Do you realize what He has done for us?

He made a way when
there didn’t seem to be a way.
He won the victory when
there didn’t look like
there was a way to win.

Looking for a reason to celebrate and something to be happy about?

The Bible says that Jesus experienced death for us. So you and I do not have to experience eternal death because He has paid the penalty for our sin and given us the gift of eternal life.

With the power of the resurrection and victory over death that Jesus provided, what do you think happens every morning when you wake up?

Joyce believes that when Christians put their feet on the floor in the morning, hell ought to shake. Demons should tremble when they realize we’re up!

That’s exactly what will happen when we realize who we are in Christ and understand the authority we have in Him. We are soldiers in the army of God. We have authority in Him.

Jesus defeated sin and death.

Now we need to consistently walk in the authority and victory that He provides for us. Then you will be extremely dangerous to the enemy of God.

— Notes from today’s devotional

The Victory We have in Jesus

9 What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.

Hebrews 2:29

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

God, thank You for the victory I have in You. Every day, help me to further understand the price You paid for me, so that I can walk in all the authority and victory that You have for me.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I lift it up to You as my dad goes in for his eye appointment in hopes of a good report. Be with him and my mom Lord and bring us all a great report I pray as You have begun the healing in His eye. Lord, You see the work for this day ahead of me and so I give it up to You trusting that You will grant me wisdom and discernment on what to do and when. I trust in the fact that You go before me to prepare in advance for me to do. I know that as I plan You direct my path and will help me to accomplish the things You desire for me to accomplish. Lord, I lift up my family and friends and each of their needs to You Lord, that You would strength and encourage them, that You would help and provide for their needs. And Lord in and through it all, may You receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fearful to Fearless

‘So do not fear, O Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed, O Israel,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid. I am with you and will save you,’ declares the LORD.

Jeremiah 30:10-11a (NIV)

Biblical Truth:

The promises of God are enough to extinguish fear and grief, we will not surrender to difficulties or troubles that threaten us, but will turn to God for the security that only He can provide.

You were created with a purpose and a plan. What will you do about that?

We are God’s masterpiece.
He recreated us
in Christ Jesus.
So now that we are new,
let’s do something
with our lives
for the glory of His kingdom.

God has a promised land for each of us.

When we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we were reborn. Being recreated in Christ Jesus, God’s plan is that we might have the good life that He prearranged for each of us. So let’s be willing and get prepared for what God has planned. Let’s be willing to change the parts of lives necessary to fully come under the covering of Jesus’ blood in order that we may be the people God is calling us to be.

Fear Not. Don’t be afraid of change. Change is really just made up of two parts: stop doing some of the things we had been doing and start doing some of the things we hadn’t been doing. Let’s stop allowing the lies of the devil to reinforce the negative thoughts we have and start thinking positive and embrace the promises of God’s Word. Let’s stop settling in our comfort zone but rather step out of the boat into the promises and plans of God. Let’s stop procrastinating and putting things off and rather start taking the opportunities that arise and pursue the Holy Spirit guided opportunities into the light and joy of the Lord.

Its not enough to just have the truth in your head – reading about it, watching sermons or movies about, hearing about it in sermons or the radio. We need to start to live it out by moving that head knowledge into our beliefs and into our hearts. Rather than just reading about the Promised Land, let’s decide to possess our promised land. God is good and He will lead you there. The key is that we need to be willing to follow and accept the positive changes that God wants to bring into our lives as He prepares us to be a blessing to others.

The Key to Possessing Your Promised Land

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

Holy Spirit, show me the changes I need to make in order to possess my promised land. Thank You for preparing me to be a blessing to others and fulfill the destiny You have for me.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I praise You Lord for the incredible opportunities and direction that You are bringing me and the changes and plans You have for me and my family to serve and follow after You for the glory of Your kingdom. Help me today Lord to fulfill Your plans for this day. Grant me wisdom I pray for every decision and conversation and produce in me a clean heart and a brave heart. Grant me the wisdom to know what to do and the courage to step out and do it. I lift up my dad and pray for his continued healing Lord and a good report from the doctor on Thursday. Lord, nothing is too big for You and with You at the drivers seat, I have hope and trust to know that great and mighty things are going to take place. As I prepare for this day Lord, multiply my time and help me to focus on and accomplish all that You have for me today so that in all I say, all I think, and all I do, You may receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fearful to Fearless

Hezekiah king of Judah and the people of Judah did not kill Micah. You know that Hezekiah feared the Lord and tried to please the Lord. So the Lord changed his mind and did not bring on Judah the disaster he had promised. If we hurt Jeremiah, we will bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!

Jeremiah 26:19 (NCV)

Biblical Truth:

Worship the Lord and heed the call of His Spirit to avoid sin, consider the consequences and the harm it bring to us and our witness.

Day 337 of 365

Do you still have hope? If you do, did you know there is something you can do with it?

You can come back to a place of safety.
You can receive the blessings and promises of God.

What are you hoping for in life? What are you expecting in life?

I would hope that most of us would be expecting good things to happen in our lives. I would expect that most of us would be looking the best of things and not be waiting for the other shoe to fall. The reality is that there are many people who are in places of hopelessness, not sure where to go or where to turn.

Jesus didn’t die for us to be hopeless though, He died so that we could have life and life to the full, full of hope.

