Losing hope? Losing happiness? Losing joy? Hold onto it!

…there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.

So choose today to hold onto your happiness. So choose today to be filled with the joy of the Lord, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Be bold and courageous. Don’t dwell on the what could have been or what’s going to be for that will try to rob your joy and happiness and replace it with being agitated and disturbed and even possibly to the point of filling you with fear.

Do not give in to fear and dwell on what might have been or what may occur. The peace of Christ provides victory over fear.

Don’t count on others to make you happy. That is your responsibility!

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that I cannot count on someone else to make me happy. God has given us the ability to take responsibility for our own happiness.

Don’t let other people’s behavior be what controls your happiness. Don’t let situations or outcomes control your happiness. Depend on God as the source, let the joy of the Lord be your strength.

A lot of people aren’t happy unless a certain person behaves a certain way, or unless a certain situation works out just the way they want it to. Every day we let our happiness depend on other people and situations, when in reality, God wants us to find our happiness in Him.

Consider this… Are the expectations you have of or on others realistic? Is having these expectations keeping you from being happy?

…there are so many ways that we put unrealistic expectations on people and rely on them to keep us happy. God wants us to look to Him first and rely on Him for our happiness.

Take Responsibility for Your Happiness

12 So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.

Ecclesiastes 3:12

Prayer Starter:

God, my happiness should only rely on You, not other people and situations. Today, I get rid of my unrealistic expectations and take responsibility for my own happiness.

Fearful to Fearless

Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

John 14:27 (AMP)

Biblical Truth:

Do not give in to fear and dwell on what might have been or what may occur. The peace of Christ provides victory over fear.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I praise You Lord for being my joy and my strength. Grant me wisdom for every situation and in setting up my day before me. Lord, help me to hold onto Your peace that goes beyond all understanding so that in Your victory I will be complete. Lord, help me to see as You see and hear as You hear. Help me Lord to not overreact or respond in a way that doesn’t glorify You. May this day be a day in which my thoughts and my actions are kept under my control and used for Your glory and not misused because of the attacks or lies of the devil. Lord, I lift it up to You and ask that in my thoughts, words, and deeds that You would receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
