complete the work that is ahead of me. Help me I pray to bring together the right people, the right information, and the right work to exalt You rather than exhaust myself. It may seem too big or too much, but I know Lord that compared to You all things are small and with You all things are possible. So I give this day up to You that in every thought, every word, and every action, You will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Where is your heart today?

Is your heart in a place where you are filled with joy and hope? Are you in a place where your hearts desire is to serve others? Is your heart filled with junk that is causing you to resent serving? Is your heart in a bad place which is causing you to do wrong things to others?

We have a chance and we have a choice to get our hearts cleaned up. We can ask Jesus into our hearts and He will move in and clean out all the junk that has been piling up over the day, weeks, months, or even years. He will free us up for the stuff that comes out of us is from the overflow of our heart. So let’s ask God to help us clean up our hearts and minds so that we don’t have thoughts or feelings that keep us from accomplishing the good things God desires from us. Let’s choose to align the desires of our heart with God’s will so that we can receive His peace and joy, His wisdom and discernment, His dreams and visions. As we draw near to God, God will draw near to us. When we humble ourselves and call out to God, He will hear our prayers.

Fearful to Fearless

Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 25:17 (KJV)

Biblical Truth:

When God reigns in your life, your heart should have no desire to wrong another or take advantage for your own personal gain or vengeance.

Today’s Devotional: The Wrong Kind of ‘Martyr’

3But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.

Matthew 6:3

Prayer Starter:

Holy Spirit, show me if I’ve fallen into the martyr trap. I want to have Your heart for service so that I can give to others the way You want me to, selflessly and with Your joy.

from Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life – a Daily Devotional

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I lift it up to You and ask Lord that You take my hand and guide me through in a way that will accomplish Your will and bring You praise, honor, and glory. Lord, Your Word tells us that we are
more than overcomers thanks to Christ and so Lord, as I press forward today and work to complete the work You have before me, I ask Lord first for wisdom. Wisdom to hear and understand what is necessary. I also ask Lord for discernment to ensure I understand what is really being said and asked for. Help me today Lord to live a life that is honoring to You. May every thought, word, and action bring You praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Today’s Prayer – From the Presidential Prayer Team Prayer Wall

Heavenly Father, Will you be with President Obama, our Government Leaders, and our Men and Women in the Military today? Will you remind them that peace can only come through full surrender to you? Will you be with those who are fighting to keep us safe and protected? Some may be frightened and feel all alone. Will your remind them that you are with them and willing to help them as they cry out to you? Are we faithful in praying for them and for our Leaders?

Don’t be intimidated.

Intimidation is used to create doubt and fear.

These are not weapons of God but of the devil. When we consider what we are doing and who we are doing it for, it bring great clarity around how we should act and respond. Are you in a position of authority and need to make a decision? Will you make a decision in a way to please people? Will you make a decision based on principles? Will you make a decision based on ensuring that it is honest and just?

When you consider why you are doing things, it is for the applause of people or God? God has created you with a plan and a purpose. Are you pursuing that or giving into intimidation so that you are trying to please people rather than accomplishing God’s purpose in and through your life? We have each been created as individuals, unique, one of a kind. When you consider that, of course people are going to criticize or consider you different. When we walk based on principles and values, we will find that we can not only move forward, but also that we end the day being able to live with ourselves. Don’t be lead astray by what is “popular” or what is “common”, but live the life God created you to live so that in and through your life, you will be raising the “average”.

When the battle over who you are begins, it can try to rip you apart and keep you from succeeding. If you heart is saying one thing and your mind is saying another, there is a division and a house divide can’t stand and will fall. So don’t just go with the flow. Don’t just follow the crowd. Don’t be just a people pleaser.

BE THE PERSON THAT GOD CREATED YOU TO BE!

You will find strength, hope, encouragement, vision, direction, peace, joy, and an energy that goes beyond all explanation.

Don’t be intimidated! Be yourself! Be a God pleaser!

Fearful to Fearless

Be honest and just when you make decisions in legal cases; do not show favoritism to the poor or fear the rich.

Leviticus 19:15 (GNT)

Biblical Truth:

Wisdom permits us to discern the truth which allows us to become fearless to intimidation.

Today’s Devotional:
Be a God-Pleaser, Not a Man-Pleaser

10Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

Galatians 1:10

Prayer Starter:

God, I don’t want to live trying to please men. I dare to be different. I want to win Your favor and be the person You made me to be.

from Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life – a Daily Devotional

Dear God I uplift the prayers on this prayer wall. YOU know what is best for us and our nation. I pray for our government leaders to listen to their hearts and conscience; and not their political ambitions. Dear God, only we the people can bring this nation back to a Godly Nation. We read YOUR Word but we also need to have faith in YOU and do our part by setting good examples to others. I pray that through YOU, GOD our leaders will be honest. I pray for peace in Israel and around YOUR World. I know that YOU are still in control. Amen

Build up and encourage.

Everyday we have to make decisions.

Look to God for wisdom. Look to God for direction. Look to God for vision. Look to God for discernment. God will never leave you nor forsake you, so draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. Shine your light so that when people hear you and see you, they see someone who builds up others rather than tearing them down. Be one who strengthens others rather than trying to undermine them. Be an encourager whose head is lifted high because of your hope and trust in God rather than someone who is bitter towards others. It’s your choice…Choose wisely.

