Strength will rise as you wait upon the Lord. Will you wait and trust in Him?

Has God created in you a new heart?

Has the Holy Spirit entered into your heart?

Are you walking in God’s statutes and keeping His judgments and doing them?

Honest weights and scales are the LORD’s; All the weights in the bag are His work. – Proverbs 16:11

Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 10:1-5,18-22; 11:1-25; Psalm 86:14-16; Proverbs 16:11

Has God given you direction? Have You heard a calling?

What are you doing about it? What action or actions have you taken to move towards that?

God is never early and never late. God is always on time.

Be patient and obedient, and God will bring what He has promised to completion at the right time.

Are you forgetting the past so that you aren’t living in the past, focusing on the future and moving forward into the future? Have you chained yourself down because of something in your past? Today is the day, you need to break those chains and focus on moving forward into the future.

Bury your past so you can uncover your future.

Waiting for the Lord

by Os Hillman

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

Hearing and doing God’s will are two important steps that often get confused as one step. However, these are two distinct processes. When we hear God’s voice, this is only 50 percent of the process. The next important step is to know when to move. It is one thing to hear; it is another to know when to act.

There was a time when the Lord showed me I was to write. This was a major change in my life from what I was doing. As I began to write, I attempted to find a publisher for my work. This became a real frustration. I encountered many false starts, and many well-intentioned people wanted to assist but their efforts resulted in further delays.

Finally, my wife asked me, “Os, have you completed the book you are working on?” “No,” I replied.

“When you complete the book, God will provide a publisher if He has called you to write. You need to complete the book.”

A few months later I was in discussions with a publisher about my work. They were going to be in my city and wanted to meet with me. The day we met they offered me a contract on my book. It also was the exact day that I had completed the book. I thought back to the words my wife had said.

Corrie ten Boom was a prisoner in the German Holocaust who lost her sister in the concentration camps. She tells a story about her father taking her on trains. She always wanted to get the ticket from her father ahead of time. He never gave her the ticket until she was about to get onto the train.

God is always on time. He is never late, and He is seldom early. Ask God for the wisdom to discern His will and His timing for the events in your life.

Forgetting the Past

by Bayless Conley

God desires a relationship with you. How do you think He feels when you are giving something or someone else more attention and affection than Him?

Are you giving something or someone else more attention and affection than God?

How do you think that makes God feel? He desires a relationship with you, an intimate relationship where you speak to Him and walk with Him daily.

Are you upset with what is going on around you that totally goes against what God desires from us?

Are you interested in the truth? Are you interested in what God has for you? Are you pursuing God? Does He know and see you doing what is right in His eyes?

God help us today to be more like You. Help us to not turn from You, to not miss the mark, but to have ears that are receptive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit so that we may bring praise, honor, and glory to You. Without You, we are powerless and can’t accomplish anything. With You, all things are possible for those who believe. Help us believe and not be dismayed. Help us to keep our trust in You and not put it in other stuff. Lord, forgive us and permit us to draw closer to You. Allow those who have backslidden to come back to You and receive Your love, mercy, and grace. You are awesome God and I thank You for Your Word and the truth that it speaks. God You are great and mighty and I give You all the praise, honor, and glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 8-9; Psalm 86:11-13; Proverbs 16:9

Teach me Your way, O LORD;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore.
For great is Your mercy toward me,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
Psalm 86:11-13

A man’s heart plans his way,
But the LORD directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

If you were going to get repaid for what you have done, would you be excited or afraid in anticipation of what was about to come?

Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 7; Psalm 86:7-10; Proverbs 16:8

Heavenly Father,
I thank You and praise You for this new day. Lord this is the day You have made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. The joy of the Lord is my strength, so Lord, today I will walk in that joy praising and trusting in You.

Lord, I pray for those around me today. I lift them up at this time believing that there are some in high positions who need your wisdom and discernment for the future. I pray Lord that You will grant them the wisdom and discernment they need and help guide their every step in order that they may become and accomplish all that You desire for their lives. Your desire is that they have hope and a future, that their lives would be full lacking nothing. I pray Lord for those in authority over me, for Lord, the heart of the king is in Your hands. Bless them today with wisdom from on high. Help them Lord to be walking in the confidence that comes from You, not in fear, but in strength and courage that comes from You. Lord, there are many around me who are in need and I pray that You will help me and others to come along side them to help them and shine Your love and truth into their lives. Lord, You have blessed each one with gifts and talents so that they could be used to help others. Lord, we are to be one body, so help us realize what each of our responsibilities are to the body and pursue excellence so that in everything we say and everything we do, we are able Lord to honor and glorify You.

Lord, as I look at what is taking place in this world, I call out to You and say here I am Lord. Your Word says:

“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.” – Ezekiel 22:30

Here I stand asking what do You want me to do and say. I ask Lord for forgiveness for the things I haven’t repented of and that You will take them away from me. I ask Lord for forgiveness for those in this country who are walking away or far from You, that Your mercy and grace would woo and draw them closer to You. Lord, I ask for forgiveness for the generational sins that are creating issues today around the country and around the world because people have forgotten the miracles You have done for us and ask that You help us to all repent, turn from the things that take us away from worshiping You in what we say and do. That Lord those generational sins would no longer bind us or hold us back, but that You would break those strongholds off of us and help us to walk in the truth and the freedom that comes from a living relationship with You. Help us from falling into the temptations of the enemy and be drawn out of the light and into the darkness. Keep our eyes on You Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You.

