is drawing to a conclusion. 2012
is just a day away.
It has been an amazing 2011 where God’s hand has sustained me. He has provided me encouragement daily through songs on Spirit 105.3 when I would get into my car after praying through hard days. He provided me hope through His Word every morning. He provided me healing through the truth of forgiveness 7×70. Healed my heart and mind to transform my attitude and view of where I was at. He used my friends to encourage me and to connect me to find a new job. He provide me with a new team with great people. He provided me with a wife who supported me through all of this. He provided me with children who would comfort and love me through all of this. He provided me with 3 weeks of time to close the year with my family to be filled up with love and time.
As we start 2012, I look forward to see what God has planned for my family through our home. I look forward to see what God has planned for my marriage for our anniversary and other 1:1 time. I look forward to see what God has planned for my children – softball for my girls, t-ball for my son, school, what God will do in and through their lives. I look forward to see what God has planned for my work this year too as we start a year of change and transition and how He will use it for His glory and how He will allow my experiences to speak hope, life, and truth in the the team.
2 Peter 3:14
14 So, beloved, since you are expecting these things, be eager to be found by Him [at His coming] without spot or blemish and at peace [in serene confidence, free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].
Life is short, it is but a vapor. When people get the news of how short life is, some people’s lives transform greatly to reprioritize what they are doing, others because they have already prioritized remain the same or similar. Where are you living today? What if instead of getting bad news about your health you heard that Jesus was returning. How are you living today? Are you living a life that will get everyone you know into heaven? Or have you become lazy and complacent because He hasn’t returned yet? Let’s live in eager expectation of his coming. What would you like to be doing when Jesus comes back? Consider and reflect on that as that is what and how we should be living each day.
I thank You for this new day and for all that will be in it. I thank You Lord that You give me this time each year to reflect on the past year as well as how my devotional time with You started during this time of year so many years ago. Lord, as I consider the morning of worry or concern, of questions or pondering, and how Lord that You were able to use the various translations to be able to speak into my life each day. Lord, I thank You that You have allowed me to read Your Word through the King James, the New King James, the New International Version, the Amplified, the Message, the New Living Translation, as well as through various study tools from study bible, for leaders, Chronological, online bibles (crosswalk.com, biblegateway.com, bible.com, biblestudytools.com), and others. Lord, as I look forward to this year to come, I turn to You again for wisdom and vision for the year to come. Help me Lord to prepare for this year that is nearly upon me. Help me to be prepared as a husband, as a father, as a friend, and as you see fit. Help me to find the right study so that each day I will have the message I need to get through each day. Lord, may this be a year that You will find me to be a great steward of the time You give me. Help me Lord to look at the time and resources You have given me and to be able to use them for Your praise, honor, and glory. As I end this year today, may You receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