The devil who lies, steals, destroys wants to steal your hope, wants to lie about where you are and where you can go, wants to destroy your dreams and hopes. He tells you lies like “nothing good can happen in your life” or “the things you care about won’t last” or if you are in the midst of a struggle, he will say a lie like “it will never end”.

Realize the devil keeps speaking lies. Let’s make sure to be noticing the good things in and around our lives and doing things that will build up our hope and faith. Remember God can change everything!

Our Heavenly Father is good, in Him there is no darkness, and He has good plans for your life. God’s Word tells us that if we maintain our hope, even in the midst of the troubles and uncertainties and uncertain times

I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.

That’s right, He promises you double for your troubles.

Don’t give up hope! Start expecting God to show up and do something, something good!

— Notes from today’s devotional

What Are You Hoping for?

12 Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles

Zechariah 9:12

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

Lord, my hope is in You. Satan is a liar and I will not listen to him or lose hope. I expect You to do good things in my life.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You for a great long weekend with my family. I praise You Lord for the love and fun we had together. Lord, I lift up this day and ask that You remove this sickness that is impacting my stomach and cast it from me in Jesus’ name. I pray Lord that You will bring total healing that I may accomplish all Your will today and feel better. Lord, there is no one better, no one bigger, and no one more trustworthy than You. So today my hope and trust are all in You and I look to You for wisdom, guidance, and direction so that in all I think, say, and do, You will receive the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fearful to Fearless

I will bring the rest of my people home from the lands where I have scattered them, and they will grow into a mighty nation. I promise to choose leaders who will care for them like real shepherds. All of my people will be there, and they will never again be frightened.

Jeremiah 23:3-4 (CEV)

Biblical Truth:

Though we were lost and afraid, we are now confident and rejoice in Gods mercy to gather His church.

Day 226 of 265

  • 1 Corinthians 12
  • 1 Corinthians 13
  • 1 Corinthians 14

What are you chasing after? How do you know that you are going the right way?

Do you have a northern star
that is guiding you
all the way?
Do you have a clock
that tells you when
it is the right time?
Do you have something
that lets you know
it’s the right opportunity?

The key is that no matter the opportunity that arises, if you go ahead of the ark (God and His will) you will miss it and if you don’t follow along after then you will miss it too. So remember how important it is to “follow the ark”, the presence of God.

Never mind getting stuck in the old ways, the old things, the old situations in life as it ends up that the familiar place may not only be the wrong place but a hazard to you if you stick around too long. Don’t be motivated by fear of the unchartered territory but walk in the place God has planned for you. Similarly, don’t jump the gun just because you feel something new is ahead and you want to go and get it now. You don’t want to go and do or create something that is so far ahead of its time that it is a problem too. We need and have to wait upon the Lord and follow His presence.

We read in Joshua 3:3 what God spoke to His people:

“When you see the Levitical priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD your God, move out from your positions and follow them.

The ark represents the anointing of God, the presence of God, and the will of God. It is critical and crucial that we learn to follow the will of God and not our own will or the will of others. Consider what God wants you to do and where He wants you to be today.

Joyce Meyer closes with the following advice:

God has a plan for you and me, and the only way to see that plan unfold is to follow the ark, or the will of God, and not our flesh or other people or our emotions.

Remember today that whatever God’s will is for your life, He will provide the way for you to accomplish it.

— Notes from today’s devotional

Follow the Ark

3 giving these instructions to the people: “When you see the Levitical priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD your God, move out from your positions and follow them.

Joshua 3:3

Prayer Starter: (from today’s devotional)

God, like the Israelites, I know that I need to “follow the ark.” My timing for the new opportunities doesn’t matter…only Your will matters. As I follow You, I know that You will make a way to bring Your plan for me to pass.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that will be in it. I know Lord that You have incredible plans for me and my family and that You will use each day, each situation, each event to help us to learn and to grow and to draw closer to You. Help me Lord to be the husband, the father, and the son You want me to be. Help me Lord to know what to do and where to go. Help me Lord I pray to stay in Your presence and to stand in it and walk with it every moment of every day. Lord, may my hope and trust in You, my thoughts, my words, and my actions bring You all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fearful to Fearless

Don’t be a terror to me.  When I’m in trouble, I go to you for safety. Let those who attack me be put to shame. But keep me from shame. Let them be terrified. But keep me from terror. Bring the day of trouble on them. Destroy them once and for all.

Jeremiah 17:17-18 (NIrV)

Biblical Truth:

No matter our troubles, God is our hope and we need not fear. Let Him be your confidence to turn to for comfort and protection. May His name be made known!

What do you do? How do you feel? When you see your neighbor, coworker, friend getting blessed?

Do you get upset?

Are you thinking what about me?

Are you thinking that should have been me?

Do you celebrate with them?

Are you think God is in the neighborhood?

Are you thinking if God is in the neighborhood then I am in the right place?

Today let’s make sure we are where God wants us to be and that we haven’t strolled off course and aren’t in the neighborhood with Him.

If we are in the neighborhood, then let’s be doing what God has called us to do and trust Him to do what He has said He will do.

If we aren’t in the neighborhood, then let’s turnaround and head back home where we belong so that we are under His covering and in the place where He can bless us.