Lord, Your plans are better than our plans. Your ways are better than our ways. And Lord we give You all the praise and the honor and the glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I end this post with Isaiah 55 in hopes that people will turn to You and put all their trust in You. Walking not in fear, but in faith for faith in the Lord is the antidote for fear.

Isaiah 55

Invitation to the Thirsty

1 "Come, all you who are thirsty,
       come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
       come, buy and eat!
       Come, buy wine and milk
       without money and without cost.

2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

3 Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.

4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader and commander of the peoples.

5 Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations that do not know you will hasten to you,
because of the LORD your God,
       the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor."

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake his way
and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,"
       declares the LORD.

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 As the rain and the snow
       come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
       without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

12 You will go out in joy
       and be led forth in peace;
       the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
       will clap their hands.

13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the LORD’s renown,
       for an everlasting sign,
       which will not be destroyed."

Are you growing in the right areas? If you think about it today, are you growing in knowledge of God, in influence, materially, in joy, and in faith?

Would you have what it takes to carry someone else’s iniquity?

What would you think if you saw someone and found out they were doing some activity in order to bear your iniquity before God?

God takes time to develop character before anything else.

“Although it is sometimes difficult to understand, the Lord is just and gracious in His dealings with His children. When He does decide to move on our behalf, we will appreciate the delay and will often understand the reason it was needed.

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” (Is. 30:18)

If you are awaiting the fulfillment of a vision in your life, ask the Lord for His grace to sustain you. It will be worth the wait.”

Are we growing?

1. In Colossians 1:10 we are told we should increase in the knowledge of God.  You ought to know more about God and His Kingdom this week than you did last week.

Colossians 1:10 (New International Version)
10And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

2. Psalm 71:21 tells us we are to be growing in our influence.  I hope I have not reached the pinnacle in my life when it comes to the influence I have for good in the lives of others.  If you call yourself a leader and no one is following you, then you are not influencing them, you are just taking a walk.  You and I need to grow in influence.

Psalm 71:21 (New International Version)

21 You will increase my honor
       and comfort me once again.

3. In Proverbs 13:11 it says we are to be growing and increasing materially.  I don’t know of many who couldn’t grow in this area!

Proverbs 13:11 (New International Version)

11 Dishonest money dwindles away,
but he who gathers money little by little makes it Grow.

4. Isaiah 29:19 speaks of increasing in joy.  From appearances, some people seem to grow more and more sour as the days go by and have less and less of a sense of humor.  Listen, the more you advance in age, the more your capacity to laugh at life’s ups and downs should grow.

Isaiah 29:19 (New International Version)

19 Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD;
the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

5. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 teaches us that we should grow in faith.  Now faith certainly touches all areas of life; and, hopefully, today you don’t freak out like you used to when you are faced with a trial, because your faith has grown and you have tasted and seen that the Lord is good.

2 Thessalonians 1:3 (New International Version)

Thanksgiving and Prayer

3We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

Today’s Devotionals: When the Lord Tarries, Growing Up

Where are you standing today?

I will not be afraid,
I will listen to what the Lord says to me and receive what He gives me.

Will you be hard hearted?

Will you receive the message from God?

Let God’s Word be planted in your heart and hear them from God with your ears.

As a watchman, you need to speak in grace and truth. If God gives you a word to speak, speak it.

At camp, God gave me two stories to tell about my life. One was a warning about pulling my hair out and that I recommend he not do it as it leaves a thin spot. The other was about the anger and temper that was triggered when someone hit me in the face. Both resonated with my camper, and I went on to share about my deliverance from the anger and temper when I was 31 and how I didn’t want him to have to wait 20 years to be free from that. I prayed over him and I pray that Lord, You will walk with him daily so that he will feel your love and presence and not need to be bound by the lies of the enemy, the pain of rejection and abuse, but walk in the freedom that can only come through forgiveness and through Your mercy and grace.

When God gives us a message to deliver, we need to do it for the consequences are severe:

“When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul."

Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your anger toward us to cease.
Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?
Show us Your mercy, LORD,
And grant us Your salvation.
Psalm 85:4-7

In mercy and truth
Atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil.

Today’s Devotionals:

Small Things

God uses work to develop character qualities that He plans to use at the appropriate time. In the small things we develop trustworthiness with God. The day-in and day-out grind of working life molds us and makes us into what God desires. God may still be preparing you for something far greater. For now, however, you are learning the daily lessons of small things. Pray that you will be faithful.

Pressing On

We haven’t arrive yet, so let’s keep moving.

If your spiritual growth has grown stagnant or your spiritual life is stunted, then we need to admit that we need to grow, then identify the barriers that are keeping a lid on our spiritual lives, and finally, by the grace of God, deal with those barriers and remove them, we will begin to press on and grow.
