Feeling guilt? Looking for the key to being guilt free? Wanting to enjoy life more?

is the key
to a clear conscience
to being able to enjoy life more.

Are you feeling like you are being held back? Needing more confidence? Looking for a way to live happy and free?

It’s critical to keep your conscience clear because nothing will keep you from enjoying life as much as guilt.

In Acts, Paul said that he pursued discipline and avoided worldly desires so that he could walk blameless and guilt-free before God. The same applies to us. Walking in the confidence of a clear conscience will keep us free and happy.

Stuck in the grey areas and wondering what to do? Want some certainty about what to do so you won’t be stuck feeling guilty or have a clear conscious?

That sounds easy when it comes to clear-cut, right and wrong issues, but what about the ‘gray’ areas of life? How do we keep our conscience clear when we’re unsure what the right or wrong choice is? What if we accidentally sin without realizing it? I’ve found that God’s discernment solves this problem.

Discernment is spiritual understanding, and it’s the key to living with a clear conscience. It takes practice, but it simply involves paying attention to your heart. God will let you know when you shouldn’t do something that will bring guilt later on.

Turning to God and asking for discernment about the decision and then listening to that still quiet voice that prompts you to do what is right will keep you on the straight and narrow and keep you from the guilt later.

I encourage you to live in a way that will keep your conscience clear. Don’t do things you know you shouldn’t, and rely on God’s discernment when you’re facing an issue you’re not sure about. He will never lead you wrong.

— Notes from today’s devotional

Discernment Is the Key to a Clear Conscience

16 Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.

Acts 24:16

Prayer Starter:

God, thank You for Your discernment. Help me to pay attention to Your still, small voice speaking to my heart so I can live in a way that will keep my conscience free and clear before You.

Fearful to Fearless

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Matthew 6:25-26 (AMP)

Biblical Truth:

God is able to provide for all our needs and guard against evil. If we choose to trust in Him instead of worrying about things of the world it is better for our souls.

Day 368 of 365

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I praise You Lord for being the truth that shines before me, the light that guides me, the truth that encourages me, and the hope that never fails. Lord, I lift this day up to You and ask for wisdom and discernment Lord so that in all I day, all I think, and all I say, it will allow me to live a life that is guilt free. Lord, guide my steps I pray as I plan and purpose to accomplish Your will. Help me I pray to be a good ambassador for You and to share Your love, Your truth, Your hope, and Your plans with those around me. Lord, You are the one and the only truth that can save us not only from ourselves, but Lord from the lies of the devil and the world. As I start this day, I ask Lord You go before me to prepare in advance the work You have for me and to come behind me to cover my back and keep me under the cover of Your wings of safety. Lord, may all I think, say and do today, bring You praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Tired of having to cleanup after making bad decisions? Look for wisdom going forward. Whatcha gonna DO? It’s your future.

Choose to receive God’s wisdom
and start making godly decisions
going forward.

How do you make decisions? What drives them? What is the source?

Along the way on our journey through life, we will have to make many decisions, and we will always get into trouble if we make them emotionally or according to what we think or want.

God wants us to make wise decisions. I believe having wisdom is choosing to do now what we will be happy with later.

God’s wisdom is calling out to us. Are we taking time to listen? Are we interested to hear? Are we searching for wisdom? We have free will, this means we have to make choices. Choose wisely.

Proverbs says that wisdom is calling out to us. You must walk in God’s wisdom and realize that the choices you make today will affect your tomorrow. So many people never enjoy life because they’re always dealing with messes resulting from a lack of wisdom.

Don’t do something selfish, gambling that things will turn out right. Wisdom does not gamble, it invests in the future. Wisdom doesn’t settle for a cheap thrill. Instead, it follows God into a better tomorrow.

What’cha gonna do, what’cha gonna do?

So what about you? Are you walking in wisdom today? If you’re not, the good news is that wisdom is already calling out to you. God’s ready and willing to provide you with His wisdom. Just ask Him for it and make the decisions that will invest in a godly future.

— Notes from today’s devotional

Wisdom Is Calling Out to You

23 I was appointed in ages past, at the very first, before the earth began.

Proverbs 8:23

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

God, I want to enjoy life, not constantly clean up problems that result from a lack of wisdom. Thank You for providing Your wisdom for me. I choose to receive it and make godly decisions for my future.

Fearful to Fearless

And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 1:19-20 (NASB)

Biblical Truth:

When we quiet ourselves before God we are most receptive to His calming Spirit, who is able to deliver us from our doubts and fears.

  • Psalm 80
    • Turn back to God
  • Psalm 135
    • Praise the LORD!!!

