Thankful that Jesus never changes–He will always help me when I need and forgive me when I fall. He is loving, just, and merciful even when we don’t deserve it.

Hebrews 1:12

12 Like a mantle [thrown about one’s self] You will roll them up, and they will be changed and replaced by others. But You remain the same, and Your years will never end nor come to failure.

What does it mean that Christ is changeless ("you are always the same")? It means that Christ’s character will never change. He persistently shows his love to us. He is always fair, just, and merciful to us who are so undeserving. Be thankful that Christ is changeless-he will always help you when you need it and offer forgiveness when you fall.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that is within it. I thank You Lord for the incredible blessings You have brought into my life and for the opportunities that You have opened the door for me to walk in and through. I praise You for the training grounds that have taught and transformed me. Lord, there is nobody like You. Even though I walked through the valley You were with me. You never left me nor forsake me, but You taught me and raised me up. You showed me the power of love and forgiveness and how they are able to overcome and conquer fear, bitterness, and depression. Lord, You are and were so much bigger than what I had to walk through, and it is by faith in Jesus that I made it happen. Lord, as I look at how You first taught and then healed and then strengthened and encouraged me so that I could step out and into the new place and role You had planned in advance for me to accomplish. Lord, You are so awesome. I lift up my friends to You Lord that they would hear from You. I lift up those who are being challenged or are struggling where they are at and needing wisdom to know what to do and I pray Lord that You will fill them with faith to listen to Your guidance Lord and to be obedient to Your Word and direction. Lord, I thank You for today and for the opportunities it will bring. Lord, as I look to this day and all that is currently scheduled, I lift it up into Your hands and ask Lord that You guide each meeting, each conversation, each project, and every step of my day. May all I say and all I do bring You praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Verse of the Day

24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.

Jeremiah 23:24

Today – Day 155

  • Proverbs 4
    • Listen to the instruction of your father and pay attention to gain and to know intelligent discernment, comprehension, and interpretation of spiritual matters.
    • Pursue and get skillful and godly wisdom, get understanding, discernment, comprehension, and interpretation, do not forget and do not turn back from the words of God
    • Do not forsake wisdom for she will keep, defend, and protect You, love her and she will guard you.

7 The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation). 8 Prize Wisdom highly and exalt her, and she will exalt and promote you; she will bring you to honor when you embrace her.9 She shall give to your head a wreath of gracefulness; a crown of beauty and glory will she deliver to you.10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life shall be many.11 I have taught you in the way of skillful and godly Wisdom [which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God]; I have led you in paths of uprightness.12 When you walk, your steps shall not be hampered [your path will be clear and open]; and when you run, you shall not stumble.13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.15 Avoid it, do not go on it; turn from it and pass on.16 For they cannot sleep unless they have caused trouble or vexation; their sleep is taken away unless they have caused someone to fall.17 For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.18 But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared]. 19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. 20 My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.21 Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.22 For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.24 Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.25 Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.26 Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright.27 Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil.

  • Proverbs 5
    • I thank God for the wisdom I learned as I walked through what I consider a valley time in my life, for as Proverb5 says I am to be attentive to Wisdom learned by actual and costly experience understand of what is becoming and prudent for me.
    • We are to exercise proper discrimination and discretion as well as guard our lips  and keep knowledge and wise answers.
    • Proper discrimination means the ability to notice and value quality, being aware of subtle differences, it is for good not in the way it has been know for which isn’t God’s purpose or desire which some have used where they use it to treat people differently through prejudice.

15 Drink waters out of your own cistern [of a pure marriage relationship], and fresh running waters out of your own well.16 Should your offspring be dispersed abroad as water brooks in the streets?17 [Confine yourself to your own wife] let your children be for you alone, and not the children of strangers with you.18 Let your fountain [of human life] be blessed [with the rewards of fidelity], and rejoice in the wife of your youth.19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant doe [tender, gentle, attractive]–let her bosom satisfy you at all times, and always be transported with delight in her love.20 Why should you, my son, be infatuated with a loose woman, embrace the bosom of an outsider, and go astray?21 For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the Lord, and He [Who would have us live soberly, chastely, and godly] carefully weighs all man’s goings. 22 His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked man, and he shall be held with the cords of his sin.23 He will die for lack of discipline and instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray and be lost.