When we keep our eyes focused on God, our head is lifted high because we are looking up to Him and looking forward to all that He promised. When we focus on God and how big He is, anything that comes to try and derail us looks small. When we keep our eyes on God the storms, the waves, the winds won’t distract us from the miracles God can, will, and wants to do in our lives.

Are you feeling weak?

Trust in God and you will renew your strength, you will soar high on wings like eagles, you will be able to run and not grow weary, and you will be able to walk and not grow faint.

Do you realize how important you are in God’s plan? Do you realize how big a whole gets left in the lives of those around you if you had never existed? Don’t give up and don’t give in. God’s plan is good and gives you a hope and a future. No matter what you are facing today, stand in alignment and agreement with His word. Put your trust in God.

Fearful To Fearless Book Fearful to Fearless

You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am the LORD.

Leviticus 19:14 (NKJV)

Biblical Truth:

Let the fear of God be your guide so that you may strengthen and build up your brothers and sisters rather than undermine or be bitter toward them.

Today’s Prayer – From the Prayer Wall

My dear Father, Thank You for Your great love for all of us fallen children. Forgive us for our grievous sin and rebellion against You. Bring us, our families and our nations to true repentance and righteousness. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. . .” Let us be that kind of nation. Let our president, and other leaders also choose You as their Lord. Father, I pray for Your blessing on Liberty University’s case to grant exceptions to the health care law. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Today’s Devotional: The Lifter of Our Heads

3But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

Psalm 3:3

Prayer Starter:

Today’s Reading from God’s Word

from Discipleship Journal’s Book-at-a-Time Reading Plan

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that is within them. I praise You Lord for my family and for the life that You have provided me. Through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, I will keep my eyes on You. Lord, help me today be a good ambassador for You and Lord I will give You all the praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name. And may every thought, word, and action that comes from me glorify You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Why are you being tested? Why are you being pushed?

How are muscles built up and strengthened? Faith is a muscle.

I know from working out that our muscles respond to repetition and effort. Eventually we may get to a point where they don’t seem to grow anymore and we have to change the routine to help us get to the next level. There are even new programs out that you hear about like P90X that are specifically designed to avoid that plateau.

Our faith gets tested too. In today’s Fearful to Fearless devotional, we hear what Moses has to say on this:

Fearful to Fearless

Moses spoke to the people: “Don’t be afraid. God has come to test you and instill a deep and reverent awe within you so that you won’t sin.”

Exodus 20:20 (MSG)

Biblical Truth:

Do not allow the influence of the devil come between you and God. Have a humble and sincere reverence of His majesty, be obedient to His authority and dread His displeasure. Stand in awe of Him to be motivated and attentive in your walk.

Our faith isn’t being tested because we are bad or because God is bad, it is to make us stronger and able to speak hope, faith, and love into the lives of those around us. It is so that we can share things that will remain rather than focusing our lives on this that will perish.

8Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 9Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! 10But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.

11When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.

All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

13Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:8-13

We also read that we should consider it all joy when we are being tested:

2Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

James 1:2-4

That’s right it is so that we can grow our faith, develop our faith so that our endurance grows fully or is fully developed we will be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

So what will you spend your time doing today? Will you spend it on things that will pass away? Will you spend it on things that will last forever? How will you share your faith, hope, and love with others?

Will you share your faith in the power of forgiveness? Will you share your faith that you don’t need to take revenge because vengeance is the Lords? Will you share the hope that the battle belongs to the Lord? Will you share your love and God’s love – AGAPE LOVE with everyone you meat? That’s right, AGAPE, … self-sacrificing, undeserved, unconditional, active, and thoughtful. It’s not based on feeling, but is something we consciously decide to do because God first loved us. God is our source to love and our example of love.

Because of our testing, we have testimonies to share with others of God’s greatness. For it is by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimonies that we will have victory in the end.

Today’s Devotional: Vengeance Is God’s

19Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,“I will take revenge;I will pay them back,” says the Lord.

Romans 12:19

Prayer Starter:

God, I believe that vengeance is Yours and that paying people back in anger is not something You want me to do. I give my anger to You and trust that You will take care of me.

Today’s Reading: Discipleship Journal’s Book-at-a-Time Reading Plan

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I praise You Lord for the incredible truth that You speak into my life through Your Word. Lord, I thank You for the preaching of Your Word yesterday and the truth that comes from studying LOVE. Lord, as I prepare for this day I ask Lord that You will help me at home, at work, and at church as this day will be full. Help me Lord to accomplish the work that needs to be done in a way that will give You praise, honor, and glory. Help me Lord to spend my time and efforts in a way that will plant hope, faith, and love into the lives of those around me so that they will see You in me and as such look to You for the truth, the purpose, the vision, the goals. Lord, I give this day into Your hands in hopes and in faith that You will receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lord, I thank You that by giving it up to You, that You are able to work it all together for good. You can work in others that they would repent and be reconciled not only to You but also to us. I thank You Lord that Your ways are better than my ways and Your ways are higher and greater. May Your plans and purposes for this day come to fruition I pray in Jesus’ holy and glorious name. Amen.

Daily Prayer – From the Prayer Wall

Dear Father God, heal our nation and the world of the hate that blinds us to the awareness of our oneness in You. Transform this nation and the world into one of respect for others. Cast out the darkness in the hearts of those who demonize our president rather than pray that he will be filled with Your wisdom, guidance and light in every decision he makes. Tear down the walls that separate us and give our leaders, the President and Congress a vision of how to work together for the greater good of all. Amen.