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for this adventure I am about to begin over this weekend. Lord, You have great plans and purpose for my life. You have a plan for each of us and I pray that Your power, Your promise, Your plan, and Your purpose will be fulfilled this weekend and that through it all there will be great freedom and celebration. Lord, in every situation there will be decisions to be made and I pray that You will provide wisdom for the girls, the parents, and the coaches so that through it all You will be glorified. We all get to choose Lord, what we are going to do. Lord, let Your power fall over the girls. Allow them to receive the reality of who You are. Lord God, grant me wisdom as a husband, a father, a friend, and a fan to shine for You and to be one who brings You praise, honor, and glory. Help me Lord to make decisions that will not create or generate regret, but will produce incredible fruits of joy, peace, hope, and love for my life and my family. Lord, You have incredible timing and plans and so today I lift this day up to You and ask for wisdom, above all else, for every situation and decision I will face so that in every thought, every word, and every action, You will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Having to make a decision? Let your Yes be Yes and Your No be No. Be decisive then trust God with the rest!

Indecision is a miserable state to be in and certainly is not a fruit of the simple life. God’s Word through James warns us that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Don’t be controlled by fear of making a wrong decision for that will get you nowhere.

How much time do you think we waste when we can’t make up our minds?

Are you laboring over a decision? Make a decision and move on!

We often labor over the choices before us when we just need to make a decision and let it stand. This may be a simple example, but think about it: When you stand in front of your closet in the morning looking at all your clothes, just choose something and put it on. Don’t go back and forth until you make yourself late for work!

Be encouraged! Start making decisions! Be DECISIVE!

Let me encourage you to start making decisions without second-guessing yourself or worrying about the choices you make. Don’t be double-minded or wishy-washy because doubting your decisions after you make them will steal the enjoyment from everything you do. Make the best decisions you can and trust God with the results.

— Notes from today’s devotional

Be Decisive!

12 But most of all, my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned.

James 5:12

Prayer Starter:

Holy Spirit, thank You for showing me that indecision doesn’t really get me anywhere. Help me to let my “yes” be “yes,” and my “no” be “no.” I know I can’t go wrong when I make decisions the best I can and simply trust You with the results.

Fearful to Fearless

Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.

Malachi 3:16 (NLT)

Biblical Truth:

When we worship the Lord and keep Him close to our hearts we honor Him and enjoy His fellowship and intimacy.

    • His plan is that we would live in the peace and purpose and the freedom that comes from following after God

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for Your Word and for the incredible truth and power that comes from reading it, hearing it, pursuing it, and following it. Lord, Your truth speaks volumes to me. Help me I pray that to be decisive. Help me to not hum and ha about things, but rather to pray, make a decision, and leave it in Your hands to take care of. Lord, help me to live a life of faith, hope, and trust in You  rather than allowing the devil to try and create fear around every decision and paralyze me from moving forward into the breakthroughs You have planned from the beginning of time for me to be a part of. Lord, help my life to be something that brings You praise and glory and honor. Help my words, my thoughts, and my actions to bring You praise, honor, and glory. May everything I say, think, and do today Lord bring You all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Worried? Concerned? Afraid? Anxious?

God doesn’t want you that way.

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God

What are you or will you let drive your life? Are you going to be pushed around by the pressure or ideas of others? Are you going to put your trust in God and follow your heart and the promptings of the Holy Spirit? Let’s stop trying to make life to complicated or difficult and start to follow the promises, the peace, the joy, the hope, and the plans God has for us.

Don’t let selfishness be the driver or at the wheel, but rather allow the Holy Spirit produce the desires of your heart and direct your path.

… pursuing the desires that God puts in your heart. What do you want out of life? What do you believe is God’s will for you? Are you pursuing it?

Let it go! Stop being held back by the cares and the worries of the world. Allow yourself to be able to step out and follow after what God has put into your heart. Don’t let the devil’s lies stop you when you hear him say that it’s out of your reach. Nothing is too big for God. Nothing is impossible for God.

So today let’s focus on what God’s Word says rather than the lies of the devil. His Word tells us

we should cast all our cares upon God for He cares for us. Whatever worry you have that is keeping you from following your heart, you need to give it to God and let Him take care of it.

He wants us to follow the desires He’s place in our hearts. Trust God to

take care of your cares and follow your heart.

You can trust Him. He cares for you!

— Notes from today’s devotional

Give Him Your Cares and Follow Your Heart

7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

1 Peter 5:7

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

God, sometimes I don’t pursue what You’ve placed in my heart because of my worries and cares, so today, I give them to You. I know You can handle them, and You want me to be free to follow my heart.

Fearful to Fearless

“At that time I will put you on trial. I am eager to witness against all sorcerers and adulterers and liars. I will speak against those who cheat employees of their wages, who oppress widows and orphans, or who deprive the foreigners living among you of justice, for these people do not fear me,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Malachi 3:5 (NLT)

Biblical Truth:

The root of all evil is that men do not worship the Lord; He will be a witness against those that do not fear Him because He knows all things. Reverently worship the Lord and evil will retreat in fear.