  • Proverbs 6
    • Get out of debt
    • Get prepared
    • Don’t…

16 These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him:17 A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.

    • Rather Do…

20 My son, keep your father’s [God-given] commandment and forsake not the law of [God] your mother [taught you]. 21 Bind them continually upon your heart and tie them about your neck. 22 When you go, they [the words of your parents’ God] shall lead you; when you sleep, they shall keep you; and when you waken, they shall talk with you.23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life, 24 To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a loose woman.25 Lust not after her beauty in your heart, neither let her capture you with her eyelids.26 For on account of a harlot a man is brought to a piece of bread, and the adulteress stalks and snares [as with a hook] the precious life [of a man].27 Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned?28 Can one go upon hot coals and his feet not be burned?29 So he who cohabits with his neighbor’s wife [will be tortured with evil consequences and just retribution]; he who touches her shall not be innocent or go unpunished.30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry;31 But if he is found out, he must restore seven times [what he stole]; he must give the whole substance of his house [if necessary–to meet his fine].32 But whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks heart and understanding (moral principle and prudence); he who does it is destroying his own life.33 Wounds and disgrace will he get, and his reproach will not be wiped away.34 For jealousy makes [the wronged] man furious; therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance [upon the detected one].35 He will not consider any ransom [offered to buy him off from demanding full punishment]; neither will he be satisfied, though you offer him many gifts and bribes.

He was, He is, and He is to come. He created, He came in peace to reconcile, He will come to conquer and ride in victory.

Hebrews 1:2

2 [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].

Jesus was God’s agent in creating the world. As followers of Christ, we may give easy assent to this truth but deny it in practice. We may believe that Christ knows and controls the laws of heaven (pertaining to salvation and spiritual growth), but we may act each day as though our financial, family, or medical problems are beyond his reach. If Jesus could create the universe, then no part of life is out of his control. Do not exclude Jesus’ wisdom and the Bible’s guidance in your complex problems of life. No expert, professor, doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor knows more about your ultimate security and well-being than Jesus does. Go first to God for advice. Talk to him in prayer and listen to him in his Word. He can sustain you in times of stress. From that perspective you can evaluate all the other wisdom and help made available to you.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that is within it. I praise You Lord for being so much more than I could ever ask or imagine. I praise You Lord because You are the creator and owner of all things. Everything is Yours. Lord, I praise You because You are so much bigger, so much better than any problems that we can face. Help us Lord to not forget to trust You and to turn to You for the little and the big things. Help us Lord to turn to You exercising our faith for the little things so that if and when something bigger comes our faith will be in shape to pray, to trust, and to turn to You in prayer and in Your Word. Lord, You are my strength that helps me walk though each day. Lord, Your Word tells me to fear not, just believe. I still remember when my blog started and You told me to make it a public blog how I started in the book of Revelation which is where my blog name of from 2005 to eternity came from for I started my blog in 2005 and the book of Revelation spoke to me so clearly about the Eternity that was to come. I even remember Lord Your Word speaking to me in regards to a title for my blog. Your Word speaks to me through Jesus’ Words to Fear Not, Just Believe. When I migrated from WL Spaces over to WordPress, the Title expanded to Fear Not, Do Not be Dismayed, Just Believe based on a different translation. Lord, You are so great. Lord, I need You now to help me to stand strong and shine for You. Help me Lord with wisdom. Help me to speak the right words. Help me to make the right decisions. Help me to do the right things. Lord, be it at home, be it at work, be it at church, or be it anywhere in between, grant me wisdom I pray, grant me the courage to step out and do what You tell me. And Lord through it all may You receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Verse of the Day

5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Proverbs 15:5

Today – Day 154

  • Proverbs 1
    • Stick with God and His Wisdom that we may find security and confidence where we will find peace without fear or dread of evil.
    • 7 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline. 8 My son, hear the instruction of your father; reject not nor forsake the teaching of your mother.9 For they are a [victor’s] chaplet (garland) of grace upon your head and chains and pendants [of gold worn by kings] for your neck.
    • 33 But whoso hearkens to me [Wisdom] shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil.
  • Proverbs 2
    • Seek wisdom as a missing treasure. Pursue after the Lord’s knowledge with all your heart, mind, and strength.
    • 1 MY SON, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,2 Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it];3 Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,4 If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,5 Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God. 6 For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.7 He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity,8 That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints. 9 Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and fair dealing [in every area and relation]; yes, you will understand every good path.10 For skillful and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you.11 Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you,12 To deliver you from the way of evil and the evil men, from men who speak perverse things and are liars,13 Men who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,14 Who rejoice to do evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,15 Who are crooked in their ways, wayward and devious in their paths.16 [Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you] to deliver you from the alien woman, from the outsider with her flattering words, 17 Who forsakes the husband and guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.18 For her house sinks down to death and her paths to the spirits [of the dead].19 None who go to her return again, neither do they attain or regain the paths of life.20 So may you walk in the way of good men, and keep to the paths of the [consistently] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God).21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the men of integrity, blameless and complete [in God’s sight], shall remain in it;22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.
  • Proverbs 3
    • Let the thoughts of your mind and the feelings of your heart be in alignment with God. Shut out hatred and selfishness. Shut out hypocrisy and falsehood. Lean on and trust in with confidence the LORD.
    • 1 MY SON, forget not my law or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;2 For length of days and years of a life [worth living] and tranquility [inward and outward and continuing through old age till death], these shall they add to you.3 Let not mercy and kindness [shutting out all hatred and selfishness] and truth [shutting out all deliberate hypocrisy or falsehood] forsake you; bind them about your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart. 4 So shall you find favor, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight [or judgment] of God and man. 5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. 8 It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.9 Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income; 10 So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise or shrink from the chastening of the Lord [His correction by punishment or by subjection to suffering or trial]; neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof, 12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.13 Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God’s Word and life’s experiences],14 For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold.15 Skillful and godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy (blessed, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who holds her fast.19 The Lord by skillful and godly Wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens. 20 By His knowledge the deeps were broken up, and the skies distill the dew.21 My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion,22 And they will be life to your inner self, and a gracious ornament to your neck (your outer self).23 Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble. 24 When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.25 Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless],26 For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].27 Withhold not good from those to whom it is due [its rightful owners], when it is in the power of your hand to do it. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, Go, and come again; and tomorrow I will give it–when you have it with you. 29 Do not contrive or dig up or cultivate evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly and confidently beside you.30 Contend not with a man for no reason–when he has done you no wrong. 31 Do not resentfully envy and be jealous of an unscrupulous, grasping man, and choose none of his ways. 32 For the perverse are an abomination [extremely disgusting and detestable] to the Lord; but His confidential communion and secret counsel are with the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him). 33 The curse of the Lord is in and on the house of the wicked, but He declares blessed (joyful and favored with blessings) the home of the just and consistently righteous. 34 Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favor to the low [in rank], the humble, and the afflicted. 35 The wise shall inherit glory (all honor and good) but shame is the highest rank conferred on [self-confident] fools.

Contentment–Do you know when it is good to be content? What should you be content with?

Titus 1:5

5 For this reason I left you [behind] in Crete, that you might set right what was defective and finish what was left undone, and that you might appoint elders and set them over the churches (assemblies) in every city as I directed you.