    • The Rider on the White Horse
    • Victory is the Lord’s
    • Power comes from the mouth of God
  • Revelation 20
    • Thousand years of peace
    • Then the final battle
    • Then the final judgment
    • You will want to be in the Book of Life.
      • Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
      • This is the key to life, eternal life
  • Revelation 21
    • The New Heaven and New Earth
    • 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. 8 “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
    • What an incredible place
      • 10 So he took me in the Spiritt to a great, high mountain, and he showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.11 It shone with the glory of God and sparkled like a precious stone—like jasper as clear as crystal.12 The city wall was broad and high, with twelve gates guarded by twelve angels. And the names of the twelve tribes of Israel were written on the gates.13 There were three gates on each side—east, north, south, and west.

14 The wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were written the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 The angel who talked to me held in his hand a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.16 When he measured it, he found it was a square, as wide as it was long. In fact, its length and width and height were each 1,400 miles.

17 Then he measured the walls and found them to be 216 feet thick (according to the human standard used by the angel).
18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city was pure gold, as clear as glass.19 The wall of the city was built on foundation stones inlaid with twelve precious stones:t the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,

20 the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

21 The twelve gates were made of pearls—each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass.
22 I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.23 And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light.24 The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory.25 Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there.26 And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city.

27 Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

    • I pray that each of you will or are in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
  • Revelation 22
    • the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
    • No more curses
    • No more night and no more darkness, no more lamps or sun
    • God will shine for all to see
    • Jesus is coming back!!
      • 7 “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book.”8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me.

9 But he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!”
10 Then he instructed me, “Do not seal up the prophetic words in this book, for the time is near.

11 Let the one who is doing harm continue to do harm; let the one who is vile continue to be vile; let the one who is righteous continue to live righteously; let the one who is holy continue to be holy.”
12 “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”14 Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life.

15 Outside the city are the dogs—the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.”17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.

19 And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

20 He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”
        Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

21 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You for Your Word and for this day. I thank You Lord for always being there when I need You. I thank You for providing the right words on the right day at the right time for the situation I am facing. Grabbing onto Your Word allows me to find peace that goes beyond understanding. Lord, as I start this day, I lift it up in hopes that You will guide my steps as I plan this day so that everything that is important to You can be revealed and accomplished today. Guide my thoughts with wisdom and focus I pray. Help me Lord to be focused on what is important to You. As this day begins I lift it up into Your hands that You will receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

What are you trying to measure up to? What is your standard or measuring stick?

Don’t be comparing yourself
to others
in order to find
your value or worth.
Don’t be comparing yourself
to a standard
that continues to change,
but use one that is constant for all time.

Be bold and courageous by following after God rather than chasing the crowd and their changing goals, criteria, measures, purpose, success.

It takes boldness to follow God instead of the crowd. Being excessively concerned about what others think leads only to torment. Although all of us enjoy being well thought of, it is not possible to be liked by everyone all the time.

Are you willing to give up something in order to get something of greater value? Will you consider God’s rules instead of man’s rules in order that true success be seen and realized?

In God’s economy, we usually have to be willing to lose something we have in order to gain what we really want in life, and that means we have to stop comparing ourselves to other people’s standards and start living for God.

People who are real friends will help you be all God wants you to be. They won’t judge you for following God’s call. Real friends will encourage you to make God number one in your life.

You don’t have to be afraid of being alone. God gave us a promise that He will never leave us nor abandon us.

People will come and people will go, but God will always be there. Life is filled with seasons and each season and every relationship has a purpose in the great plans of God.

To simplify and make life more manageable, we need to pick who we are going to please. God or people? Pick God and find peace and freedom that will transform your life.

Life gets too complicated, confusing and frustrating when we try to please both God and people. You don’t have to compare yourself to anyone and worry what people think about you. Live life for God and be free to be who He made you to be.

— Notes from today’s devotional —

Living for God Is All That Matters

12 Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!

2 Corinthians 10:12

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

Lord, I make a decision right now live for You alone. Living by other people’s standards and expectations for me will get me nowhere. You are the only One who matters, and I will be the person You’ve made me to be.

Fearful to Fearless

— a reminder of what this day’s verse and truth were —

“The person who cheats will be cursed. He has a male animal in his flock and promises to offer it, but then he offers to the Lord an animal that has something wrong with it. I am a great king,” says the Lord All-Powerful, “and I am feared by all the nations.”

Malachi 1:14 (NCV)

Biblical Truth:

God’s gifts are priceless, offer Him worship that is reverent and genuine, otherwise you only deceive yourself.

It has been poured full strength into God’s cup of wrath. And they will be tormented with fire and burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb.

11 The smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever, and they will have no relief day or night, for they have worshiped the beast and his statue and have accepted the mark of his name.”