Some people see good all around them, while others see nothing but evil. What is the difference? Our souls become filters through which we perceive goodness or evil. The pure (those who have Christ in control of their lives) learn to see goodness and purity even in this evil world. But corrupt and unbelieving people find evil in everything because their evil minds and hearts color even the good they see and hear. Whatever you choose to fill your mind with will affect the way you think and act. Turn your thoughts to God and his Word, and you will discover more and more goodness, even in this evil world. A mind filled with good has little room for what is evil.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that is within it. I praise You Lord for the incredible journey that You have brought me through. I thank You Lord for allowing me to clean out my Bible case and to find memories of Your Word in my life even from back in 2005 when I received Your answer to my prayer with the question of “will I have 4 daughters as Philip the Evangelist?” but to receive the message that I am to have a son named Isaac, just as Abraham was promised Isaac which was my reading that day. Lord, as I think back and remember crying that morning with a sense of joy unspeakable knowing You were speaking to me as You spoke to Abraham that I too was to have a son. Lord as I sit here in my loft with my son in the room, my eyes start to water as my son, nearly 5 now is with me. Lord, Your Word never returns void and Your hope in my mind and my heart keep me pressing forward. Lord, thank You for allowing Your Word to have been published in book, audio, and over the internet so that people are able to read it and fill their minds with truth, hope, love, peace, joy and so much more. Lord, Give me Your eyes to see what is around me Lord. Help me to never miss the good and to see how I am and can help. Lord, forgive me for allowing myself to be drawn into this world. Help me to be light. Help me to be an obedient servant for You Lord. Without You Lord, none of it would be worth it. Lord, as I reflect on the preaching of Pastor Dan this weekend Lord, I pray that You will bless him Lord as Your anointing filled him to overflowing. Lord, help me to draw my family together to worship You. Help me Lord to help my children to draw us closer together as a family and in response closer to You. Lord, as I look forward to this day, may You receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Verse of the Day

6 [And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain.7 For we brought nothing into the world, and obviously we cannot take anything out of the world;8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content (satisfied).9 But those who crave to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish (useless, godless) and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction and miserable perishing.10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute [mental] pangs.

1 Timothy 6:6-10

Today – Day 153

  • Song of Solomon 1
    • How do you see yourself? Have you considered how God is seeing you? Not as you are but as you can be.
  • Song of Solomon 2
    • Be under the banner of Your first love Jesus – He will protect and comfort you as you near Him.
    • He desires to hear our worship and to see our face. Will you draw closer to God and worship Him in spirit and in truth?
  • Song of Solomon 3
    • God sees you right where you are at and desires more for you.
    • God sees you just the way you are but loves you too much to leave you there.
    • God sees more in us that we see in ourselves.
  • Song of Solomon 4
    • Once we have receive Jesus, we are His and nothing can take us out of His hands.
  • Song of Solomon 5
    • The Lord knocks at the door of your heart, can you hear it? Will you open it and allow Jesus into Your heart and find the true meaning of love.
  • Song of Solomon 6
  • Song of Solomon 7
  • Song of Solomon 8

What do you love? Who do you love? Do you know what love is?

2 Timothy 3:4

4 [They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.

Why is it so tempting to "love pleasure rather than God"? Pleasure is something we can control; God cannot be controlled. Most pleasures can be obtained easily; love for God requires effort and sometimes sacrifice. Pleasure benefits us now; the benefits of loving God are often in the future. Pleasure has a narcotic effect; it takes our minds off ourselves and our problems. Love for God reminds us of our needs and our responsibilities. Pleasure cooperates with pride. It makes us feel good when we look good in the eyes of others. To love God we must lay aside our pride and our accomplishments. Have you chosen to love pleasure, or to love God? How do you know?

1 Corinthians 13

4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. … 13 And so faith, hope, love abide [faith–conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things; hope–joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love–true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and for all that is within it. I thank You Lord for the great time last night with my wife on a date and with our friends. Getting to spend time over dinner and a concert made it an incredible night. Getting to spend time with my wife on a date made it all worthwhile. Lord, You are so awesome to bless us with an incredible babysitter who is great with our kids and so trustworthy. Her servants heart allows us to go out without worry for we know that the kids are in good hands. Lord, You are such a blessing to me. There is nobody like You Lord and Your LOVE is so much BIGGER AND GREATER than anything in this world. Lord, as I look forward I pray Lord that You will fill me up to overflowing with Your LOVE and WISDOM that I may be able to accomplish Your will in me with a heart like Yours. Lord as I look forward to this week and to this day, I lift it up to You trusting and believing in You giving You all the praise, the honor, and the glory in advance, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Verse of the Day

10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]

Philippians 3:10

Today – Day 152

  • 2 Chronicles 1
    • God is my strength
    • There is strength in UNITY
    • Let’s aim to do and say what is pleasing to God – let everything we do be worship unto God
    • Seek WISDOM first – seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness for God knows what You have need of even before you ask.
      • 9 Now, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be fulfilled, for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this Your people who are so great?11 God replied to Solomon, Because this was in your heart and you have not asked for riches, possessions, honor, and glory, or the life of your foes, or even for long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may rule and judge My people over whom I have made you king,12 Wisdom and knowledge are granted you. And I will give you riches, possessions, honor, and glory, such as none of the kings had before you, and none after you shall have their equal.
  • Psalm 72
    • Let’s pray for our leaders
      • Give them knowledge of God’s way of judging
      • Give them a spirit of righteousness to control their actions
      • Let them judge and govern in righteousness and justice
      • Let them bring peace to the people
      • Let them revere and fear You throughout all generations
      • Let them be helpers and deliverers for the needy and the poor and the weak

Let your light shine and make a difference today. Study, be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved as a workman who has no reason to be ashamed but correctly analyzes and accurately handles and teach the Word of Truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

Because God will examine what kind of workers we have been for him, we should build our lives on his Word and build his Word into our lives-it alone tells us how to live for him and serve him. Believers who ignore the Bible will certainly be ashamed at the judgment. Consistent and diligent study of God’s Word is vital; otherwise, we will be lulled into neglecting God and our true purpose for living.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You Lord for this new day and this time to read Your Word. I praise You God for time with my family and with friends. Lord as I prepare for this day, I turn to Your Word as my lamp that will provide light for the direction I am to follow. Lord, as I received some challenging news last night, I pray Lord that You will help us to turn to You as the true source and that through this You will be glorified. Help us Lord to be doing things that will bring You praise, honor, and glory. Help the activities we do to be glorifying to You. Help the words we use and the way the team plays and acts to be in alignment with You and Your will and that You oh Lord will receive all the praise, the honor, and the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Verse of the Day

14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

Today – Day 151

  • 1 Kings 3
    • Have a dream?
      • What if God asked you what you would like?
        • What would you ask for?
          • 6 Solomon said, You have shown to Your servant David my father great mercy and loving-kindness, according as he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart with You; and You have kept for him this great kindness and steadfast love, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.7 Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of David my father, and I am but a lad [in wisdom and experience]; I know not how to go out (begin) or come in (finish).8 Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people who cannot be counted for multitude.9 So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge and rule this Your great people? 10 It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this.
      • Would your answer please God?
        • 11 God said to him, Because you have asked this and have not asked for long life or for riches, nor for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to recognize what is just and right,12 Behold, I have done as you asked. I have given you a wise, discerning mind, so that no one before you was your equal, nor shall any arise after you equal to you.13 I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among the kings equal to you all your days.14 And if you will go My way, keep My statutes and My commandments as your father David did, then I will lengthen your days.15 Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream. He came to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.
      • Wisdom beyond your years. What could that do for you?
        • 16 Then two women who had become mothers out of wedlock came and stood before the king.17 And one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.18 And the third day after I was delivered, this woman also was delivered. And we were together; no stranger was with us, just we two in the house.19 And this woman’s child died in the night because she lay on him.20 And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me while your handmaid slept and laid him in her bosom and laid her dead child in my bosom.21 And when I rose to nurse my child, behold, he was dead. But when I had considered him in the morning, behold, it was not the son I had borne.22 But the other woman said, No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son! And this one said, No! But the dead son is your son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.23 The king said, One says, This is my son that is alive and yours is the dead one. The other woman says, No! But your son is the dead one and mine is the living one.24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword to the king.25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two and give half to the one and half to the other.26 Then the mother of the living child said to the king, for she yearned over her son, O my lord, give her the living baby, and by no means slay him. But the other said, Let him not be mine or yours, but divide him.27 Then the king said, Give her [who pleads for his life] the living baby, and by no means slay him. She is the child’s mother.28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had made, and they stood in awe of him, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.
  • 1 Kings 4
    • 29 And God gave Solomon exceptionally much wisdom and understanding, and breadth of mind like the sand of the seashore.30 Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the people of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.31 For he was wiser than all other men–than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. His fame was in all the nations round about.32 He also originated 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.33 He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the wall; he spoke also of beasts, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish.34 Men came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
